My husband has a ton of dishes we can make with pickled daikon radishes. He's half Japanese but can't remember if they keep for long or not because they never stayed long in his house. Today I went to a different asian market and bought some in bulk. I was wondering, it seems they'd last a long time since they are pickled but does anyone know how long they are good for or the best way to store them?5 AnswersEthnic Cuisine1 decade ago
My husband is half Japanese and I like to attempt to make Japanese dishes from time to time. I have several that call for pickled plums or pickled plum paste. I've looked at different international markets and can not find it. Finally, I asked and they called a much older gentleman over to help me. He led me to the salted plum brine. He said it's the same thing and that salted and pickled are translated the same. Is this correct? Are they the same or will I mess up the dishes if I try to use the salted plum instead of the pickled?2 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade ago

I've really been in the mood for eggplant. Now that we have one, I thought it may be nice to try a different dish with it. Really, I've only just had it fried. What's your favorite recipe using eggplant? Any ideas are welcome :)11 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade ago

My great grandmother's sister married my great grandfather's brother. So basically two sisters married two brothers. Make sense? Anyway the new family search website will let me put info in for my great grandparents and for their brother/sister but won't let me connect and show that their siblings married. (So basically Ollie married Prentis. Prentis has a brother named Earl. Ollie has a sister named Tennie. Tennie married Earl...if that helps you understand). I can input Tennie as Ollie's sister and can input Earl as Prentis's brother but then it won't let me connect that Tennie and Earl married. Any idea how to fix this or show the connection? If I just input them, it shows up as two people by the same name and not the connection. If I try searching for them, it won't let me connect them. Help?1 AnswerGenealogy1 decade ago

I'm having my gallbladder removed soon and was reading some risks online and came upon several articles that say removing your gall bladder increases your chance of colon cancer. Has anyone else heard this or know why?13 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade ago
We just went over 400 miles to bury my Grandma. The closest ward to Kennett, MO was Blytheville, Arkansas. The elders from that ward came and were pallbearers and helped with numerous things. We want to mail them a thank you card but we're not sure what mission that falls in...it could be Memphis, Nashville, Little Rock...we are not sure. Does anyone know how to find out and how to get the home mission address so we can mail it to them?3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade ago
My baby bearded dragon would eat a little salad when we first got him and now he refuses. He'd rather go hungry all day than try it. We've given him different types and even put it in a vibrating food dish. He just won't try it like he did when we first got him. I know crickets is his main staple right now but how much salad should he be eating?
My baby bearded dragon is shedding. I've read a few places you should bathe them in warm water once a day. How? Do you just put them in the water so they get wet? Do you actually rub on him? What do you actually do? I don't want to hurt him.
Also do you let him dry himself or how does that work as well?5 AnswersReptiles1 decade ago
My baby hypo translucent bearded dragon is shedding for the first time since we've had him. Do they always lose their appetite when shedding? He seems like he's got less of an appetite than usual.5 AnswersReptiles1 decade ago
Has anyone heard of or worked with the Herpetoligical Consultants International, Inc. before? http://www.herpconsultants.com/ is their website but I haven't found any more out about them and I usually try to thoroughly check into a place before contacting them. Anyone heard of them or worked with them before?
My cat was having an allergy to the cheap cat food we were buying him and we were recommended this brand and he liked the sample so we thought we'd go with it. However, we have a lot of cats and it's kinda costly....I was just curious if it's worth it? Has anyone else used this for their cat?2 AnswersCats1 decade ago
I have two pieces so I changed it today but it says to soak it with water and 5% zoo med wipe out 2 solution. Can I just mix a small amount of bleach instead? This solution isn't sold near here and I hate to wait until an ordered batch of it comes to clean the old carpet piece. Any suggestions on how to clean it? I've heard not to use soap. It's the zoo med cage carpet.4 AnswersReptiles1 decade ago
I found a larger cricket in my baby bearded dragon's cage. I'm assuming it hid under the carpet and somehow has been coming out and eatting the salad and drinking the water is how he's lived in there and gotten this large. Anyway, when I went to feed my baby bearded dragon (he or she is a little over a month old, going on two months) today, he ran from his baby crickets. That's when I saw the big one hiding. I cleaned his tank and made sure there were no more crickets hiding. Then I just gave him fresh water, salad, and pellets. Finally I gave him some more very small crickets and he ran from them. But then he acts like he's hungry and will eat them but only if they don't come towards him. If it comes towards him, he runs from the cricket. Do you think he was bit by the larger cricket and now fears them or is this behavior normal? Should I take away all crickets for a few days? I don't want the little guy to go hungry as he barely picks at his salad and pellets...but I don't want to scare him with crickets either. Suggestions?
I work nights so I can't really be around to watch my crickets all the time. How do I know when they've laid eggs? Do I just check the soil every so often or what? How do you know when to move the eggs out to a different spot? And if they aren't overcrowded, can you leave the eggs or will the males always eat them? Thanks so much!
