My iphone shows that I have two voicemails, but I have already listened to them and deleted them - two days ago. The message indicator still indicates I have two voice mails. How do I fix this? Or is this yet another Apple software glitch?2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans1 decade ago
I have been an Executive Assistant for the past 10 years, and have worked for some great people in great companies. However, I really want to get off the EA track, but the challenge is the salaries in comparable jobs with different titles pay much less. It's seems to be a catch-22. If I quit being an EA for a different position, I'll get paid less as an entry level employee, because hiring managers don't think EA's can do anything else except answer phones and do scheduling. If I stay an EA then I'll continue to maintain a higher salary, but I'll continue to be bored in my role. I need more of a challenge.
Anyone have any suggestions as what career avenues I can explore that won't put my current salary in jeopardy? Has anyone who has been a long-time EA made a successful transition to another field?1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment1 decade ago
I have a ringtone that was emailed to me on my iPhone, but I can't figure out how to save the ringtone to my library of ringtones to choose from. Is that possible? If so, how do I do it? I refuse to pay a third-party website $10 just to do this.2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans1 decade ago
Over the past few months I have gotten dizzy. Sometimes when I stand up I get dizzy. Or if I turn my neck a certain way, or even if I just think about it, it feels like the back of my head tingles for a second then the room starts to shift. Has anyone experienced this? I'm worried that it may be vertigo or something worse. Anyone have any thoughts on this, or experienced this?2 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade ago
I use a Macbook, and recently I've been unable to upload files from the Mac to the Internet. For example, if I'm on a photosharing website, and I follow the steps to select and upload a file, a window on the Mac pops up, but there are no options/buttons to click to attach the file. The window that opens up is kind of see-through, and the only buttons I can select are Cancel and Open. There's no where for me to select the file I want to upload before I select Open. Is this a software glitch of some sort. It only started happening last week.1 AnswerSoftware1 decade ago
If you use Twitter, does anyone notice that any topic with '#' in front of it currently trending is being 90% commented on by African Americans?
Why is that?
Is this yet another way to organize hate against other people? Why is this an acceptable form of entertainment...to put other people down so much, just to make yourself feel better.
(And don't even say my question is racist. Just go to Twitter and watch the dialogs that are trending.)
I'm just curious is all.3 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade ago
I received a letter from a location scout from Tyler Perry Studios who is interested in using my home for a day or two to shoot some scenes in the upcoming film "Why Did I Get Married Too?" I confirmed that all the contact info is legit with the local film bureau in Atlanta, and I've been told I'll be compensated. Does does anyone know if this is going to be more trouble than it's worth, or know what the going rate is that a film company will pay to use your house to film in?4 AnswersMovies1 decade ago
Now this may seem a bit crazy, but I'm in search of a book whose name I can't think of to save my life. It's a small coffee table type book, paperback with a red plaid cover. It's a book with phrases and sayings in it...inspirational sayings. The title is something like 'Things to make you happy" or "Things to remember" or something like that. I first read a copy back in 1994, but just can't remember the name of it. Any one out there have any idea what the title of this book is? I came across another book that's called "Good Things to Remember", but that's not it.

I'm searching for a vintage children's book called "Heritage Home" or "Heritage House". It's a collection of short stories that was originally published in 1891. I've search Google, Amazon, eBay, etc to no avail. Does anyone know of a fantastic online site to search for vintage or out of print books from the 1800's?3 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade ago
Is it legal for a recruiter to share your information with the two companies you are interviewing at?
Recently, I was offered a job at Company A and Company B. I found the jobs available through a recruiter that represented both companies.
I decided to take the job at Company B, but found out later that the recruiter had told Company B about my interview, salary offer, etc. at Company A.
Is this legal? Can a recruiter who represents the two companies that you are interviewing at tell each company about who/what you’re interviewing for and salary being offered?
Seems kind of unethical at the very least.4 AnswersLaw & Legal1 decade ago
I need some tipping guidelines. I park in a parking garage that has a valet who parks my car in the morning and retrieves it for me at after work. How much should I tip as a holiday bonus? There are about 10 different valets that work at the garage. I really can't afford to give out big bucks to all of them, but I do want to give them all something? What would be appropriate?3 AnswersEtiquette1 decade ago
The english language has become so bastardized with incorrect usage, slang, ebonics and the extreme overuse of "like" between every other word, that I see this spilling over into professional circles.
My question is: Is it proper to use "a historic" or "an historic" in a sentence. I've been taught that it's proper to use "an" in front of a word that begins with a vowel, or vowel sound. We don't say 'istoric' or 'istory', and drop the 'h'. The 'h' is not silent, as in 'hour'.
Can someone who really knows about lanquage structure difinitively answer this question for me?8 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade ago
I have to keep track of an Rsvp list of 650 guest in Excel. Is there a way to calculate the responses of "yes" or "no" with a formula. Instead of just entering a "1" in the corresponding "yes" or "no" column and then summing at the bottom of the page?8 AnswersSoftware1 decade ago
HELP! I've got a noisy neighbor who has absolutely no clue how to be respectful of her neighbors. She has been warned by the landlord with eviction should it continue, and she won't stop - even after repeated attempts to be polite about the situation. If law enforcement and the landlord won't do their part, does anyone have any ideas (legal, of course) of what we can do to get back at her?7 AnswersEtiquette1 decade ago
Whomever wins the Democratic nomination for president, do you think (whomever the winner is) should choose the other democratic candidate as his/her running mate? OR if your favorite candidate doesn't win, do you think you would switch your vote to the Republican ticket?11 AnswersElections1 decade ago
Okay, one question that I haven't heard any commentary on since the shooting at a megachurch today in Colorado:
1) The church has a security staff?
2) The security staff is armed with guns?
3) A security staff member shoots and kills the suspect?
Point to ponder: Why does a church need security, and why does the church presume it needs 'armed' security?
What hath become of their faith, and believing that God will take care of them. Why do they need to resort to having armed security forces to protect them whilst they worship? God is a god of peace. Is this whole situation a bit of hypocrisy?7 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade ago
I've been in Atlanta on business for two weeks now (with a rental car) and have noticed that nearly everyone in Atlanta who drive vehicles do not use their turn signals - not on the highway, not in town, not in the smaller neighborhoods - nothing! Even the police, buses, municipal vehicles, etc.
Is there a reason for this - or is it just idiocy and lack of police enforcement.7 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade ago
