I'm trying to go to a community college first and major in mathematics, then transfer to a 4-year college or university. First, my parents and other people told me to become an accountant since I'm good at math, claiming that accountants earn good money. Now, they said accountants cannot get jobs in the next 10-20 years because we're so advanced in computers that computers can/will do the jobs that accountants can/will do. And people often/always tell me to become a nurse, saying that nurses can really earn huge money in a short amount of time without going to college. So what should I do? I really want to study/major in mathematics and get a job that's related to my major/mathematics and I don't like to become a nurse, I don't like to work in a hospital all my life. Besides accountant, what are some of the best/other career choices for college math majors?

  • Help me with this math problem?

Somehow I've got different answers because the answer supposed to be (1, 2) but I got (3993, 3992). What's wrong here? How would you do this problem? I did the elimination method and got x=3993 and y=3992. Please show all your work step by step and tell me the right answer. Thanks.

Now, I've saved some money. And I want to major in mathematics. I heard that attending and finishing community college can get you an Associate's degree after two years of completing, is this true? And what kind of jobs can I get with an Associate's degree in mathematics? I want to learn mathematics till the end. Like all of them. And approximately, how much is the tuition for community college each year? Is it affordable for people like me? Lastly, will I be able to find jobs easily after I earn an Associate's degree in mathematics? Is this a demanding career?

Can anyone please check and confirm if my answer is correct? If not, then please provide a proof for this question and tell me the correct answer. I know that these types of proof-based math problems generally have many different solutions but I don't know which one is the best solution(way) to prove this. Please provide many proofs (more than one) if you have any. Thank you.
