  • Who has right of way in a multiple lane turn?

Who has the right of way when you have multiple lanes turning into a different number of multiple lanes? For instance, imagine a right turn with 2 turn lanes going to the right merging onto a 3 lane road. Which (original) turn lane gets the middle lane after completing the turn? Ideally, no one would get the middle lane immediately after the turn, but of course that isn't going to happen.

This is just a curiosity question, not one I am trying to get legal advice on.

  • Is R-squared only valid for linear regressions?

Is the R-squared statistical parameter (coefficient of determination) only valid for linear regressions? Is this parameter valid for nonlinear models (such as Gaussian Processes)?

  • What are the optimimum recharge cycles for lithium ion type batteries?

I've read that lithium ion batteries should not be fully discharged between recharge cycles. So what is the best recharge cycle to get the most life from lithium ion batteries? Should they be recharged as often as possible, or should they be drained considerably before being recharged?

This includes all sorts of lithium ion batteries in today's consumer electronics: laptops, cell phones, mp3 players etc. Note: this discussion has nothing to do with memory effects.

  • Extending Xbox Live membership with prepaid cards...?

I already have a long time existing Xbox Live Gold membership that is paid for by a recurring credit card charge.

I received a prepaid 12 month subscription card as a gift. Can I go ahead and apply the prepaid card to extend my existing membership? (This way, I will not have my credit card charged against for almost 2 years..)

I'd like to get a firm answer on this from someone that has first hand experience before I open the box and scratch off the pre-paid card.
