I've been getting a "No Signal" on my Samsung HDTV sometimes when I restart my computer. This doesn't happen all the time though. Sometimes I'll restart the PC after a recently installed application that requires a restart and I'll have an issue where the PC will turn off and act like it's going to restart but it hangs and never completes the reboot. All the lights are on and the fans are spinning but it never restarts and "No Signal" is displayed on my TV.
The only way to fix this is to press and hold the power button down until the system completely shuts off. Any Idea what could be causing this? Like I said, it doesn't happen all the time, just randomly. I've tried swapping out video cards and using On-Board graphics and I get the same result. I' Here are my specs:
Intel DH87RL Mother Board
16GB RAM Crucial DDR3-12800
EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SC
120GB Samsung EVO mSATA SSD, 2x2TB HGST HDD
EVGA 750GQ 80+ Gold PSU

I was gifted an HP e9280t desktop PC last week and I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the CPU. Currently it has an Intel i7 920 on a Pegatron Truckee Motherboard with the X58 Chipset. The Mobo is a socket 1366 and I found out that an Intel Xeon X5670 would fit. Does anyone know if that CPU swap would work? I can get one between $35-$50.5 AnswersDesktops3 years ago
I'm having boot issues with a fresh install of Windows 10 on a brand new SSD. It takes about 7-8 minutes to fully boot. Before the Windows logo appears, it is a black screen with a blinking cursor over to the top left.
My steps to install were:
1. Downloaded Media Creation Tool and placed ISO on USB Drive.
2. Removed old HDD and installed new SSD (PNY 120GB)
3. Went to BIOS and made USB flash drive as first boot priority.
4. Booted off USB flash drive and installed Windows 10, clean install.
5. Restart after installation and go into BIOS and made SSD boot priority.
6. Removed USB flash drive and restart.
7. Gateway logo appears for a quick second and goes to black screen with a blinking cursor over to the top left... Stays like this between 7-8 minutes.
8. Windows 10 boots after 7-8 minutes.
9. System is fast and stable once booted.2 AnswersSoftware3 years ago
I just got a brand new SSD for my laptop and wanted to do a fresh install of Windows 10. I downloaded the media creation tool and used a USB drive for the installation files. I installed the new hard drive and went through the entire setup process. When the computer restarted, all I got was a black screen and a blinking cursor at the top left of my screen. I went into setup and the computer recognizes the hard drive. But when I choose the new SSD as the primary boot device, I get the black screen and blinking cursor. When I choose to boot from usb, I get the setup process all over again. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks3 years ago
I received a Samsung SSD as a gift and wanted to use it as my primary drive for my OS and applications. I'm currently running Windows 10 (Upgraded free from Windows 7). I want to do a clean install of Windows 10 on the new SSD. How can I do this since I don't have the Windows 10 install Disc/Key?8 AnswersSoftware3 years ago
I have a Time Capsule that I want to use strictly for backups via ethernet. Can I be hooked up to the TC and be connected to my existing WiFi network at home? Whenever I connect the ethernet to the TC, I lose online access despite being connected to my WiFi.3 AnswersComputer Networking4 years ago
I have an iPhone 5 from AT&T and a couple of days ago it started displaying the wrong time. I can set my time/date settings to automatic/manual and it still displays the incorrect time. I am able to fix the problem temporarily by turning Airplane mode on and off, but after a few minutes the time will display incorrectly. It will either be a few minutes/hours ahead or behind. Downloading another clock app doesn't help because it's still dependent on the system time so the time for third party apps are incorrect as well.
These are some of the things I've tried so far:
- Factory Reset from the phone
- Factory Reset from my Mac Book
- Replacing SIM Card
These the time discrepancy temporarily but eventually the time will be wrong.
I'm out of ideas and my phone is no longer under warranty so I would have to pay close to $300 to get a replacement... money that I don't have.
I've heard that it could be battery related. Would replacing the battery help?
I'm open to any suggestions that anyone might have. Thanks!

I am trying to run a small network for a small business. I have a wireless modem set up along with 2 network printers. There are 2 desktops and 3 laptops that need to share the printers and each other's contents. All Desktops and Laptops are running Windows 7 64 Bit. I have successfully networked all devices so they can access all other devices except for a single laptop.
When I try to add devices (Printer) from the problem laptop via START > Devices and Printers > Add Printer > Add Network Printer, nothing shows up on the device list. The laptop is connected to the same router as everything else and can access the internet without a problem. It just can't seem to find the printers or other devices as if it doesn't recognize the network.
Any help here would be appreciated.1 AnswerComputer Networking6 years ago
I recently upgraded my Dell Dimension E520 to an Intel Q6700 (Quad 2.66 GHz). I'm using the stock heatsink/fan with Arctic Silver 5.
Core Temp shows my temperature on idle at 43C. When at load (IntelBurn Test 10 Times/Standard) the temperature increased to 84C.
I'm not sure if this is normal with this particular set up and if I'm running too hot. I might try to re-seat the heatsink and reapply a thinner layer of thermal paste.
Any thoughts?1 AnswerDesktops6 years ago
Laptop is a Dell Inspiron running Windows 7 Premium
I have an issue where the unit will power off without warning. Sometimes it will do it before it can boot to the desktop, sometimes it will turn off as soon as 2 seconds after the power button is pressed, and sometimes it will run normally for minutes or hours and then turn itself off.
For some reason I cannot get into setup using F2. It always takes me to a selection screen as if I have pressed F8 while it boots, Start Windows Normally, Start Windows in Safe Mode, Start using Last Known Good Configuration, etc... is displayed.
The cord/battery seems to be ok. The charging light comes on when I plug it in.3 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks7 years ago
I was downloading a song on my iPad Mini using iTunes. I think the download was bad or did not finish correctly and now the song won't play. It even crashes the Music Player when I try to play it. I have tried deleting this song to no avail. I can't swipe left to right and get the Delete option. I even tried deleting from my iTunes Library and then syncing but the song still there... Any other choice other than a hard reset of the device?1 AnswerOther - Hardware8 years ago
I'm in need of a Citrus based Adhesive Remover that I can use safely on the bottom of my shoes. I have no idea what I stepped on, but it is sticky as heck. I've tried soaping it but it did nothing... I need an adhesive remover that won't ruin the bottom of my shoes or that won't discolor it. Anyone have any thoughts? I heard 3M had a citrus based adhesive remover that comes in a spray can. Just need to know where I can get it...1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade ago
I recently injured my right shoulder a few months ago and now I'm looking for a shoulder support that I can wear while playing basketball. I bought a second hand hard drive off ebay and I put it in a USB enclosure. When I first connected it to my PC running WinXp, the drive displayed 2 partitions, one that is 181 GB and the other 8GB (Recovery). How do I delete this 8GB recovery partition and merge it with the other 181GB?1 AnswerDesktops1 decade ago
I've had my HP a1240n for a little over 2 years now and one day last week, the PC wouldn't turn on. I thought it was the power supply so I bought a new one. When I hooked everything up and fired it up... the light turns on and the fans spin, but that's about it. I don't think the hard drive is spinning at all and I cannot get into any kind of screen, even CMOS setup. Any thoughts? Thought I'd has here before I sprang for a PCI Diagnostic Card.4 AnswersDesktops1 decade ago
I have a choice of buying these two Graphic Cards for my PC. I'm hoping to be able to run Fallout 3 (in any quality/resolution) with one of these. My choices are:
1 - EVGA GeForce 9400GT (Manufacturer Part #:512-P3-N944-LR)
2 - PNY GeForce 9400GT (Manufacturer Part#:VCG94512GXPB)
I was wondering which one to buy and which of the two will perform better.
The EVGA is priced around $65 ($45 after rebates) and the PNY is $75($55 after rebates)
Here are my specs for the PC I'm hoping to put this card in:
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 (3.06GHz)
RAM: 4GB (667MHz)
HD: 300GB (Veliciraptor)
DVD: Samsung SH-S183A
OS: XP MCE3 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade ago
I'm thinking about buying this machine and was wondering if the specs are good enough to run Fallout 3.
OS: Windows XP Professional (SP2)
Processor: Pentium 4 3.06(HT)
Memory: 3.5GB PC-5300 DDR2
Video: Nvidia 1GB GeForce 9400 GT
Hard Drive: 2x 500GB Seagate (7200RPM, SATA)
Disc Drive: 2x Lite-On LH-20A1H
Display: Samsung SyncMaster 2220WM 22" LCD
Will these specs run Fallout at a decent resolution/quality?1 AnswerVideo & Online Games1 decade ago
Dell Inspiron E1405 freezes on Desktop. I can move mouse but nothing works. Booting to Safe Mode works though.?
My laptop keeps freezing at the Desktop. I can move the mouse and highlight objects on the desktop, but that's about it. I can't click on anything and it just stays that way no matter how long I leave it on for. Keys don't work either, I can't even bring up Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) I can boot into Safe Mode just fine and from here I was able to do a System Restore from two day ago (when the laptop worked fine). But when I rebooted regularly, it still gives me the same problem. I booted into Safe Mode again and ran a Virus scan using AVG, Defrag, and even rebooted to run Chkdsk /r and still I have this problem. Any thoughts?1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks1 decade ago
