  • I don't know whats happening?

Hi, I am 13 years old

My mum and Dad are always fighting, almost every day...

My little sister, who is 10, always starts crying and tells them to stop...

My dad always swears, even when she is around.

He gets so angry at me, last weekend he started yelling at me, so I wouldn't get in the car, so he threw a spoon and a lunch box at me and my glasses.

He threatened to punch me when my shoes were too loud on the stairs.

He hit me when I accidentally sat infront of my sister infront of the TV...

Just now, he threw something at my mum, and they were shouting.

My mum told him to leave but he hasnt

My sister started crying and shouting "Stop fighting!"

I went into her room and tried to calm her down then i went and told my parents to stop fighting because they were making her cry. Now I'm crying but im trying not to for my sister.

I don't know whats happening...I think they were arguing about money this time...

    What should I do?

    Does anyone know whats happening?

    Only serious answers Please.

    Thankyou

  • I'm scared my friends will show off about Gymnastics Competitions?

Two of my closest friends have been invited to a gymnastics competition in another country!

I am very upset because I asked my mum if I could join gymnastics, and she said no, but if she said yes, I would have been going to the other country to participate in the Gymnastics Competition. Where I live, it is SO unlikely to go to competitions, and its a really long competition they are going to. They are missing school and I don't have that many friends, so when they return, they will just go off by themselfs and talk about what they did, without trying to include me (this happened before when they went on a trip together)...

I am so worried they will talk about it all the time, because when something good happens to them, thats all they talk about and don't pay attention to anyone else. :( I am scared they will both gang up on me and exclude me in everything they do... :(

They just found out today, and I already have so many messages from her talking about what they will wear, what fun it will be, what to pack, what they'll do, how long it is, where it is, who else has been chosen....

What should I do if they start to exclude and gang up on me?

  • My friend wants to be a professional dancer?

My friend wants to be a professional dancer. I do not mean to sound rude or vain, but to be honest, neither me or her are amazing dancers. I have no problem with her wanting to be a professional dancer, however I think its very unlikely. I understand that dancers have a very specific body type, and I know for a fact that neither of us have that body type. She is 13, and takes 4 dance classes a week (1 modern Grade 5 - 45 mins, 2 ballet Grade 5- 45 mins and 1 contemporary- 1 hour). Her mum is trying to make her be better by signing her up for more dance classes (which would be at a different studio). I know that even if you have the perfect body, it is extremely hard to become a professional dancer, and since she does not have that body, I worry that her mum is setting her up for a job that she will most likely never achieve. I am also worried that she will not be picked for the other studios competition team (she goes to two studios so that she can take contemporary classes). She is set up to think that she can be in the competition team, and it is very unlikely because other dancers at that studio are very good, and knowing her, this would make her very upset. Also, she misses classes because she is too tired from school, or has more than 2 pieces of homework. Staying at our studio, she would go on pointe (if she did) at the age of 16.

Even though I only take 4 classes a week, I practise every day, and hire a dance studio on sundays for 2-3 hours and practise everything. I also condition and stretch every day.

Is it possible that she could become professional?

How can I improve so that she does not show off about her taking more classes?

I apologise if I sounded rude or vain- it was not intended.

    Thankyou :)

  • Is this a good dance/gymnastics conditioning routine?

My friend and I want to become slimmer and more muscular. Here is our conditioning routine that we have vowed to do every night. We run on sundays, and have a healthy balanced diet.

    100 sit ups

50 leg ups (lie down and lift both your legs up to 90 degrees and lower them again)

    100 calf raises

    60 push ups

    40 hand stand push ups

20 hand stand come off walls (go into a hand stand next to a wall and push against the wall to a handstand then fall back onto the wall and repeat)

Hold plank as long as you can

Hold Bridge as long as you can

Hold wall sit as long as you can

hold hollow body pose as long as you can

Hold left splits for 2 minutes

hold right splits for 2 mins

hold middle splits for 2 mins

sometimes we will do more exercises, and almost all the time we will stretch more afterwards.

Is this a good daily routine?

Also, do you have any exercises to get thinner thighs?

    Thankyou! :)

  • Summer Intensives in the UK?

Next summer, I was thinking of applying for a Summer intensive, or a summer dance school.

So far, these are the ones my family and I know about:

    -RAD summer school

    -RAD performance course

    -Royal ballet (whitelodge)

My dance teacher said the Royal ballet summer course is harder to get into than the RAD ones.

Should I apply for all of them and see which I get in?

What should I wear in the summer course?

What do they look for in the applications?

Are they very hard to get in to?

What should I expect it to be like?

Do you think I will be able to make friends there?

Sorry I have so many questions!

    Thankyou to all answers!

p.s. If this helps, I am 13 years old, RAD grade 6 ballet and ISTD Grade 6 modern and I started pointe a month or so ago :)

  • How can I strengthen for jumps?

I do ballet and modern and all of my jumps (split leaps, pardecha -sorry for incorrect spellings!- and just general other jumps or leaps) are VERY loud. If anyone has some exercises I could do (I have a theraband) to make my jumps quieter? Thankyou! :)

    p.s. I'm 13 if that helps anything

    Hi!

My friend and I just made a youtube account (about 2 months ago). It is a dance and gymnastics account. We are having trouble getting an audience and thinking of videos to make. We have made some tutorials. We were wondering what videos you would like to see. :)

Any suggestions are very appreciated! :)

If you would like to see any of the videos or the channel (please subscribe!), here is a link:

  • Can someone give me a good strengthening routine please (Dance)?

I do ballet (and pointe) and modern classes every week, I also do a pilates class. I only just started pointe, and I really do not want to injure myself to soon! Can anyone provide any exercises (i have a theraband if that helps) to help me strengthen the muscles needed for good, clean pointework? Please note, I am not allowed to go on pointe when I am at home, but I am allowed to wear my pointe shoes. Also, I have terrible pirrouettes! My dance teacher said to strengthen my core muscles, but I am not entirely sure how to... Occaisonally I do sit ups (100) but I never have any motivation, and always forget to!

Please can anyone give me some exercises to help and also how many and how often to do them.

    All answers are appreciated :)

    p.s. I am 13
