  • Proper punishment for such a horrible crime?

Has anyone been following the story of the little 5 year old girl that had been missing in North Carolina. Her mother supposedly sold her into the "Sex Trade" for prostitution and they had been searching for her for the past week. I just read where they found her body in a wooden area along a road. This has literally made me sick! I think who ever does any type of crime against a child, should be prosecuted quickly and put to death. What are your feelings about such horrible crimes against children?

Here is the article.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091116/ap_on_re_us/us... God bless this precious little angel.

  • Do you celebrate your dog's birthday?

Does anyone out there celebrate their dog's birthday? Our dog turned 13 today and I bought him a cake at the local pet supply store. (It's made out of bisquits and decorated with carob icing--says Happy BarkDay). Our daughter bought him special treats and a new pull toy.

I guess we're just so thankful to celebrate having this precious 13 year old in our lives.

So, do you do anything special for your pets on their birthdays?

  • Is your town planning a 9/11 Memorial?

Is any type of memorial planned in your town in remembrance of the people that lost their lives on 9-11-01? Our town has a service each year at the Gazebo in the center of town. However, each year all of the churches in the area attend the service, but are not allowed at the Gazebo to speak nor pray. They have to set up next to the Gazebo in the town's "Free Speech Zone" and have their service at 6:30 and the town's service is at 7:00. A majority of the community will not stay for the 7:00 service due to the seperation. All of the neighboring towns hold a joint service, but our town insists that anything that is religious in any nature what so ever (the mention of God) has to be done in the "Free Speech Zone". Do you have to tolerate such behavior where you live? It's sad that our town has lowered themselves to this level.

  • Today would have been my Mom's 77th Birthday.?

Today would have been my Mom's 77th Birthday. She passed away in 2001 and I did have my little crying moments today. Do you find that you still miss your parents, no matter how long they've been gone? My Mom was the one person I could tell anything to or ask any question. She never passed judgement and loved her family with such unconditional love. The pain has subsided after almost 8 years, but some days, I just can't quit thinking about her and missing her. Anyone have these feelings on certain days of the year?

  • What to mix with chocolate for drizzling?

What do you mix with melted chocolate to use it for drizzling? I made popcorn last night for Valentine's Day gift bags and melted white, pink and red chocolate discs to drizzle on it. It didn't drizzle very well, mostly clumped on. The popcorn was delicious, but for future reference, how can I make a drizzle chocolate?

    Thanks for any advice!

  • Engine problems? 2001 Pontiac Grand Am

We have been looking at a 2001 Grand Am SE with a quad 4 engine. Some mechanics I have talked to said that they have had problems with this particular brand of vehicle with bad engines/head gasket leaking or other engine problems. On the other hand, I have read some good reviews regarding this car. The seller is asking $2900.00 and the vehicle is in very good condition. It rides smooth and quiet, has 61,000 miles on it and is within our budget for a vehicle at this time. We will also be purchasing an extended warranty. We're looking for opinions from anyone that may have or had this vehicle. Have you had any major problems with it, or has your experience been good? I have come to the conclusion that practically every car has some sort of deficiency or another. I would really welcome any input.

    Thanks!

  • Antifreeze leak from intake head on motor.?

I have a 2000 GMC Safari van. I was told by my mechanic that the intake head on the motor has a slight leak of antifreeze. He said that the gasket is what is going bad and it would cost $500.00 to have it repaired. Are there any other options other than tearing the top of the motor down or is that the only way to repair the leak?

  • Lustre Craft cookware?

I purchased a set of LustreCraft cookware before I got married. The set will have been in use since 1974 (34 years) in July. Just wondering if anyone else has a set of cookware that has lasted this long. I purchased it from a salesman that came to the house and received a set of china, crystal and silverware with the cookware. I think it was in the price range of $500.00. It's still in perfect condition. Has anyone else gotten this much use from a set of pots & pans?

  • Looking for a Christmas movie, but can't remember the name of it?

We're looking for a movie that used to be shown quite frequently during the Christmas season. Mary Steenburgen was in it, and an angel called Gabriel. Her children supposedly drown in a car accident, but it turned out they hadn't really died. It's been so long since we've seen it and I can't remember too many more details. Anybody have any idea what this movie was called. They don't have it on TV anymore, and I was going to try to find it on E-bay!! Thanks for your help!
