I bought a laptop from my school, which I do not have to give back when I leave. It's mine, and I can take it home with me etc. However, I am unsure if they are allowed to check my history or not? I haven't heard of them doing this before, and I haven't been on any inappropiate websites, but I am curious. Would they be allowed to?9 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks8 years ago
Any time I put a GameCube game into it, it never gets more than 10 minutes in (and for it to even get 10 minutes is a feat) before it stops and the screen turns black with this white message saying theres an error and I need to refer to the GC manual. Which, of course, I don't have. This is all of the GameCube games, by the way, not just one.
Any time I play a Wii game now, I lose control of my character. They'll walk in circles or do the same action over and over again. I can't stop it, none of the buttons work (Not even the Wii Home option) and I have to turn the Wii off!
It has been making this loud buzzing/droning noise whenever I play it for about a year or two now. I read somewhere that it's because dust is in the fan, I don't know. I'm gonna get it fixed soon, but if the droning stops, will the games and controls work normally again? How can I get these weird glitches to stop?
Thanks.3 AnswersNintendo Wii10 years ago
This is for the Gamecube, by the way. I'm planning on stocking up on GC games for those long, winter months that are approaching :P Never actually played either of these games, but I adore Sonic (And Shadow, of course) :P1 AnswerVideo & Online Games10 years ago
Hello. I'm 14 years old, and for the past few years (since I was like, 10 or so) I have been experiencing constant feelings of intense lonliness. Even when I'm around people, I still feel so bad. Why do I feel like this? It's not that I'm isolated, I mean, I have close friends and a family, but I feel so horrible and I don't know why.
I've told my Mum recently that I'm feeling this way, but I couldn't explain it because I just couldn't put it into words. That, and I don't think she understood at all. She didn't seem to, even though she clearly wanted to help, so I just left it.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and I have to wonder: is Christianity selfish?
I mean, the majority of Christians (including myself) are only obeying the commandments, and going to church/mass regularly because they believe it will guarantee them a place in Heaven, or wherever you go when you die. A lot of them only turn to God truly in time of need, I know of no one who actually puts power into their prayer normally, they just seem to drone it out.
Of course, there are some who adore the religion and do good deeds simply for the happiness of others, but it seems to me most people want something out of it. Like eternal life. This seems so...selfish to me.
I myself am Christian, though I can't say I'm a very devoted one.26 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade ago
I get hiccups at the most inconvinient times, like during a silent class, and it's very embarrassing. What triggers them, and what is the fasest way to get rid of them? I usually hold my breath, since I don't want to ask to go get some water, and it usually works...eventually. Any quicker way, or a way to avoid them altogether?8 AnswersAlternative Medicine1 decade ago
I know it's a weird question, but it came to mind recently while reading the books. Is there even a name for that blood-status?
Yes, I'm a nerd :P11 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade ago
I read it about a year ago, and absolutely loved it.
It was about Snape and Harry, and they started up the Occulemacy lessons again. Snape comes to like Harry more, although he doesn't show it. I believe Harry gets caught in an ally with Voldemort at the start, and Snape has to call the Order. Also, at the end/in the middle, Snape gets discovered as a spy and Harry sees him being tortured to death in his vision. They get him, and Harry's sitting by his bedside when he wakes up.
Theres a sequel too, and Harry ends up defeating Voldemort by fighting him mentally, and he and Snape have to kill off everyone who has a Dark Mark. Voldemort doesn't have Horcruxes, the Dark Mark on people is what makes him immortal.
Does anyone know the name - or link - to this story? It was on Fanfiction.net, but no matter how hard I try, I can't find it again. Please?1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade ago
But I have a problem with the whole e-mail thing. See, I'm kinda confused. Is there any way, once you've signed up, to not allow people to send you mail? Or see you e-mail address? My e-mail has my full name in it, so I'm a little wary (I'm 13).
Can anyone help? (I had no idea which category to put this in)5 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade ago
Alright, so I'm a 14 year old Christian. Problem is, I'm starting to doubt that belief. I have been raised Christian, I be taught Christianity in my Religion classes. But it seems I'm just...expected to follow it blindly, if you get what I mean. I believe there is a God, who has created us. I just don't know if it is who I'm being taught about.
I brought this up to my Mum about two years ago, and she got really angry, saying that I was raised Christian and I should believe in God. Not that I don't, of course. I still go to chapel and all with her, but I don't listen to it. I'm just there.
I do believe in some of the ten commandments, but some of the things my religion is based on are just obsurd. Can anyone give me any advice as to what I should do? Because this doesn't really seem like my sort of lifestyle.11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade ago
I was listening to a song on MTV Rock the other day, and I really got into it. I was a new rock song, with a female singer. The girl was young, with bleach blonde hair in the video. She may have had black streaks at the front, I'm not sure. It wasn't Paramore or anything, I think the name started with D or K. No idea.

My Mum and I were looking through our old stuff today, and we found a few old toys. Problem is, they don't have the brand name anywhere. Here are a few descriptions.
One is a doll my Mum got in 1968. Curly blonde hair, with a rainbow-ish clasp. Cream sweater, blue and white checked skirt, white shoes and socks. Brown eyes, and makes a little squeak/crying sound when you tip it over. Yeah, it's meant to do that :P
Another is a deep blue teddy bear my brother and I had when we were little. It's stuffed with like...sponge or something. Kinda hard. Orange eyes. White ears, and ends of hands and feet. No tail. It doesn't sit like those other older teddies.
And the last one is an Indian Porcelian Doll from Princess House. It's got a little certificate with it, and that's got the name 'Shenandoah' written on it. 49 CM tall. I tried looking it up on Google, but I didn't get anything...
Probably none are worth much, but I'm interested to see what make they are. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)2 AnswersToys1 decade ago
Does anyone know if internet connection matters to the speed of the downloads? I wish they'd hurry up, they're taking days. I found that, when I took my laptop down to beside the router for a while, it seemed to speend up a little. Does internet connection matter at all?3 AnswersSoftware1 decade ago
There's a guy in my class who won't back off. I know he likes me, he's made it very obvious and he's even told my friends. But he keeps sitting beside me on the bus, talking to me in class, even yelling over to me. And, to make it worse, he has asked me and my friends twice to go to the cinema with him and his friends. The first time my friends said yes without asking me. We pulled out at last minute because I didn't want them to try and set me up with him. Then I was talking to my friend the other day about how I was going to see This Is It in cinema with my friend from a different school. He comes barging over and butts in, saying "Wow! This Is It! I wanna see that. Hey! We should all go together! You can bring your other friend!". I ended up telling him I was going with my friend, and just her.
Today on the bus he finally sat somewhere else, but yelled over to me -_- How can I get him to back off without saying it to his face? He sits beside or near me in a few classes, and my friends are constantly talking to him, even letting him follow them at our disco. That's why I haven't been going out the past few months, they'll try to set me up with him and I'd rather not be followed. Help?3 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade ago

My room is currently pale pink with yellow at the top and mermaids -_- It's getting a make-over soon, but I need some ideas. I like Hot Pink, but I can't paint it entirely that 'cause my Mum doesn't want me to. Any ideas for colors?5 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade ago
