I'm not going to tell you my real age but I'm between 8-12. I have a cute miniature doberman pinscher named Debby, and since I love her so much, that's how I decided on my name! I ♥ Debby! ☆☆☆☆☆★★★★★ I like playing with Debby, going on the laptop, and watching TV. My talents are drawing, singing, and playing the piano. I love drawing, I do it all the time. I'm home-schooled, which is awesome! But what's even better is BEING A CHRISTIAN. I picked this up from one of my friends... ╬╔╦═╦═╦╗╔╦═╗ Put this on your ║║║═╣═╣║║║═╣ profile if you ╔╝║═╬═║╚╝╠═║ believe in Him. ╚═╩═╩═╩══╩═╝

  • How can I change this lemon cupcake recipe?

I want to make this recipe:

    http://allrecipes.com/recipe/lemon-cupcakes-2/

But I only want a plain vanilla cupcake instead of lemon. If I take out the lemon juice, will it change how moist the cake is or can I just add more milk in place of it? Thanks :)

  • Advice on which art supplies to use? (Reference picture included)?

    Reference picture: http://instagram.com/p/oXV4WrpvYN/#

I was thinking of using watercolors for the splotches on the bottom, and maybe colored pencils for the body? Any other suggestions and tips would be appreciated, as this is my first time attempting to draw a person with colored pencil. I usually use graphite pencils.

Also, how would I blend the colored pencil (gradient from one color to the other)?

I have a Prismacolor blending stick, but I haven't really tried it yet. Does it work well?

    Thanks!

  • Help! My comments on Instagram aren't showing up?

Whenever I comment on someone's picture on Instagram, it shows up for about two seconds, then disappears! My Internet connection is fine, and there's no red exclamation point showing up, it simply goes away.

I'm not putting anything inappropriate, I'm just trying to get people to look at my drawings (my username is @artistsprofile btw, if anyone can look at my drawings and give some feedback that would be awesome.)

Does anyone have a similar problem and know how to fix it?

I think it may have to do something with a comment I wrote a few weeks ago, saying "Please check out my drawings." Instagram automatically deleted it and told me that that type of comment wasn't allowed, so I tried re-wording it, but the same message appeared. It was after that that my comments weren't showing up.

Also, the only comments that remain are the ones that I put on my own pictures. Thanks.

  • What type of soft pastels are shown in this picture?

    http://instagram.com/p/X0G6K1mG9u/

I love this artists drawings and I want to try the art supplies that she uses, but I'm not sure what brand of pastels these are. Thanks!

(Note: I asked this question before and forgot to mention that this artist is quite popular, and if I asked her what brand she uses she probably wouldn't see it, with so many people asking her other questions.)

  • Best paper to blend skintones on?

I like drawing realistic portraits but I have trouble blending it, and I think it might be the paper. What's a good paper for blending skintones? And maybe the best tools to blend skintones? Right now I'm using Prismacolor colorless blender and blending stumps.

  • Best art supplies for realistic portraits?

I like drawing realistic portraits and I want to ask for good art supplies on my Christmas wish list. I especially want good blending tools to blend skin tones. This is what I have so far:

    - Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils

    - Blending stumps and/or tortillions

    - Prismacolor Pencil Sharpener

    - Bristol board smooth finish paper

So, what else should I ask for? What do you guys use to make realistic portraits? Thanks!

  • How to cope with racist friends?

I'm Asian and my two best friends are Caucasian and Caucasian/Filipino. They're extremely racist (mostly the Caucasian one) and they would make fun of Asians and African-Americans in front of me and in public (etc. library, school).

Whenever we're studying together and I finish my homework right away, they roll their eyes and whisper to each other about how "Asians are soooo smart", and if I'm struggling with homework, they ask me "Aren't Asians supposed to be smart?" I try to ignore them and not care about how they judge me, but sometimes it really hurts my feelings. They also make fun of me because of my acne (I'm in jr. high, and not a lot of kids in my class have acne as bad as me).

I have a strict mother, who won't let me go out with my friends without a parent, or sleep over at their houses, and it feels like every opportunity they get, they shove it in my face. Not directly, but they would make plans to go to the movies or go shopping together, and without me, and once they lied to their mothers that I couldn't go to the movies because they knew my mother would say no, and yet they didn't even ask me if I wanted to go.

Sometimes I feel like they're only my friends because I give them food, money, and homework answers. Other times I feel like I have the best friends in the world because they're outgoing and funny. If I cut off this friendship, I don't really know what to do, because I'm not good at making friends and because I will always see them at school and at church. Is there anything I can say to them to make them stop?

  • Royal icing or sugar cookie icing on gingerbread cookies?

I'm making gingerbread cookies and I have recipes for royal icing and sugar cookie icing, but I don't know which would go better with gingerbread cookies. Here are the recipes I'm using:

    ROYAL ICING

2 large egg whites or 5 tablespoons meringue powder

2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    3 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted

    Food coloring, if desired

With a hand mixer, beat the egg whites with the lemon juice or extract until frothy. Add the sifted powdered sugar and beat on low speed until combined, smooth, and shiny. Turn to high and beat approximately 5 minutes till stiff and glossy. Add food coloring, if desired, and transfer to a pasty bag to pipe onto cookies.

    SUGAR COOKIE ICING

    1 cup confectioners' sugar

    2 teaspoons milk

    2 teaspoons light corn syrup

    1/4 teaspoon almond extract

    assorted food coloring

    Directions

In a small bowl, stir together confectioners' sugar and milk until smooth. Beat in corn syrup and almond extract until icing is smooth and glossy. If icing is too thick, add more corn syrup.

Divide into separate bowls, and add food colorings to each to desired intensity. Dip cookies, or paint them with a brush.

~And for Royal Icing, which is better: vanilla extract or lemon juice?

~ Also, I'm making this for my school's cookie contest. If anyone has a good cookie recipe they would like to share, please do! :)

  • Delicious cookie recipe?

My school's annual cookie contest is coming up, and last year my chocolate macarons...weren't really macarons at all...so I want to make a better impression. Does anyone have a delicious and fairly easy cookie recipe that they would like to share? If possible, please give a recipe that you have successfully made before, not just a link to a recipe site. And no nuts please, as I am allergic to them. Thanks! =)

  • What to do with leftover pumpkin puree?

I have about 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree left over from when I made pumpkin spice cupcakes for Thanksgiving and I don't know what to do with it. It's not pumpkin pie filling, it's just canned pureed pumpkin. If anyone can give any recipes that would be great! Thanks!

  • Substitution for ground ginger and allspice?

I want to make this Pumpkin spice cupcake recipe but I don't have ground ginger or allspice. If I omit them, will that change the flavor? I looked up substitutions for both of them and the website said cinnamon or cloves, which is already in the recipe. So will it be okay if I omit them? Here's the recipe:

    2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

    1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

    1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

    1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    1 tablespoon baking powder

    1/2 teaspoon baking soda

    1/2 cup butter, softened

    1 cup white sugar

    1/3 cup brown sugar

    2 eggs, room temperature

    3/4 cup milk

    1 cup pumpkin puree

  • How to sharpen a blending stump?

My blending stump is..well..stumpy, it's no longer pointy (I don't think I use it correctly haha), is there a special sharpener? Or how do I sharpen it? It's a very thick stump, maybe a little thicker than an index finger. Thanks!

  • How to draw realistic hair?

I love drawing realistic portraits (btw if anyone wants to check out my drawings my Instagram is @artistsprofile , I just started the account), but I have trouble drawing hair. I've been watching video tutorials and everyone said to focus on the entire shape, and not just every individual hair, but I find it very hard to do that. If anyone has any hair/hair highlighting tips, it would be very helpful! Thanks!
