• Who is asking all these "4 pics, 1 word" questions, and what is the point?

It seems like a huge waste of time to me. (Not the people asking here -- I mean who is asking them and what is supposed to be taught/learned by the exercise?)

  • Should water heater be insulated when it's in a small unheated room?

I live in southeast SC, a very humid area. I always thought water heaters should be insulated, but someone said, "Yeah, if you want it to rust." I notice a water temperature difference, compared to handle position, with the seasons, so the ambient temperature is affecting its efficiency. What are your opinions re whether to insulate it... show more

  • How should I insulate a warped exterior door?

It fits perfectly within the frame, but there is a significant gap in the top, non-hinged corner through which exterior air enters. I now realize that the door is warped and that portion of it does not fit against the framing. What should I do to insulate the gap? Thank you.

  • What is the best way to insulate a wall switch on an exterior wall?

I have a multi-switch electrical switch panel on an exterior wall and can feel cold air entering the house through it. What type of insulation should I use and where (exterior side of box, sides of box, within the box where wires are)? I don't want to create a fire hazard. Thank you.
