I'm sure it has something to do with sudden temperature changes but would love to know the scientific explanation. While I am at it would a fillet of chicken at body temperature do the same? • What is the difference between a frog and a toad?

Yeah, I know frogs are meant to be prettier than toads, but is there a scientific background to this delineation between two very similar species? Does it have something to do with their place of residence ie. amphibious or non-amphibious, or is it a moniker (namely the toad) borne from folklore, as in toads are 'evil' and used by witches,... show more

  • What happened to the dish and the spoon?

You know 'hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle....'. I believe the dish ran away with the spoon in the end. Where did they run to? Where are they now? Why did they run away? These questions have been vexing me since childhood.

Why in blue blazes did I consume that for? I mean, yes, I was hungry and yes the pizza did look oh so inviting as did those chips. So what do I go and do? Hmm? • Have you thought about dump trucks lately?

I mean they don't really carry dumps around do they? They just carry dirt and old rocks . Is it because they dump their contents and hence the name 'dump' came about? I don't know, I am terribly confused.

Running in the rain or walking briskly? Some argue that by running you expose yourself to more drops than you would by just walking. What is your opinion on this?

Am I noticing a change in the way the sentences, specifically questions are posed on YA? I have never heard this before. Maybe it is a cultural difference. Maybe it's an age thing. I am a bit of a language vulture and enjoy looking at how words are put together, so to use a term like 'So..' before a question assumes that we are all familiar with the writer's situation. We are not. Any thoughts?
