  • What happens if I can't pay the tax penalty for not having health insurance?

I'd love to have health insurance for my wife and three kids. But as it is now and has been for the last few years we can barely pay our bills and literally have to skip meals sometimes. I understand the penalty for not having health insurance for a family the penalty would be $2,085 or 2.5 percent of household income, whichever is greater.

We also somehow make too much money for Government assistance in any form (not even food stamps!). I looked into insurance prices and they are quite a bit higher than the tax penalty.

I'm assuming if I can't pay that extra tax penalty, it would be treated like any other debt to the IRS and they will garnish my wages. But what if we have no regular paycheck for them to garnish?

Also is my assumption wrong? Is there different penalty for those who can't this specific tax penalty?

  • My Baby is obsessed with me?

I own a small web design and data development firm and work from home. Not by choice, long story, but working out of the home isn't an option.

Problem is my youngest son (almost 2), is becoming obsessed with me. When I'm not with him he just breaks into a crying or screaming fit every 10 minutes. I'm so stressed I can't think.

I have to concentrate very hard on my work. It's darn near 100% intellectual .I've got to focus on work more. We're getting desperately behind with income (only $1000 last month).

    Any advice?

    Dim conn As SqlConnection

    Dim cmd As SqlCommand

  • Is New Hampshire really "America's Freest State"? If not what state is?

I like freedom, sadly, there doesn't seem to be much of it in America, at least not the last three states I've lived in (Texas, Ohio, Florida).

  • Do Republicans even know they are supporting something other than Democracy?

Definition: Democracy - government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system.

Republic: Republic - a state in which the supreme power rests in the body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by representatives chosen directly or indirectly by them.

(from dictionary.com or any source you want) the point being the power in a democracy is in the hands of the people, in a republic it belongs to a small select group that may or may not represent the people.

Do you Republicans know that's what your party is about, taking power AWAY from the people and giving to a small powerful caste?

  • Why doesn't the sound work when I embed youtube, myspace etc videos into a web site of mine?

I've been embedding video, and flash for years, and sites like youtube and myspace make it easy with their player and embed code. However whenever I do emed a video into any site of mine there is no audio even though there is on the original site.

I would like to provide a link to an example but evidently that got this question deleted for violation of Yahoo answers quidelines.

Is there a tag I can add to the code? Surely it's not just me is it?

  • Is Rent to Own home buying always a scam?

Mamma always said "If it sounds too good to be true . . ." Besides I live in Florida and Rich folks, esp. landlords can pretty much get away with whatever they want so I don't trust them as far as I can throw them. But I have to live somewhere!

    So how does it work?

  • Will I get arrested at the airport for Child Support arrears?

I'm waay poor (<$20,000 / year) and have always had to choose between rent and child support. I've never been current but I do pay, just not as much as the state of Ohio wants. There has always been and always will be a warrant out for my arrest. Last time I went to court in Ohio to try and have it reduced they arrested me in the courtroom before it was my turn. They gave me 30 days but before I was released there was another warrant out for the missed apyments when I was in jail. Now I hear it's a felony in Ohio to be behind more than $1000 in Child support. And I am.

Now my Mother has died and I want to travel back to Ohio to attend the funreal. Will I get arrested when I arrive in Ohio?

Do they do the same TSA crap on the Trains too?

Please, if you don't know, don't quess. I really don't want to go to the joint and miss more payments, my kids need what little money ($150 a week - they want $350 a week, I only make $300-$325 a week) I'm paying them now.
