  • Does anyone know what this kind of knife is called? What is its technical purpose?

My friend's roommate had a knife like this, and she fell in love with it. Now that the roommate is gone, I'd like to find her another, but I don't even know what it's called. The features she liked most were the offset handle and the completely flat blade.

  • Help Identifying Plant?

My plant is so heavy that it keeps tipping over. It's growing some root buds all up the central stalk, but I'm not really sure what to do with it at this time. I could look up some info in the internet, but I don't even know what it is! If anybody knows what kind of plant this is, that would really help me out! Thanks!

  • How do you prepare for the first day of school?

I'm a new teacher this year. I'll be teaching 9th and 11th grade English in an urban setting. I'm starting to get really nervous and wondering what kinds of things I should be doing right now to prepare. I haven't received any materials yet from my school - no curriculum, no textbook, nothing. Any advice from other teachers would be greatly appreciated!

  • My dog just started going potty in the house?

I recently adopted a lab / pit bull mix from my local animal shelter. She was 6 mo. old at the time. When we first got her, she was pooping when we were gone, so we crate trained her. Then, she was pooping upstairs when we were home. We gated off the upstairs. She seemed fine for a couple of weeks, but then for the last 3 days she has been going to the bathroom in the house ALL the time. I don't know what's going on. She first pooped inside right after I took her out three days ago, I assume because it was raining and she didn't want to be outside. Then, she's been peeing inside for two days. Once, she even did it all over one of our sofas. Any advice (other than kill / get rid of the dog) would be appreciated.

  • Ortho Try Cyclen Users / Medical professionals?

I've been taking Ortho Try Cyclen for almost a week now, and I think I'm having some serious side effects. My stomach hurts all the time, everytime I eat I get bad gas, no matter what it is, and I have really bad muscle aches all over. Does anyone know if this should go away soon? When they gave me the pills they said I might feel bad and not to stop taking them, but could something be seriously wrong? Any advice?

  • Keeping the cat down?

My cat keeps jumping on everything and breaking it. He gets on the windowsill and pushes the photo frames off, knicknacks, he knocks over the plants (and eats them!!), gets on the counters, etc. I have tried spraying him with water when he gets up, but that only stops him from doing it while I am watching. What can I do? I mean, he's keeping me up at night because of all the noise, and being destructive. We live in a 1 room apartment, so putting him in the basement isn't an option!

  • How can I find low-cost psychological counceling in my area?

I have come from a not-so-nice background and have a lot of issues that are really holding me back in life, and I am really interested in getting some help. The trouble is, I am a college student right now and am working two jobs just to get by, so I really can't afford big bills for a therapist. Does anybody know how I can find something affordable? I'm in Saginaw, MI, if that helps.

  • Being irresistable to an older man?

Ok, I know you guys are going to think this is the dumbest question ever, but how do I make myself (22) irresistable to an intelligent, chivalric early 30's man? I mean, I am after him pretty good, but if I just come out and try to jump him, that won't be very ladylike and I don't think that will work out too well. I'm pretty sure he's got the hots for me, but is too gentlemanly to get down and dirty. Any suggestions?

  • I am interested in a man who has been hurt pretty badly before?

I am 22 years old. I met this guy (33) in my class about a year ago. We started hanging out about two or three months ago, and now we talk almost every day and see each other like twice a week. We have a lot of things in common and I have never met anyone like him. I feel like I can't help but love him. He says that he feels strongly about me, too, but that he can't love anyone right now because of bad relationships in the past. He was engaged a little over a year ago and the %$!@$ cheated on him and then said she never loved him, so now he is afraid of women and says that he can't be in a relationship. I am a good girl, I don't drink and party or get around and am SO not that girl, and he says he knows that and that it's not about me. I really want him to give me a chance. Any advice out there?

  • Help! I'm allergic to so many things!?

I am allergic to at least somethingn every season and am constantly stuffed up and get sore throats. Most of the medicines either don't help or make me sick in some way (Allegra made me have cramps so bad I couldn't hardly walk, for example). I don't really need complete relief, but the sore throats really hinder me. Does anybody know of anything that can help a sore throat except lots of throat drops?
