Two weeks ago I had a first date at my favorite restaurant in Pasadena. It was terrible and I guess I was in a rush to leave. When I realized I left my near new Ray Bans, I called them and they said they found them. I advised them that I would return in two weeks and they said that they'd be happy to keep them safe until then.
Today was two weeks later and they can't find them... Do you think they owe me a replacement pair? I was a paying customer and entrusted my property to them-through their negligence they lost it, I believe they are liable... (bailment for hire/negligence)4 AnswersLaw & Ethics7 years ago
I believe that I was given a salvaged 01 330i engine instead of mine being remanufactured. I located the serial number of the engine which was located on the left side up past the steering knuckle. It is 25649405. My VIN is WBAAV53431FJ68566. Isn't this a mismatch or is there some decoding that needs to be done? Thanks in advance!3 AnswersBMW7 years ago
I've had these cards since late 60's and can't identify them on any online resource which makes them pretty rare I believe. They may have been from a Kellogg's cereal box. They are in mint condition-can any of you baseball guru identify/value them please? They are 3.75 x2.75

I found this nest under one of the eaves today. I don't want to disturb it unless it's dangerous/harmful..

I have an idea that takes an existing service and applies it to the online dating market as a premium product/badge. Any ideas on how to protect my idea?
I don't believe this is patentable as it's a combination of two existing products. In your experience, would creating a website promoting this idea serve as notice? Any ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated.1 AnswerGoogle8 years ago

I have registered a website name for a dating site that will use some innovative features. I can't get the site up and running until I bring people on board.
Is there a way to patent/copyright my idea first to protect this intellectual property?

I work for a successful company that is trying to cut costs as many are. As a result, I am essentially being demoted to a position I held 5 years ago-it is a very high stress position that puts my health at risk and my doctor has forbidden me to do this function.
I realize that work is on an at-will basis, but if I have my doctor's certificate can the company separate me if I tell them that I can not do this work? Do they have any legal duty to try to accommodate me? I am a very successful and productive employee and am in very good standing.

Hello-I'm wondering if my parents need to file a Federal or State tax return. Other than Social Security, my dad (84) gets $2292 in pension annually. My mom (80) who is in a nursing home gets $437 per month in pension after insurance is deducted ($578 per month pre-deductions).
Your help is greatly appreciated!5 AnswersUnited States1 decade ago
Not to sound cheap, but I feel an independent muffler shop will charge me up for a minor issue and wonder if any of you have taken a perfomance exhaust to Midas. I'll cough up the dough if you think Midas sucks...3 AnswersPorsche1 decade ago

My 987 is a "garage king" that I drive only a few times a week. I see a tiny drop of oil when I bring back home and wonder if I should take it into shop for that. It got checked out a few months ago and got a clean bill of health and has no other issues. Do I suffer from the worry syndrome many of us have or should I take it in $$$ ?10 AnswersPorsche1 decade ago
On Wednesday, I got rear-ended by a drunk driver who accepted full liability before being carted away to the pokey. We duly exchanged insurance info and I'm retaining an attorney next week. The CHP made a report also. Do I still need to contact my insurance or can my attorney take care of that? Strictly speaking, my insurance card states "to make a claim" which I am not doing since clear liability vests with the other driver.6 AnswersInsurance & Registration1 decade ago
I have an '01 Boxster that just got its 60K service, everything was fully checked out-cleared with flying colors. I noticed a little fluid recently-a buddy said probably just an air conditioning discharge.
Last night after I got home, it sounded like rain system under my car . In one fell swoop, the coolant is all gone, some minor moisture on the cap. Temp gauge held steady at 180 all night, no warning signs. This is my first issue with the car...
1. To get the car to a mechanic, should I refill with water or Porsche authorized antifreeze?
2. From what I described, does it sound like a blown hose, pump (gulp) or something else?
3. How much should any of those fixes cost?

I just bought a customized Boxster with a Custom Maxflo Dual Exhaust System. I love the roar of this system but my girlfriend says it's a little too loud at times. Is it possible to dial down the volume or do I give her an ultimatum? If it's possible, how much would it cost to do so?3 AnswersPorsche1 decade ago
Quick question, I test drove a '00 XK8 recently and there was some vibration and slight noise towards the front right wheel.
The guy I'm buying it from said it hadn't been driven for some time and as a result something happens with the bushings sometimes and he said he'll replace it. The guy's a mechanic, is willing to give me a full warranty and the Carfax is very clean.
Does his story sound plausible?1 AnswerOther - Car Makes1 decade ago
