  • Possible Eating Disorder?

    I am 5'4" and 115 pounds. I understand that this is a healthy weight, but whenever I look at myself, or get dressed I always pinch my skin and think about the weight that I want to lose. But I do not restrict my calories, and I try to eat from all of the food groups every day. I do exercise, but it isn't anything excessive. The definition of anorexia talks about not only the characteristic of the restriction of calories, but also the mindset that one feels that they are fat. So I was wondering, even though I keep myself healthy, would I technically be classified as an anorexic because of my desire to lose weight and reduce my caloric intake? Even though I seem to not be able to bring myself to do so? I am not searching for answers just telling me that I am fine the way that I am, because I understand that I am healthy, and I intend on keeping myself that way. I just want to know if I would be classified as anorexic because of my desire to lose weight and reduce calories. Thanks. :]

  • Should I write a letter to the admissions office at Brown.?

    Last year I allowed financial situations to make my final decision for which university I chose. So i went to my local university. Well I am extremely disappointed in the school that I am now attending, and I am planning on transferring next fall. I would really love to attend Brown University, however I am afraid that I won't be accepted, since their transfer admissions is extremely competitive. Would it make a good impression on them if I were to write a letter telling them how interested I am in Brown, and ask some of the questions that I have? Should I write an email? Or should I not do anything?

    I want to lose fat without building bulk muscle in my legs. I used to run, and my legs built up a lot of bulk muscle, and I don't want that. what are the best exercises to lose fat, without building bulk muscle. I want to look lean and feminine, not like a body builder or super athlete. Will walking work? Thanks.

  • Quick-Fit settings on the treadmill.?

    I have been walking on the treadmill for a while, and wanted to start working my heart a little more. So I decided to do the quick-fit setting on my treadmill, it was a 40 minute exercise that goes to 6mph and everywhere in between. I'm not looking to bulk up my leg muscles, and I know that bulking up muscle happens from sprinting, not long distance running. Since sprinting uses the short term muscles and not the long term muscles. So I was wondering, since on these settings it is only at 4.5, 5, 5.5, and 6 mph for a short period of time, Will this actually bulk up my leg muscles? Thanks.

    I had a question about entering in a show... I have been riding for several years, but haven't been in that many shows besides ones for the local barn. I was wondering if junior and amateur were the same level of riding? Thanks.

  • How often will this spider need to eat?

    I captured a spider I found in my kitchen sink the other day. A few years ago I had one just like him and he wouldn't eat anything I tried to give him (probably because once they got to him they weren't moving anymore) And he lived a week, then I let him go because he wouldn't eat. I just put a fly in this with one, and he caught it. How often should I feed him? I'm not sure on what type of spider it is, but he is a little small, brown, and we have a lot of them outside of this house... They tend to get larger than what he is.

  • Will this "diet" work? Please help from people who know.?

    Well I have always exercised, I run all the time, I love it. I can run a lot. But the thing is I used to eat wicked healthy and know I'm not as careful anymore. Well I want to go back to that, it made my body feel good when I ate healthy and I prefer the foods... But I gain weight really easily, so my thighs gained a little fat, same with a few other parts of my body. This is what I plan to do. In the morning, for breakfast, eat some sort fo fruit (apple, grapes, grapefruit, banana, strawberries, or blueberries) sometimes mixing a couple. then having an egg with that. Then my vitamins. Then for lunch have either a wrap (with lettuce, turkey) Or a salad with some sort of lean lunch meat. Then for supper it will be whatever my mom is making... She usually makes pretty healthy suppers, sometimes I'll make it too.. But with this added on to two miles of jogging a day (this is what I've been doing before, so it wont be a shock... I actually usually run four miles a day, but I dance as well, so I decided I didn't want to over work my body.) Will it remove the fat I had gained?

    There was this movie on lifetime once, I remember parts of it and one quote from it. The quote is, "Life's short, you gotta do what makes you happy." And in the movie the main woman character has a disorder that makes her need to eat a lot because if she doesn't she doesn't get enough nutrients from the food.   • I am trying to find a college, please help!?

    I am looking for a college, I live in Maine and am willing to go to these states: Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York (the country side of NY), Vermont, and Connecticut. I have some colleges in mind that I'd love to attend, Yale, Wellesley, liberal colleges like those. I would love to attend Wellesley but I am not sure if they have stables... That is what comes to my question, what are some good liberal colleges that have a field hockey team, and stables, the stables don't have to be a part of the campus, just near by. Please help me find some, I haven't had much luck... Thank you!

  • This is a question for physical trainers or therapists.?

    I've been running for a few years now, for the first two years I only ran one mile every day, then this year I run usually two or three, but some days I'm more tired and only run one. Will running two to three miles a day cause my knees too much strain? sometimes when I run my knees hurt at first but after I get into it more they stop hurting. I think it's just because I'm warming up but I'm not sure.

    Some friends and I are doing charity events, and we are also hosting lots of events where people come to speak about certain causes. We would like to get a well known celebrity to come and speak on animal rights. We have decided on Natalie Portman, she is a well educated women, and is an animal rights activist. So please if anyone has her contact information that would be great. Or if anyone is a member of then you could get the information we need.     Does anyone here like Megan Hauserman? I personally do, yeah she's manipulative and sly, but that's the way you have to play certain reality shows. And she graduated College as an accountant, she's really smart. Just because she has blonde hair and sometimes acts ditsy doesn't mean that she is. That's just my opinion, does anyone else agree? I'm just sick of hearing people talk down to her.

    When I was younger I had a naturally fast metabolism... but my diet was very poor and slowed it down. I'm a teenager now, and my metabolism is a lot slower than it used to, if I don't exercise I gain five or more pounds. I eat and drink healthy now, and I exercise daily (the type of exercise in question being running.) So how do I get it back to it's normal speed?
