I know this is not the beauty category, but I'm vegetarian and would like to use Kirkland's(Costco) newly introduced body lotion that seems to have no animal ingredients except a suspicious looking "squalane". I always knew squalene is from shark liver(so sad!), so when I looked for squalane on the internet, I get conflicting answers ranging from animal source to olive oil. Any vegans/ vegetarians who know the answer? I tried contacting Kirkland and got no reply to my email :(1 AnswerVegetarian & Vegan9 years ago
All the "good" things about vegans I have heard is from self styled vegans. Does anybody know of a culture of people that have lived long healthy lives? Like at least 70- 80 years old? Vegetarians have lived their lives long and healthy in many cultures.
My concern is veganism includes a lot of processed foods generally(meat analogues, protein supplements and vitamin pills). How is this healthy and wholesome? If someone went vegan to be healthy, isn't it just the opposite to be consuming soy based stuff for most meals and drink almond or other grain milks fortified with almost anything?
I don't see the medical industry supporting vegan theories, even if many of them support a predominantly vegetarian diet.7 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade ago
I've seen Americans describe Koreans, Japanese, Thai, Malaysians, Vietnamese, Chinese as Asians while Indians are not called Asians despite the fact that India is in Asia. Is it because somebody ignorant started the fad and it carried on to be a part of colloquial speech?8 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade ago
Vegetarians- Do you know the fortified milk in USA contains vitamins A and D mostly sourced from fish oils?
How many of you vegetarians already know about this? The FDA doesn't require dairy manufacturers to put this on the label! The only way to find out is to ask companies and with a hundred milk brands it is really hard unless they label it.
There isn't much information on the web and many vegetarians are unaware of this.10 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade ago
