  • Looking for a specific peanut butter truffle recipe from a magazine.?

The recipe was for chocolate almond peanut butter truffles (peanut butter with almond slivers on the inside, dipped in chocolate). I found it in a magazine about two years ago. I think it was Cosmo, but it might have been Marie Claire or Elle. I made the recipe once when I found it and it came out wonderfully, and I wrote it down and then threw out the magazine, but I just went to make it again and realized I wrote it down wrong. I know this is a long shot, but if anyone knows the recipe I'm talking about, please share it with me!

  • Is it acceptable to have a fellow student write a letter of recommendation for me?

I am applying to graduate school and I don't have many options for who to ask for letters of recommendation. It's been a few years since I finished my bachelor's degree and I didn't keep in touch with most of my professors. I recently wrote a letters of recommendation for a friend who was a student with me in our undergrad school, and she was accepted into her graduate program, but it seems unprofessional to submit a letter from a fellow student instead of from just professors. Can any of you advise for or against this from your graduate school experience?

  • Has anyone here used Credo Mobile for their cell phone?

I'm considering switching to it but no one I know has used their service before, and I'd like to here how it has worked out for people first. If you've had them for your cell phone provider, did you like them? Did you have any complaints? Did you get good reception both for your regular cell phone reception and for a data connection (and what part of the country are you in)?

  • Does anyone remember Scorched Earth?

Does anyone remember the video game Scorched Earth? So simple, yet elegant. I was excited to see I could play it again at www.scorch2000.com, but than less excited when I realized there don't seem to be any people on there anymore so I can only play the computer. I'd love to play against some real people again.

  • Rope Bondage with a Male Bottom?

I'm trying to find a good book on rope bondage techniques, but I am a female with a male sub and it would be nice to have something that doesn't assume the gender roles will be the other way around. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good book on rope bondage that has at least a little bit about male subs?

  • How do I take care of my car in the winter?

I just moved to a part of the country that gets very cold and snowy winters. Since I came from a warmer area, I'm not sure if there is anything special I need to do with my car in the winter to take care of it, prevent the cold/snow/ice from hurting it, and make sure I'm still driving safely. Any advice would be appreciated. Even if it's something basic that seems obvious to you, I might not know since I've never had a car in a cold area before.

  • Is there anything to do in Iowa City/Cedar Rapids on Thanksgiving?

I have to spend Thanksgiving alone in the Iowa City area, and I would love to find something to do with other people so I'm not just sitting there by myself. Does anyone know of anything that goes on in this area on Thanksgiving or that weekend where I might be able to socialize a bit?

  • Does anyone know of a job I can do from the road?

I travel a lot, and I need to find a way that I can make decent money and still stay on the road. Honestly, it doesn't even have to pay that great. Does anyone have ideas for jobs I could work from the road? I have a B.S.S. in Human Services and I do have internet access while I travel.

  • How do I figure out what kind of piano this is?

I have a piano in my house that I need to sell. I wanted to place an ad some local papers, but all I know about the piano is that it was given to me in 1984 and it was not new at the time. How can I find out what kind it is and what it might be worth so I can better sell it?

  • How long do birth control pills last before they expire?

I used to be on birth control pills (Lo/Ovral) but I stopped taking them about 6 or 7 months ago. I saved the remainder of my pills for emergency contraceptive if I ever need Plan B and can't get a hold of it, but it just occurred to me that there is no expiration date on the pills. Does anyone know what the typical length of time is for birth control pills before they expire?

In case you're wondering, these pills were prescribed to me and purchased from a legitimate pharmacist. I'm not sure why there isn't an expiration date. Maybe I'm just missing it.

  • Poll: To which location would you rather move, and why?

If you had to move and you had no say in that, but you got to pick where you go, which of these locations would you pick to live for at least a few years? Your options are Japan, Germany, Italy, or Hawaii.

And why would you pick that one?

  • How much would you reasonably expect to pay for a used 93 Lincoln Town Car?

It has 95k miles on it and the person selling it said that the leveling system needs a compressor and the tires are "ok but not great." He is asking one grand and I'm wondering how reasonable this sounds to everyone. I've never bought a used car before, so I'm sorry if this is an obvious question, but I'd appreciate any input.

  • Is anyone familiar with Celebrations in Bensalem, PA?

I'm looking for a nice place to have my wedding reception that isn't too expensive. Searching online, I found a place called Celebrations in Bensalem, PA. The pictures on their website look really nice, but I'm halfway across the country right now and won't be back to the East Coast in order to look at the place in person for a long time. So I was wondering if anyone here had been to an event or hosted an event at Celebrations, and can you tell me if it was as nice as they make it out to be on their website?

  • I'm trying to go to Alaska...?

Does anyone here know a way to get to Alaska other than flying or driving? I've been looking for trains or buses I can take, but all I find are ones that just go around within the state itself. Does anyone know anything that might be useful to me? Flying is too expensive and I don't have my car right now. A cruise is also not an option. I'm currently in Iowa.

Does it actually do anything when you give someone thumbs up or thumbs down on their answer to a question, or is that just for show for the other readers?

  • Can it hurt to use birth control pills just for a month?

I was on the pill in the past, but I went off to save money while my fiance is in Iraq and I won't be having sex. He'll be home soon on leave and I've been considering going back on them, but just for one month while he is home. Does anyone know if it could be bad for my health to go on and off again in so short a time?
