I'm interested in learning more about the vibratory dynamics of DNA/RNA base pairs, but I'm not sure where I could learn about them. is there a resource about this sort of thing?1 AnswerEngineering2 years ago
There's an object I'm curious about called the STC 1000. I want to know whether it has CSA approval or not - I haven't been able to find CSA on any of its datasheets, but I noticed that Amazon offers it for sale in Canada. Could it do that if the device didn't have the right approvals?3 AnswersOther - Electronics6 years ago
When water condenses out of air, what percentage of the temperature change stays with the water and how much with the air?
Obviously I'm asking about water condensing due to absorption, not temperature change. When water condenses on salt, there must be a temperature change, but how much is in the (now) liquid water and how much in the air it condensed out of?
Not sure where to look this up, thanks for your help!1 AnswerPhysics6 years ago
The philosophy seems to be very "one life is all you get" but if the soul doesn't survive the body, how could "Bob" be assassinated twice? Is that just because he's "Bob"? Does the church of the subgenius believe in Reincarnation? Or some weird Genetomemetic mutation that occurs when the Yeti's gift dissolves? I'd love to get a minister's answer.3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years ago
I once said to an athiest (I'm agnostic myself) "since we don't really know why there was a big bang as opposed to no big bang, what's the problem with calling the reason for the big bang God? it seems no worse than any other name" He said "I'd have no problem with that, except people tend to anthropomorphize that reason".
I must say, that made a lot of sense, even from a religious perspective. I'm curious to hear what believers and Atheists (and fence sitters like myself if there's any out there) think of that response.3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years ago
I've been playing minecraft at my library's computers, it seems cheaper than getting a new video card for my own. The problem is, whenever I log out, my world disappears. Is there any way I could save a world, maybe on a USB or something, and jump in again later?
Thanks for your help!4 AnswersVideo & Online Games9 years ago

I heard that at the end of all DNA strands there's a long repeating sequence, which is never copied in its full length when the cell divides- was hoping someone could tell me the base pairs that make up this sequence.1 AnswerBiology10 years ago

I was wondering about the comparisons between the death penalty and abortion. Do you think that most people either support or are against both?
If you support one and are against the other, how do you perceive their difference? since they remove someone who either would or would likely be a burden on society, the difference seems to be mostly one of guilt vs innocence, but all the pro-DP arguments I've heard seem to be practical considerations that would apply to an unwanted child too.4 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade ago
I've always thought that the commandment against idolatry made sense if taken as a metaphor- a warning against fixing an idea in your mind instead of being prepared for anything.
But I've also heard that the Quran is supposed to be interpreted literally. And Musimen seem to take the commands against idolatry more seriously than any other religious community- getting upset if someone depicts the prophet, etc.
So, if these commands are really just against making a physical representation, what's the big deal?5 AnswersRamadan1 decade ago
does anyone think that Canada was so obstructive at Copenhagen because it has a vested interest in...?
seeing temperatures rise? Canada's largely an agricultural country, there's a chance that many Canadians will benefit from global warming, or at least suffer less than others. Does anyone think the Canadians were trying to speed the global warming schedule by obstructing the Copenhagen talks?6 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade ago
I've heard something about sabotage and undermining the government, but what exactly is the PRC's official reason for outlawing the movement?
also, any thoughts on whether that's the real reason?1 AnswerLaw & Ethics1 decade ago
