  • Has anyone here actually lied on their resume? Is it wrong? And is it easy to get caught in it?

I was thinking about "stretching" my education background on my resume. I'm 39 years old and only went to college a short time due to family obligations. I have worked in the same field over 20 years. After this amount of time, I'm sure either I would have forgotten the unnecessary classes from college (biology, human physiology, ancient Greek architecture) or learned what I missed (business management, psychology 101, accounting). I have been successful in my field, have all my certifications up to date in my field, but have hit a "glass ceiling" because I do not have a BA, just a diploma from a technical school. Do most employers actually check into schooling of a more "seasoned" applicant or am I risking too much?

  • How do you fix your life when you don't know where or how to start?

My life is a mess. I'm locked in a marriage that is unhealthy but I cannot afford to leave financially. I'm stuck in a job that I hate. My house got foreclosed on. My car was repo'd. And I have bad credit due to a previous divorce and some resolved legal problems. I've prayed, cried, tried talking to people but I don't know what to do. My family is no help due to infighting after my mother's passing. (None of us talk to the other.) All I know is I have to do something before I lose my mind.

  • how do you talk to your child about masturbation?

I walked in accidentally on my 11 year old step daughter this afternoon. She doesn't realize it. She thinks that she got covered up in time while she was examining herself. My wife doesn't know what to do and my only experience is in dealing with my son.My wife and I agree that it's no big deal and that all kids examine and experiment, learning who they are. It's not my conversation to have, but my wife keeps asking me what to say. She's too embarassed to ask her own mom and at least on yahoo noone really knows who you are.

  • How do you cope in an interracial marriage when your spouse doesn't want to accept her family is biggotted?

My wife is black and I am white. The problem is her mother's side of the family. When my wife is with them, she becomes, for a lack of a better term , ghetto. But, when she is with her father's side, they act more like normal society; ie. dignified and with couth. Thanksgiving was a nightmare for me. Her mother's side started telling white jokes at the dinner table and then after, put in a DVD of a comedian who went on for over 30 minutes "cracker bashing." Her father just recently moved out of state so we are stuck with her mother's side. I begged her not to commit us to Christmas dinner with her mom, but to no avail. I tried to express my feelings, asking her how she'd feel if she were with my family and they started telling "*** ger" jokes. She said she understands, but insists on putting me through this again. Any help on this ratially insensitive group would really help me. It's causing quite a strain on our relationship.

  • Is it common practice for a hospital to give a urinalysis before an xray to check for pregnancy?

The reason I ask is my wife is at the ER with lower back problems. I've had a vasectomy and I can't understand why they would still need to wait on a pregnancy test if we can't have children. Is this just a way to run up the bill orshould there be a suspicion of her cheating on me?
