Here are some details about the home: The front of my house faces direct east & when you stand in the doorway facing inside the house, you are facing direct west. My bedroom is in the basement, in the southwest corner of the home & when you open the door to my bedroom, you are facing direct west. My question is WHAT DIRECTION SHOULD I PUT MY BED? North-South OR East-West?
Also, what direction is best to sleep toward in my situation-in other words, what direction should the crown of my head be toward when lying down in bed?
Tried to look this up on-line & it got way too involved-different types of feng shui, finding numbers, ect. I know this CAN be a complex question-I'm looking for a simple & general answer. I appreciate anyone's help in advance!

The tag says DO NOT DRY CLEAN (in all caps on tag). Instructions are gentle wash & tumble dry. I'm confused about the type of detergent- do you have to use special down detergent? What about the new all-natural detergents-since they are supposed to be more gentle-can I use that instead of buying special detergent? Keep in mind the jacket is white.
I know about the tennis balls in the dryer thing-but can I use fabric softener?
Does anyone have experience with this? I got some info from ehow.com that were pretty good, but I want to be sure I don't ruin this coat.2 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade ago
Can I call the salon & specifically ask for a gay man? If so, what is the "proper" way to do that? I don't want to be offensive...4 AnswersHair1 decade ago
I am going to seek some kind of medical attention tomorrow morning. But, until then... I have acrylic nails & one broke really low down like 3 days ago. I cut it off-it hurt, but not incredibly bad. I don't remember it hurting at all the rest of that day. All of a sudden-it is throbbing & hot-it is extremely painful. I cannot put pressure on it, it hurts more when I go outside (it's freezing). I know this sounds like an infection, but there's no green or yellow discoloration or puss- it's just red & almost a little purple & swollen. Is this serious enough to go to the ER? Making an appointment with my regular doc is very hard-no chance I'd be able to get in tomorrow-just trust me). Honestly, it hurts so bad-I probably won't be able to wait.
Could it be an infection or something else? Also-it seems like a lot of my nail cuticles are extremely red & also bleeding. That isn't so unusual for me, but they seem to hurt more than they ever had. Any ideas?2 AnswersFirst Aid1 decade ago

My blood work has shown that I have an abonormal ratio of "t-something cells" to "t-something else cells" and that I am hyperthyroid. I need to see an endocrinologist to see what is causing the overactive thyroid and have an appointment in a week. I haven't gotten the ultrasound yet.
I am freaking out. I have a 6yr old and a 4 month old and I'm so scared and anxious. I keep thinking this may be a major medical situation and what if...
Anyway, my pulse is normal and my blood pressure is always on the low average. Doesn't that contradict being hyperthyroid?
Is this common for women post-partum? Does it go away on its own or is this a permanent condition? I am so nervous...3 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade ago
Like every 5-10 minutes when he's sleeping. I don't let him out of my sight when he's awake. I'm so afraid of something happening. I know what I'm feeling is a bit unreasonable and beyond normal standards. I think maybe it's because he's already had a high fever and 2 colds, but the doctor says thats because of my 6 yr old bringing home germs. Then I think I worry because I just stopped breastfeeding, so I think now something is going to happen to him since he isn't getting the benefits of breastmilk (I breastfed for 4 months). Does anyone else worry this much? I can hardly go 10 minutes without getting up, going to the bedroom and checking him and his breathing. All this & I have a baby monitor sitting right here. Am I crazy?12 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade ago
I'm getting a cut & style at a regular salon & can't afford to get highlights, so I was thinking of getting the highlights done at the beauty school by my house. Anyone know how much it will cost at the school? Can I trust the students to do a good job?5 AnswersHair1 decade ago
I'm going to get my hair done at a salon for the first time in ages. One of my friends has cut my hair for years & she has moved out of state. I want to get a cut with highlights and lowlights. How much will this cost? Like, what is the average?
Thanks!6 AnswersHair1 decade ago
I am constantly worried about my milk drying up or my supply decreasing. My 1 month old is now sleeping 5-6 hrs at night, so I am nursing less. Also, I occasionally give a bottle when we're out (not very often though). I'd like to avoid using my pump since I'm nursing every 2-3hrs during the day. Do I need to worry or is my milk supply "well-established"?

My baby is one month old today & I've been nursing him since birth. I nurse him almost exclusively-he has had formula, but no more than 2oz per day and he doesn't have formula every day-only when breastfeeding is inconvenient (when we're out, etc). Every time I have to give him a bottle I feel very guilty and scared that I'm going to sabatoge breastfeeding. After one month of nursing 8-10 times in 24 hrs, is my supply considered "well-established"? Will my supply substantially decrease or dry up if I don't nurse for one feeding?4 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade ago
I have a 5 yr old and a 3 week old. My 5 yr old has the stomach flu and has been vomiting & is running a fever (100.7 F). How can I prevent my 3 week old from catching the flu? Has anyone ever had one of their older children get the flu and the baby never got it? Also, I'm breastfeeding, so does that prevent my baby from getting the flu?6 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade ago
My boyfriend is taking a blood drug test next week. He hasn't smoked for about 2 1/2 weeks. Before the 2 1/2 weeks, he was a moderate smoker (a bowl per day/ a couple hits per day). At the time of the test, he will have been drug-free for a little over 3 weeks. What are the chances he will pass? He has been drinking a moderate amount of water and juice to flush the system. I know they say that it takes about a month (give or take) for marijuana to get out of system, but since he wasn't a heavy smoker, will 3 weeks be enough?17 AnswersAlternative Medicine1 decade ago
What happens if I don't give consent for the police to search my car at a regular traffic stop (speeding, blowing a stop sign, etc...)? In the past (& when I was younger), I've been arrested for possession of marijuana because either I admitted to having it in my car or let them search because I figured they'd just get a K-9 anyway. Now that I no longer smoke & no longer have anything illegal in my car, next time I'm asked I will NOT consent to a search. Will this piss the police off? Will they end up giving me a ticket whereas if I had cooperated, I might have only ended up with a warning? I don't plan on being rude, I just won't consent to a search of my vehicle & since there will be nothing illegal, I don't care if they get a K-9. (Hopefully I won't get pulled over, but, I was just wondering, what if...)19 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade ago
who else has had this & did you go into labor naturally or did you have to be induced? Since I had a previous c-section, I can't be induced, so I'm wondering if I should just forget about the VBAC and schedule a c-section... Any experiences/suggestions?6 AnswersPregnancy1 decade ago
What are some signs that labor will begin soon? I'm not asking for signs of labor or obvious signs of labor-like water breaking, contractions, losing mucus plug, I'm asking for some of the more subtle signs that labor will begin soon.3 AnswersPregnancy1 decade ago
I'm 34 weeks pregnant & was wondering how many other pregnant women stopped wearing make-up, etc. during pregnancy. Before becomming pregnant, I would wake up extra early to get myself ready-makeup, hair, outfit. Now, I go every day in sweats, no makeup & my hair up in a bun or clip. It's like I've lost interest in my personal appearance. Has anyone else had this experience & did it go away after pregnancy? I want to fix myself up, but have absolutley no motivation to do so...13 AnswersPregnancy1 decade ago
I am almost 34 weeks pregnant & have been feeling increasingly depressed. I had postpartum depression with my first child & am scared of getting it this time also-only I have a feeling it will be worse this time since it seems to be starting now. I was on anti-depressants before becomming pregnant & have been off of them since becomming pregnant. I want to breastfeed, but I know that I can't take the meds I was taking while breastfeeding. What is available for depression while breastfeeding? I can't take St.John's Wort due to an allergy.
BTW-Many people associate postpartum depression with a mother harming her new child. That is not what I'm talking about here. I never felt like that at all-that's psychosis-not depression!13 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade ago
I am 31 weeks pregnant & I've been wanting to do nothing but lie down & nap. Sometimes I actually fall asleep, sometimes I just lay down. I get plenty of sleep at night, I eat right & I take my vitamins. I don't remember feeling this way when I was pregnant with my son 5 years ago.
