• Is the season the reason vegetable prices have gone sky high?

Like $1.99 formerly $0.99-$1.29 for spinach. Romaine $3.00 a bunch. Green peppers way up there. In fact, these prices may seem low but they are comparative.

  • What's the best way to break-in ceramic brake pads?

I replaced pads because they were worn down to warning tab. Determined no need for turning and cleaned thoroughly. Pads worked fine from the beginning and no noise. If this isn't full braking power it is very adequate as it is. Just for the sake of it, what is best to set the pads? Hard braking, nothing special, what?

  • Coconut milk solidified?

I have a can which shows no motion inside. I have not yet opened it. It is obviously solidified but I wonder if putting the unopened can in boiling water or other measures would restore it? Otherwise, just throw it away. No big whoop.

  • What causes grey/white smoke from a gas chain saw?

Hoping to do fire prevention, I got after a lot of tinkering to run, but not run right. It will stall if you gun it and is smokes. But it does run, which is a step up from before. Then when I get it running I am going to cut brush. Might as well make a hobby out of it.

  • Why can't an ash guard stop the spread of wildfire?

I am referring to the Camp Fire, in Paradise CA. The flame front is emitting hot embers as much as a mile ahead of the fire itself. These catch in any place and start of fire aided by the wind. These embers flow mostly close to the ground. This is why you can see that the trees and even their foliage is untouched (although probably killed) while the home footprints are burned into a fine ash. It seem to suggest that the homesteads are somehow more inflammable than a tall pine tree. So if all this is correct, then wouldn't a simple cyclone fence of the correct gauge mesh and a suitable height, like 25 feet be an effective way to protect a town?

  • How do I turn off the ringer on a Southwestern Bell Freedom cordless phone?

I thought there should be a switch but the only switch is for volume of speech and nothing for the ringer. Between solicitation and political campaigns the phone is always ringing--and never for me. (I can still receive messages). So it would be the way to go to just shut off the ringer but how?
