I can't seem to get a straight answer, but I'm driving to Long Island City in a compact car. I'm taking the Jersey turnpike, 95 unless there is a better way.
Driving directions says there is about 4 toll stops....but I can't seem to get a complete cost.
So how ridiculous is it?7 AnswersNew York City1 decade ago
Either that, or I need to know the best place to stay outside of manhatten with free 24 hour access by subway or train back and forth to hotel. Is it worth it to stay in Jersey and take a shuttle or train to NYC, or shoudl I just cough it up to stay in Manhatten and walk everywhere? Also, if I shoudl choose to stay in Manhatten.....what hotels have free onsite parking?6 AnswersNew York City1 decade ago
I'm 30 years old and finishing a college degree in fitness and health studies to be a fitness trainer and massage therapist. I cannot work as a LMT right now b/c my license has lapsed, but I plan on fixing that as soon as I get the degree and some money in the bank. The thing is, this past year I have had and quit three horrible restaurant jobs. I moved three times in the past 2 years, went through all kinds of job fluxuations due to breaking up with, getting back together with , and finally divorcing a terrible man. I went through such negative stress that I was in the hospital for a short time. I have volunteer experience, and I am an honors student. I am rebuilding my life and have defined goals. The thing is, when I look for part time jobs around my school schedule, everyone is so fixated on the "last three jobs" I had.....they want phone numbers of employers, not references such as teachers or friends. This screws me. How can I show an employer that my focus is on where I'm going, not where I've been? Trust me, I know that by my age I should have had it figured out, but I went a whole decade making stupid choices and finding dead ends, and am ashamed of it.3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade ago
I live up in Baltimore and I have some friends coming up from Florida who have never seen Washington DC. We are college students, so I want to take them to some trendy places beyond the monuments and such....I know there are some trendy neighborhoods in DC, but I want to know where to park, where we can get out and walk, where it is safe to walk late at night, etc....
Think bars, nightclubs, funky boutiques, interesting landmarks to see. Please be specific with street names and possible websites.2 AnswersWashington, D.C.1 decade ago

I haven't practiced in awhile, but I am in college to be a Web designer/Digital Media programmer. I had taken masage therapy in school before because I wanted to do it, and earn more money in less time. However I am up for renewals and am wondering if I should invest all the money needed to get a license in MD......how are the spa jobs?3 AnswersAlternative Medicine1 decade ago
I mean from a computer science versus art degree perspective. I am definitely an artistic person, having been involved with theater and dance, but I'm back in college and looking to get a degree in some kind of creative technology. I'm sick of being poor. I'm taking a basic web design and programming class and since I'm new to this, its HARD. I'm not saying impossible, just difficult. I know there are a ton of people out there with way more experience than me. I also know the field is flooded with designers who can't make a living painting and drawing, so they turn to computers. Should I approach my field the easier way, like in arts, or challenge myself and do computer science?2 AnswersOther - Visual Arts1 decade ago
I lost the USB cord, but the camera has a mem card....what do I put it in?3 AnswersCameras1 decade ago
I have two cards that have low credit limits, and I have one paid off and another one almost paid off. But they both have high annual fees and high interest rates, which I want to change. I do not want to just cancel the cards, because I'm trying to get a better credit history. I declared bankruptcy four years ago. I would really lke to consolidate these into one good credit card, just to have a line of credit open, but with a lower rate. How can I fix this without a bunch of inquiries and potential lowering of my score?2 AnswersCredit1 decade ago
I'll put a DVD on the comp, and after about 10 minutes the monitor will fade to "no signal" floating across the screen. I's weird, I have the screensaver set to 30 minutes, so I never see that come on, it's like the monitor just goes to sleep2 AnswersMonitors1 decade ago
Help! I need to find a dance to use in Romeo and Juliet...the ballroom dance scene where they meet...?
I need to find an authentic dance to use during the ballroom scene in my school play. I can ballroom dance, but I have to find a folk dance or something from the era, to teach to people with no prior dance experience. Something simple! Maybe a folk waltz?2 AnswersDancing1 decade ago

When I graduate, I will have between 50-60,000 in student loans. Since I can't file for bankruptcy unless I'm homeless, how can I make payments on the loan that's less than 500 a month? Will they allow me to pay what I can?3 AnswersFinancial Aid1 decade ago
I am a fair skinned 29 year old female. I have had sunburns every summer since childhood. I live in Florida and love the sun. I have been in tanning beds alot before, but no longer use them. I have a body covered in moles, and my father is covered in even more moles. He has also had "pre-cancerous" moles removed. I have had a doc tell me I have "abnormal benign" moles as a teen.....I have new moles, bumps and marks appear, but not morph into the crusty, bloody or discolored moles associated with melanoma. I hate sunscreen, and usually tan, sometimes I still burn. I had a second degree sunburn at age 13, which forever freckled my nose. How much of a risk am I?3 AnswersCancer1 decade ago
