We have a newborn and would prefer not using chlorine bleach, or other chemicals. We've soaked and washed, but the stains remain. Any advice?11 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade ago
My parents and grandparents tried taking me to church when I was young, and I always thought it was dumb. I did lots of eye rolling and thinking, "you can't be serious", even as an nine year old. I'm probably more of an agnostic than an atheist. I imagine there might be a bigger "something" out there, but the dogma is tough to swallow with a straight face. And the idea that the guy standing at the front wearing a robe knew any more than the next guy about what was going on in the universe did not compute.10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade ago

It seems that's a bit of a mixed message, at best. Even if it's a hybrid, it's consuming far more fuel than a smaller car would.

I'm sure he's got some religious fans. Others may remember him for his opposition to stem-cell research. He was also immortalized in the move "The People v. Larry Flynt". Personally, I will remember him for blaming 9/11 on "feminists, gays, lesbians, and liberal groups".23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade ago
Lately, it seems the hammer has been coming down on people for "violations" in Yahoo! Answers. In some cases, people have had their entire accounts deleted (not just access to Answers, but email and everything else).
For me, that would be catastrophic, since I use my Yahoo! email for everything. Recently, I received a violation, and I have no idea why (no response yet from Yahoo!). I like Answers, but I'm not sure it's worth risking losing my entire account.
Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Why doesn't the mainstream media cover Iraqi civilian deaths to the same extent as the Virginia Tech killings?
On a daily basis, the number of dead Iraqi civilians are comparable to the number killed at Virginia Tech. Imagine a Virginia Tech massacre happening every day! Why doesn't the media give more attention to the situation in Iraq?4 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade ago
Several states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington) have legalized the use of marijuana for medical purposes. Despite this, the Federal Government has cracked down on state-licensed growers and prosecuted them under federal drug laws.
Marijuana has proven both effective and economical for treating a multitude of illnesses.14 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade ago
Is it just me, or does it take an act of God to permanently remove the Language Bar from Windows XP?
I have changed the settings to remove the Language Bar from the desktop and taskbar on numerous occasions. It always seems to work for a while, and then eventually it returns when I restart. This has happened on several different computers. Any advice?2 AnswersSoftware1 decade ago
In N America, why is single-phase 240VAC called "single-phase" when it is comprised of two phases of 120VAC?
"Single-phase" 240VAC in North America is comprised of TWO phases of 120VAC which are 180 degrees out of phase with each other. In a 4-wire hookup, there are two phases of 120VAC, a neutral, and a ground. When you measure between the two phases of 120VAC, you get 240VAC.
In countries where the regular line voltage is 240VAC (such as Europe), there is a 3-wire connection with 240VAC, Neutral, and Ground. 240VAC to Neutral is really 240VAC.
Needless to say, the North American version is ambiguous and confusing. It would be more accurate to call it dual-phase 120VAC, or something like that. Again I ask, Why?6 AnswersEngineering1 decade ago
I think his self-hatred led to his drug abuse.
And for those in the "being gay is a choice" camp, why would Ted Haggard choose that?!?7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade ago
