  • Can't find this song?

The song was from the 80s, a female vocal. Similar stylistically to In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins.

    The chorus went like

    "oh oh oh

    oh oh oh

    oh oh oh

    oh oh oh..."

    Any suggestions?

  • Campaign Ideas for School Communications Director?

    Hey!

I'm running for Communications Director at my school for the upcoming Grade 11 school year. Does the yAnswers community have any unique ideas to campaign with (Posters, Social Media, etc.)? The focus being on technology and communicating with it.

    Thanks!!

  • Good, Value, Distortion/OD/Fuzz Pedal?

I have a Fender Tele Blacktop and a Fender Mustang 35w solid state amp. I'm looking for a decent pedal under $80 that can help me get a tone akin to the guitar from Money Maker - Black Keys, or Walk With Me - Neil Young. So far the Little Big Muff, Behringer VD1, and Cool Cat Drive V2 all seem like good choices. Am I steering myself in the right direction? Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

  • Spam involving youtube?

Starting today, occasionally when i'm on YouTube (unsure what the exact cause is) my cursor starts flickering, and about 5-6 new tabs that are clearly spam (omgtracking.info, asian-girls.info,etc.) appear. Is this a virus? What could the problem be? Firefox extension? My computer having a virus? Something else? I'm doing a full scan now, i'll report back with the results

  • Similar music to Iceage?

I picked up their album New Brigade, but really only loved Broken Bone. Can anyone recommend songs/albums/bands that are similar to the style of this song?

  • What does it mean when girls are never the ones to start conversations?

When i'm talking to girls that I like through the phone, facebook, etc, they usually aren't the ones who start the conversations. Why is this, and what can I do to change it?

  • Rec. any good jazz fusion artists?

I listen mainly to alternative rock, electronica music, but recently I felt a craving for some great jazz fusion. Unfortunately, the albums I have listened to thus far haven't really sparked my interest.

The album's I have liked are Jaco Pastorius's self titled album, and Soft Machine's Third. Anyone have suggestions for similar music? (Looking particularly for jazz with good basslines)

  • Missed my chance with a girl?

I have liked a girl for around a year, and we were sort of flirty for awhile, but that has stopped somewhat recently. Have I completely missed my opportunity to make a move on her, and how can I get back to where we were?

  • Is recovery partition needed?

Im trying to install Linux (Fedora 15 w/ GNOME 3) onto my computer, but Toshiba has all too conveniently taken up all four primary partitions. Therefore I cannot use the free space that is created or make a new partition. A while back, I made a repair disc using the native windows utility. It is not a backup, but a repair disc meant to restore windows if something goes awry. Is this disc the same as the recovery partition? If so, is it safe to delete the partition? Also, there are TWO, so I am not sure which I need to delete, or both. Help would be appreciated.

  • Is it acceptable to see a concert by yourself?

Sam Roberts Band (they are called that officially now) are coming to Toronto in June. I'm having difficulty finding someone who has actually heard the band and wants to go with me. Is it 'socially acceptable' to see a concert by yourself? Also, Zeus is opening, so this is a concert I REALLY don't want to miss.

  • Electric Guitar or Bass Guitar?

I'm in high school and already play acoustic guitar pretty well. I'm looking for a $200-$300 electric or bass guitar. And recommendation on which type of guitar I should choose, along with which guitar is IN THIS PRICE RANGE and reliable?

Please do not recommend 'the $600 Fender', it isn't in my budget

  • Acer vs. Toshiba Laptop?

I currently have a Toshiba M500 (14 inch)laptop from last year, Core 2 Duo, & Windows 7. I have the opportunity the opportunity to obtain the Acer 3820 TimelineX (13 inch), $679 running Core i5. I would like something lighter and thinner for school. Is the Acer worth the upgrade and extra cost (which would be partially subsidized.. long story)? Also, is Acer or Toshiba a more reliable brand? I've heard both are great, but I also have a pre-concieved notion that Acer is crap like HP and eMachines.

    Thanks!

  • MSE vs. AVG Free 11? Which is better?

I've gone through many free anti-virus software, and currently have Microsoft Security Essentials because of the light resource use. However AVG Free 2011 uses the same detection engine as the paid version, and it lighter on resources and faster. Is it worth the switch? Having both is illogical, and can sometimes conflict and create problems

  • MacBook Disadvantages?

Are there any disadvantages to a MacBook over my current laptop?

    Current Specs:

    2.13 Mhz Core 2 Duo

    4 Gb RAM

    500 Gb HDD

    14 Inch screen.

The lesser RAM on the MacBook is not a huge deal.

Also, when does the newer MacBook usually get released? I can wait until around Christmas.

  • Macbook over PC? (not a mac vs. pc war)?

I currently own a Toshiba M500 laptop, which I have owned since October. My dad was interested in buying a new computer, and this created a situation in which I have the opportunity to buy a MacBook (not Pro), and then he would take my computer. I was wondering if it was really worth it. I like the Macbook because of iChat, GarageBand, and to an extent, the interface. I currently enjoy Windows 7 as well so I am having a difficult decision between the two.

    MacBook

    Pros

    iChat

    Garageband

    OSX

    Thinner, Lighter

    Slot-Loading CD drive

    Cons

    Expensive

    Less RAM

    Faster processor (2.4 GHZ)

    No SD slot

    Toshiba

    Pros

    Twice as much RAM

    Larger Hard Drive

    I really like Windows 7...

Waaay more robust, alot more freeware

    Cons

    No equivalent to Mac software

    thick, heavy

    slower Processor (2.2ghz)

Does having only 2 RAM on a MacBook really make a difference if the processor if faster?

  • Who is the best member of Slaughterhouse?

IMHO its Royce da 5'9", cause his solo work is crazy, and he can spit and has some sick freestyles. Crooked I is also sick, he is a good freestyler too. Joe Budden is the most lyrical IMHO, and Joell is pretty ill too, but nothing outstanding compared to the others

  • why am i always tired, even after LOTS of sleep?

I go to bed at 9 to 10, and wake up at around 8. I am always exhausted in the morning, slightly weak, and then i am exhausted for the rest of the day. (weakness goes away) I get more than enough sleep ( I sometimes get 11 hrs in and i am still tired.) WHY? Its affecting my life, and my parents think its just 'my attitude'.
