  • Hard Drive do I recover the outlook files if I cannot see them?

I'm wondering where the files go? I can hook up the hard drives to my computer and see all of my data files (via hooking up the HD as a slave or to a new HD or as an external HD via USB) , but I can't see all of the files in for my programs or my outlook files, at least not as .pst. I'm sure I'm a total newbie when it comes to data recovery, but is there a good/trustworthy program to get to recover all of my outlook files from past programs? I think most are outlook 2000. I'm so sad to lose these emails I kept from many years just from (apparently???) not backing them up? I simply would love to see what programs are on the hard drive as well as to recover my emails from the failed hard drives. I'm sure someone has a solution! (I hope!) It seemed to be so easy in past years. Sorry if this seems totally basic, or idiotic, but I've never had a problem in the past, and I always assumed (incorrectly it seems) that I could easily transfer my emails to a new hard drive after failure.

  • Curly Hair Style For Wedding; best way to acheive?

I've frizzy, thin hair, and I'd like to wear my hair in curls. What steps do you take to acheive nice smooth, long lasting curls? What products? Brands? Tools? I have some hot curlers, a hair dryer, a curling iron with a 3/4 inch barrel at my disposal. Should I buy a larger barrel curler? I like the styles that all of the women are wearing on TV and in movies. My hair holds curls well enough and is damaged from hair dye. Any suggestions?

  • Boot Up Stalling at Verifying DMI Pool...Windows XP. YoYo Boot sector Virus??

I'm running XP Professional. My boot stalls at Verifying DMI Pool and then it says "Y∞Y∞" and doesn't boot further. Looks like a boot sector virus, and I can only see a handful of instances of others with this in a search of the web.

If I take this hard drive out and put a previous one in with another OS on it (XP, etc), will it boot up? Then if I can get it to boot, might I be able to scan the HD with XP on it and back up my files before wiping and reformatting and reinstalling XP? Or should I just try to do a repair on XP first?

My first time dealing with a boot sector virus in 7 years. I've always used Anti-viral products. If you can't throw money at this problem, why even bother with purchasing "protection?"... sorry last part is a rant, my original questions still are valid I hope!

  • Example of a MS access database that can look up values and automatically enter them?

I want to have Access enter the values of city name and state abbreviation when I enter the zip code in a field. I have the database for the zip codes, but I need an example database of whatever linking or codes I have to perform to have these actions automated for me. The zip is entered and then the city and state fields are automatically looked up and the fields populated with the correct information. I can't find anything that is easy or clear online (probably because folks make their money off of their databases :-)). Anyone have their access database automated already? Or does anyone have a link to an existing database example that I could look at for a lead?

  • May I, or may I not use RAM made for Compaq in my EpOX Mobo?

I accidentally purchased 2 modules of KTC-EN133/256 thinking that any 256 SDRAM at 133 would do. Is the memory for Compaq not suited for my motherboard? I thought for certain it would work! Did I make a newbie error? My mobo is an EpOX

    Here's what I "need":

    Here's what I purchased:

Can I install it, or should I just sell it again on eBay?

  • How can I make the most of my AT&T DSL connection?

Do I need a faster ethernet card? I have the Elite service which as speeds up to 384 to 608 Kbps upstream. Does my network card determine how fast I download or upload (I have 10/100 right now)? Did I waste my time getting a faster upload since my card seems to be running at 100 Mbps? Thanks for any clarification or direction if I need a new card!

I need to make sure my personal address is canceled, but I don't see the cancel button on the My Services page and I don't recall ever cancelling it. I cannot find customer service's number and the help pages are not helpful.
