I have an old 150W RMS amp (2x75W RMS). I was using it to power 7x10 speakers, however, the speakers have blown after about 10 years of use. I'd prefer not to buy a new as I'm skint at the moment.
I was thinking of buy a 10 inch sub and bridging the amp. I'm not after anything huge, I just want some bottom end to my music (the 7x10 speakers had crap bass). Most subs tend to accept much higher wattage. So my questions are:
1. Would a 150W RMS amp be able to power a 300W RMS sub?
2. Would the amp damage the speaker (due to insufficient power)?
3. If it's OK, should I set the gain to max on the amp to compensate for the low power rating of the amp?

I'm from Australia and I have recently completed my 4 year undergraduate program in Psychology. I am considering doing my post-graduate training in America with the intention of being a registered practioner.
Does anyone know of the registration requirements for joining the relevant body (I assume APA), in the USA? Links to relevant websites (APA & or Colleges) are also appreciated.

I've recently inherited a Samick Valley Arts Custom guitar... It's basically a copy of a fat strat with a tremelo locking system.
I've tried to play it through my amp but to no avail. A few occasional clicks, sometimes a note can be heard whilst jiggling the jack. It has a 5-way selector switch, and the same problem occurs irrespective of the selection on the switch.
I've taken of the pickguard and all wires are in place. I don't want to take the guitar to my local music shop because the cost of repair will probably exceed the value of the guitar.
If anyone has some knowledge of this, then that would be great...
My line of thinking so far is that it's not a wiring issue, because all wires are in place. Also I don't think it's a faulty pickup because the same problem occurs irrespective of the 5-way selector switch. That basically leaves the 2 pots (1x volume, 1 x tone) and the selector switch...
I'd really like to diagnose the problem, so that I can start looking at a solution... I have access to a voltmeter, I read somewhere that you can test the pots with a voltmeter, is this correct? Any other tips on diagnosing, and possibly fixing the electronics on this guitar will be greatly appreciated.

I have an old 1995 corolla and the padding in the driver's seat has compacted out. The front passenger seat however feels great.
I'd love to buy a new seat but i just can't justify spending the dollars on this car... Is it possible to take out the seats and swap them over, so that the front passenger seat becomes the driver seat, and the driver seat becomes the front passenger seat?
If so, are there any tips that you can offer? Do i need to worry about the seat belt buckle or anything?

I have an unfinished bottle of red wine, which has been sitting on my bench for a few weeks... I certainly wouldn't drink it, because i think it has been left out for too long.
My question is however, can i use it for cooking. For instance, will old wine (and by old i mean, wine that has been opened a while ago) make my spaghetti taste bad.

I heard the mountains in Japan get busy on the weekends, but are usually quiet during the week as the locals are at work.
Does the first 2 weeks of January coincide with any public, national or school holidays? and if so, do the mountains, specifically Niseko, get busy during this period?

I'm doing a 2x2 within subjects ANOVA and both main effects and the interaction were significant.
Do i need to do post-hoc analyses to pin-point the difference for the interaction... I know you need to do it for a 3x2, because it is unclear, however, i'm unsure if i need to do it for a 2x2.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm scraping for dollars to purchase MS office (for mac) and i don't want to be ripped off. I've been using neo office, however, i'm starting post grad this year and would like to use endnote which is not compatible with neooffice (according to neowiki).
So I was thinking of purchasing a used version of MS office 2004 (student & teacher edition) because it's cheaper. The item description indicates that you can legally install MS office onto 3 machines.
The seller has indicated that MS office has been uninstalled on all machines, however the seller has not specified how many machines it has been previously installed on.
Will the product key work if it has been previously installed and uninstalled on 3 computers?
Are there any other things i should be wary of? Are there any significant changes between the different versions of MS Office?

Hi there, a friend and i are traveling to the USA for holidays and will be arriving on xmas evening.
I was wondering what is the best way to travel from the airport to our accomodation in Route 3 East Secaucus, New Jersey, additionally, how long will it take and cost?
I was thinking of catching a cab, if this is the preferred option, which route should i tell the taxi driver to take... I'm from Sydney, and the taxi drivers will take naive tourists on a longer route if they need the extra fare money... Any other advice in relation to catching cabs in NYC or NJ...
Lastly, is there a good NJ-NYC public transport website?
Thanks a million!
