  • possible to split an HDMI signal to 2 TVs?

Basically I'm trying to split my Apple TV signal to appear on 2 screens.

I have an HDMI splitter box and run one HDMI from the Apple TV to the box and then 2 HDMIs form it to the 2 screens. Only one screen works?

Any help with troubleshooting would be great. I've tried different HDMI cables so could it be the box? Does Apple TV put a restriction on stuff like this (I've heard of Apple TVs not playing nice with other products like converters and splitters before)?

  • Help me translate one word (hebrew)?

I just want to know how to write "Acts" in Hebrew.

As in the the book of the bible, Acts.

I would like to get "Act's 1:8" as a tattoo, but in Hebrew so if there's also a specific way to write numbers that's be nice too.

    Thanks

  • Other than a cross, what would be symbolic of "forgiveness"?

Pretty much said it in the title, but:

other than a cross, what icon/image could be used to show forgiveness?

Maybe a dove? Any other suggestions?

  • Anyone else think the legal age for getting a tattoo should be higher (in the US)?

I've mostly come to realize while reading the SAME questions pop up in this section ("does this tattoo look cool?" "TATTOO HELP PLEASE" "where can I hide a tattoo" etc etc) and then noticing the insane amount of people who are "turning 18 this year and will be getting a tattoo"....seems crazy!

To be frank, most of the ideas I see posted in those types of questions scream "immature" and "I'm trying to be cool"....granted there are always exceptions, but generally speaking I feel that 18 is too young to think about FOREVER maturely.

I, also, personally feel that tattoos should be seen, not hidden. To me, getting a tattoo in a concealed location (for the purpose of having it hidden) is going through pain for no reason so I can't help but get frustrated with all the "how can I hide this tattoo" questions that pop up.

  • what song is this?!?!?!?

So, this has been bugging me for weeks.

It's the song playing in the background of the current Red Lobster "sea food differently" commercial

    It's by a girl, with a European/British accent.

It starts off with a piano, fast tempo, and adds a nice drum beat (snare mostly).

I do remember the song (well, kindof) and I know she does a lot of speaking through out the song.

Even talks about some guy approaching her and tries to buy her a drink and she scoffs/laughs at him.

I usually HATE these types of questions here on Y!A but I'm trying to be a descriptive as possible...does any of this ring a bell with anyone?

  • safe to use a 5v power adapter for a 4.5v device?

Specifically, the FM transmitter base for the "myZone headphones" https://www.myzoneheadphones.com/?gclid=CKGZxcWEl6...

...this base has a power input on the back that says "DC in 4.5v" that's it, no range or amp info.

I have a spare power adapter (from an old cellphone) that has an output of +5v, 2.5-2.6a

I plugged it in and it powers the unit, but is it safe?

It won't melt anything or catch fire - will it?

  • tattoo on inner forearm - how much will it hurt?

Yes, I KNOW all tattoos hurt...and I KNOW it's "a needle going in you a thousand times" - I just want to know, from people who have them - what kind of pain am I looking at with getting a small (can be covered by a US dollar) tattoo of script on my forearm?

I feel like the forearm wouldn't hurt too bad.

  • how to set up an office with a central computer for storage (NAS - i guess)?

I have a few ideas on how to get this working, but I thought I'd throw this question out there to see if anyone else had any thoughts, ideas, or tips to share with me.

Basically, I am setting up an office with at least 4 computers (2 desktops and 2 laptops). and what I plan is for all the computers to be connected to a wireless network in the office and I want one computer/item to store all "the stuff" and be easily accessed from any of the computers...like creating "cloud storage" in my office.

I know that I can just easily share each computer with each other...but ideally I'd like to purchase some sort of hard drive or computer that is just meant to store data...not be used to run pgms or anything - I think that's called NAS, right?

ALSO, the laptops are for me and my employees to take home and work on things from home, so it'd be great if I could even access my office's storage via the internet once I get home.

I'm not opposed to buying more hardware or software, but if there is a quick and easy way to do this with just the equipment I have, that'd be great.

    Here's what I have:

2 desktops (do NOT have built in wifi)

2 laptops (with built in wifi)

    2 wireless routers (one G+ and one dual-band N)

**The dual-band router does have a USB port for attaching harddrives...

    1 wired router/switch

2 external hard drives, neither of which have networking capabilities.

    High-speed internet modem

    thoughts?

  • Ideas for a Photography Studio?

I'm coming up with ideas for my family's new photography studio. I have some ideas, but none that I'm sold on yet. I like witty names...or names that have to do with photography/cameras. Maybe names that have double meanings, or something that has to do with my faith (Christianity)...nothing too overtly religious tho.

here are some I came up with to give you an idea of where I'm headed:

Fixed Focus Studios. "Fixed Focus" because it has to do with photography (fixed focus lenses) and could be something religious (focus fixed on God)...

All For You Photography. Could be all for you (as in my clients) or You (as in God).

Emuna Studios. "Emuna" is my phonetic spelling of the Hebrew word for "faith."

    Things like that...any ideas?

    Thanks!

  • Intercooler STS: to buy or not to buy?

I've had a 360 for a LONG time and never bought an intercooler (old school kind) because of all the reports of it (the intercooler) actually damaging the system. Well, my old system crapped out on me yesterday and I decided to get a new S model. I notice that the right side (i have the new 360 standing vertically) gets VERY warm...almost hot.

I use my 360 for EVERYTHING. Literally. We use it for netflix and hulu plus and don't even have cable. we use it as a media extender and stream movies/tv shows/music from all our computers in the house. We listen to last.fm and (of course) play games. honestly, our 360 is on more than off.

Now I am considering buying the NEW version of the intercooler, but am not completely sold on it.

If you bought one/use one, how well does it keep the 360 "cool"?

Should I get one or not? Why/ Why not?

    THANKS!

  • what do you think of my website?

I'm really jsut looking for comments/criticism on my photography website. My wife and I moved back to the States last november and we decided to get into photography as a side job. I have asked friends, but most just say "oh yeah, it looks great" ... which is all well and good, but how can I know what to improve based on just that?

So, if you like it my site can you give me a specific reason why, even if it's something small.

Likewise, if you don't like something, please let me know.

  • what if I just don't use my cablebox?

I just got comcast set up with basic cable (15 channels) but decided to try plugging the cable straight into the TV instead of going through the box and now I have all the channels!

I guess what I'm asking is: is this ok?

  • Just got an iPhone 3GS, now what?

first off - I did get a black Otterbox because I have heard that if you drop the iPhone once - then it's dead for good. Basically I feel like I got suckered into buying this otterbox but oh well.

So, if you have an iPhone, do you have an otterbox? What else is there that could be a little more sleak, like the iPhone. . . ???

Also, what apps do you suggest? I already have:

    remote

    AT&T My Wireless

    Movies by Flixster

    VLC Media player

    Facebook

    Twitter

    Skype

What else should I get? :)

  • Owning a 360 and a PS3?

I already have a Wii and 360, and I do like them both for very different reasons. . .and not that I am getting tired of them, but I just want to know if I am missing out on anything by NOT having a PS3.

The bluray doesn't appeal to me right now because I live in China and DVDs are CRAZY cheap (less than $2 for 1 DVD) and bluray hasn't really kicked off over here.

What are some PS exclusive games...I know of God of War and Metal Gear Solid, but are those games worth getting another system?
