Alright, so I'm currently in college with my declared degree as political science. Honestly political science.....I don't see where that will get me after school or what jobs would be that interesting with a poli sci degree. So I've been contemplating culinary school because I love food, love to cook and bake and have spend time in the restaurant business and enjoy that too. I have a friend who went to a cordon bleu school and highly, highly recommends it, but I've also been reading online that the CIA schools are the best to get a job after school because they are the "number one culinary institute in America". My question is which would you, as culinary school graduates, recommend to me? Do they both include a lot of hands on teaching? I heard the le cordon bleu schools only last 15 months and cost about 40,000 but what does the CIA run? Will future employers be more likely to employ me after graduating from one than the other? Thanks for your help and if you have any other info you think would be useful to me I appreciate it all!

When I was 17 they put me on grill (which I later found out was illegal under Colorado law since I was still a minor and working in a 'dangerous posistion') and while in grill got quite a few burns. Most were small and not ones that bother me too much but one night my forearm touched the top part of the clamshell which was about 400 degrees and covered in grill cleaning chemicals. I got a five inch long and two inch wide burn running down my arm. My mom took me to the doctor and they suggested I recieve plastic surgery to correct the scar but my misplaced loyalty in Mcdonalds made me say no, not wanting them to have to pay for more than my visit to the ER. at age 20 I despise that scar. My arms look horrible from all the burns I got while working there. We were always told to go faster and faster, we were never given anything to protect us from being burned. I understand that burns, to some extent, were unavoidable but it is absurd the amount of burns I received and people working with me received to meet the supervisors constant demands of 'faster'. I quit in July of 2011. Is there anything I can do that would make the company pay for the damage done to my arms while I was working there? Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you.

If you are going to say drug addicts shouldn't be in the military, or don't join I don't want to fight for my country beside a drug addict don't waste your time and please don't waste mine. Throw your narrow minded views on someone else. As of the end of January I have been completely clean. No drugs, occasional drinking but very occasional. I entered a detox in January for heroin. I used for about five months never intravenously. I have not and will not do any drug again, after that my experimenting, wanting to try drug phase is over. I'm in good health, have only consumed alcohol maybe five times since detox and none at all since august. I'm in college, making good grades and have a decent job. BUT I have always wanted to join the Navy and serve my country. I will not lie to a recruiter. Do my medical records (the record of my 36 hour stay in detox) get checked? I have never been in trouble with the law, and have no criminal record. Is my past drug use an absolute disqalifier even though I've been clean and their drug tests would ensure that I stayed that way? Thank you in advance for answering.

To me, senior pictures are supposed to show who you are, or looking back, who you were in high school. I'm not someone who really worries about what I look like. I get out of bed, brush my hair and teeth, and put on some comfortable clothes. My friends say I'm pretty, but I dont see myself that way, and I cant stand getting my picture taken. I'm nervous about getting senior pics taken, and I'm just hoping for a bit of advice. Thanks!

  • Why fight a fever if...?

When we get sick and get a fever, we take medicines that will help lower it. But, we get fevers to help our bodies fight infections. From what I've heard, the increased temperature makes it impossible for some pathogens to live in the body, and allows white blood cells to mature faster. So why fight it if it is helping us?

I bought this cream from vitamin cottage, that, I was told, would help. I dont think it has helped, and has maybe made it worse. My mom keeps telling me to go to the doctor, but I hate the doctor, and will try to avoid going for as long as I can. If you have any ideas on what is wrong, let me know!
