  • I like this guy but he's a bit messed up because of his ex?

I really like this guy from work, Hes really lovely :) But he got messed around a lot by his ex and they split up last august, He says he's really messed up and that its not a good idea to be friend or have anything to do with him, hes quite self concious and sorta shy, He says he doesn't make new mates when i asked him what that made me he laughed and said a new mate I really like him and just spending a bit more time getting to know him The reason i know him so well is that i always talk to him when isee him even if its a hello we have similar ideas when it comes to relationships and i wonder if anyone thinks we'll get any where thanks :)

I always got stuck on the lazy horse which i could get going now in being put on horses that are fine in walk but as soon as you ask for trot they run away with you! I tend to lose my stirrups and pull back on the reins, but I havent fell off yet any way i have on ever fell off once but that was bareback and she could'nt get me off just by bucking so she twisted and dropped her shoulder and i fell, Google tells me nothing about bringing a horse back under control when they take off with you?

  • What should happen to yards that punish horses?

I worked out at a riding yard a while ago in exchange for lessons, During the period of a couple of months it was fine but the last month was the reason i left, during this last month a horse with cuts on his back legs keept side stepping away (little sidesteps and not aggresively) when they were trying to clean his cuts, another girl that worked there kicked him twice in the ribs once in the chest, Even though the had a twitch, they used this eventually, a second time was leading the horses in from the field and another member of staff past on a horse that when i bundled the remains of the lead rope in my left hand spooked jumped up and down a little and ran away a little, the horse came back, the member of staff took the leadrope bundled it up in his left hand and whipped him acroos the face with the end of it, I left this yard I was disgusted at this behaviour, Horses are intelligent enough to do or try what you ask them without hitting them, I went to this yard despite the rumours that went around and after a couple of months they proved those rumours right I was asked to rate them on a website and i didn't lie, I put down the truth, I recently ran into them at a weekly showjumping event, They Said that i didn't know what i was talking about, they said that a mare hits and bies her foal and how else does it learn? I happen to know that a mare wont bite or kick her foal untill it is a lot older and trys to mount her for example but she communicates through body language, eg if her foal is doing wrong in the mares eyes she would respond by flattening her ears back showing her teeth and lashing her tail sometimes lifting a leg to threat but never actually hitting her young (as far as i know) when her foal is older she will probably kick out or bite, but in regards to biting this is usually in herding her young away from something seen as a potential threat, They said i knew nothing and that i would see this happening at other yards she basically said that was the way horses learned they have done wrong, I can understand a smack on the shoulder during training but not with actually kicking them or whipping there face, Many people say horses are thick skinned so they dont feel pain but if there skin is that sensitive that they can feel a fly moving across there flank or back the can surely feel the sting of a lead rope a kick or even a smack of the crop, Please share your views I want to know if i was in the right or wrong for typing the truth on a website of was i the one in the wrong, for not putting up with cruelty to horses? or Is it stupid to believe that you can train a horse withoput physical beatings?
