He's my situation. I've been working nights now for the past two years. I reside in an office in from 12:00 midnight to 8:00am all alone. No one is generally with in a mile radius of me in the event that something goes wrong. This job I have I like and can't really afford to lose. Here's my problem.
As of late I've been having problems sleeping (as in the last three months) in the day for more than about 5 hours. My room is REALLY dark during the day (pitch black :D). I find myself getting more and more tired as the week wears on.
Now most of the changes have happened to me very slowly so I've never really thought of them until now. I used to go out at night and have walks, I don't do that now because I hear a sound and it freaks me out. The other thing is in the corner of my vision I keep seeing things like spiders or just plain movement that is not there. My question is what should I do about it? I don't want to take medication of any real kind. I've tried to get back onto the day shift but as most people on night shift know, employers want you to stay there. :P I live in Canada, should I see if this is a medical issue or what else can I do? As well if it is an issue who would I see, a GP, or someone else? It's starting to effect my performance.
As well during a recent trip I got to switch back to days for 2 and a half weeks. During this time had no problems at all and could camp at night in the wilderness without having any issues.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
