• Know which place to buy - still need real estate agent?

I am in the process of buying my current condo unit, which is going up for sale. The owner and I have talked. I am now talking to different lenders for mortgage options. When I decide on the lender, then what? Do I need an agent to help me close the deal?

Hi, I'm stuck in a rut and any insight/advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm a 25-year-old environmental consultant for the federal government looking for a new job in the national capital region area (MD/DC/VA). I've had this position for 2.5 years, started fresh out of college when I didn't know what I was doing. I have extensive experience dealing with environmental policy, compliance, and regulation for federal clients (Secretary of Defense, Marine Corps, FEMA, etc) - but that's exactly what I don't want to pursue. I'm desperately looking for a new job that will take me out into the "field" (I currently sit at a desk 8 hours/day, 7 days/week) and construction caught my eye. However, as you can tell, I have no previous construction experience or skills whatsoever. What are the steps I should take to prepare myself if I want to apply for construction positions? What are my options?

  • Virginia safety/emission inspection?

I'm a new driver and a bit confused -- how do they differ? i.e. how often they have to be performed, how do you know when you are due for safety or emission inspection, where their respective stickers go on the car (isn't one on the windshield and the other on the license plate?)

  • What is emissions inspection (Virginia)?

I've heard that emissions testing and inspection are 2 different things (one is annual and the other isn't....?), but for my registration renewal it says Emissions Inspection required.

I'm coming straight out of college and as you can imagine most of my clothes are definitely on the "casual" side - not inappropriate by any means but still unsure.
