I replaced the fuse and they worked for three days then quit again. I have been told a few times now that it is an electrical problem. I have called multiple places about looking at my Tahoe and they cannot give me a price range because they don't know the problem and they are not sure how long it will take to fix it. I am just wondering what the problem may be and how much I should plan to spend on this adventure. I know everyone has different prices but i just need a ballpark figure??1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade ago

I'm trying to replace existing light switches but the garbage disposal switch is giving me problems!?
I took the wires out of the old switch and tried to install them in the same places on the new switch. There were 3 wires; one connected to the top screw, one looped around the bottom screw and one in the hole on the back of the switch. I can't get the last wire in the hole on the back of the new switch. I tried grounding that wire but it didn't work when I flipped the breaker back on and now the dishwasher (which drains through the disposal and is on the same breaker) doesn't work either. I don't want to have to pay to hire an electrician if I'm just missing something small. I rewired all of the outlets in the kitchen and I assumed the switches would be just as easy. I am purchasing my first home from a seller who never lived in it, only rented. If the renters had an outstanding balance with the electric or utility company, would they be able to place a lien on the property and delay my closing? My real estate agent mentioned this but it doesn't make sense that a third party's outstanding debt would effect my purchase of the property.8 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade ago
