I don't remember much of it, but it's an old movie (probably 70's or 80's) it's maybe fantasy most likely and all what i remember is people being taken prisoners, tied by their feet and dropped in a liquid, and when they come out, they're become a statue of bronze or something.
does that ring a bell to anyone? can you please give me the name of that movie?
on a separate note, i do remeber another scene but i dont know if its the same movie or not. it's about kids suddenly being in a forest at night and monsters kidnap their parents. Is that a different movie? if so can you also suggest names? Thanks2 AnswersMovies10 years ago
I was watching the following stocks since 2010 and noticed that they suddenly disappeared from the market a few days ago:
So what exactly happened? why can't I find them anymore on yahoo finance or Google finance web sites? I can't even find a trace of them when i esearch for them. did they go bankrupt? If i had bought those stocks in the past, would I have lost all my money today?2 AnswersInvesting10 years ago
I'm going next month as a tourist to Paris with my family (I am non-EU) and need to rent an apt in Paris for 4 people. Can I do on the spot or do I need to make a reservation a month ahead? Also, I heard some agencies require advance payment, however, I am worried to make the payment and not be able to reach Paris due to weather. Are there locations where I can rent a good apt for 4 people in Paris on the spot?
If so, please let me know the contacts, website etc...4 AnswersParis10 years ago

One is heavily banned while is the other is heavily marketed and sold in virtually any store you step into. Isn't nicotine virtually the same effect as other typical drugs? It can be addictive, can harm your body, and worse than drugs, cigarettes can harm second and third hand smokers with cancer and breathing problems. Seems to me if cigarette are legal, then drugs should be legal (under regulations of course) or both should be banned. But to have cigarettes legal and infect and hurt so many while drugs that harm less are illegal and their prohibition is creating a war that is virtually impossible to win.
So how come this is the case? Is it the lobbyists that were able to legalize the nicotine on the market in the first place? Who banned drugs and why didnt they ban cigarettes too? What if corporates found that they could heavily profit from selling pot and even worse, coke, then would they find a way to legalize it as they did with cigarettes?9 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade ago
I know it sounds like an obvious question but read my question well before you answer it:
Say I have to exercise on a 3 mile track (starting from A and finishing at B), and I have 2 options: Running the track or walking it.
The question is this: Will my body use more energy when running vs walking or will my body use the same amount of energy for either for the same distance?
So in the end, I am using energy to transport my body on a fixed track, and whether I choose to get there by putting a certain amount of effort for a certain amount of time or whether I choose to put more effort to get there for a lesser time, should I assume that in both scenarios my body used the same amount of energy or does one use up more than the other scenario?6 AnswersPhysics1 decade ago
I'm Canadian and got a job in Gabon in a reputable international company.
Is it safe to live and work in Gabon? Are there any risks that are typically known to foreigners?
Any advice and information will be greatly appreciated.

My plane will be landing in CDG in temrinal 2D and my fiancee's plane plane will be landing in terminal 2F on the same day and 5 minutes after me.
However I am trying to find a good location to meet her, preferable before we enter the country borders. is there a good place or landmark to meet? is the location where w epick our luggages the same for passengers for terminal 2F and 2D?
If we cannot meet before we enter the country, then can you give me an idea where we can meet after we cross the border in the airport? a famous landmark or restaurant would be good to know.

I'm going there in August with my fiancee for the first time and am not so sure what is the least amount of days to spend there so that we can see the most important things there and enjoy our time. I am thinking of spending 3-4 days there, is that enough?2 AnswersOther - France1 decade ago
i'm going to be spending 7 days in August in france with my fiancee and am looking for a town or city in France that is romantic, where there are nice things to do like museums, nearby wine tours, castles, horse riding, good cheese and great food (especially seafood), bike riding in the city and from town to town, going for picnics etc..
can anyone give some advice, share their experience, and possibly also send links ?3 AnswersOther - France1 decade ago
So I know that I need to get a confirmation from a hotel for my entire stay in france before i go to the interview for my visa.
But my question is this: Do i need to pay for my entire stay in advance or will the french embassy accept a hotel confirmation by fax showing that i paid only the down payment?
Please note that my questions is NOT on how the hotel should send their confirmation but on whether the embassy will accept a confirmation showing a partial payment vs a full payment.
I am worried that if i make the entire payment and if i don't get my visa, then i dont want to loose my money so i would prefer paying only the downpaymet, but if i do so, will the embassy accept this?
the french embassy's web site is very vague. pleas help me.2 AnswersOther - France1 decade ago

So I learned that i need to have a hotel reservation before I go to the french embassy to get my tourist visa to France this summer.
however, how does it work? I heard conflicting arguments...some ppl say that i should book a hotel room in advance and pay the FULL price before going to the embassy so that the hotel will issue a statement confirming my stay. Other opinions state that i can only make a normal reservation (I will pay after i stay).
Which option is true? if i need to pay in advance, I am afraid to loose all my money if i don't get the visa because several hotels in Paris said that the french embassies require that the hotel advance payment for the entire stay should be non-refundable (in order to ensure that ppl book , get the visa, then cancel once they get there). So what are my options?
Are there hotels in Paris which can refund my advance payment if i cancel ahead of time (more than 48 hours) due to not obtaining the visa? if there are hotels in Paris that do so, PLEASE share their names and contact info.6 AnswersOther - France1 decade ago
