• I just HAD to run this by you. Should touch and face to face contact be replaced by voice & phones?

Women patting men on the back or touching them, negatively influences their confidence & self esteem, exerting control over them. They also claim a mothers voice is just as good as holding an infant, that a phone call is just as effective as a hug, and that counseling via computer or phone (at $4.99 a minute on their site) is just as effective as... show more

What's next phone sex is better than marriage? I personally see Stefford Wives. What about you?

  • Mental Health Consumers?

There was quite a fury on a blog site of mental health Advocates claiming that the term "consumer" is degrading, "Mental Health" is stigmatizing, "patient" is discriminating and so on. I'm into advocacy and peer counseling but am I the only one to think this is "crazy"? I was a patient, a consumer, I had a mental health problem and I didn't have any problems with it. I 'd love to hear your opinions.

  • Is this acceptable behavior on part of a company?

A company lays off 200 long term, loyal & experienced employees all over 40. In turn they post ads to hire 200 newly graduated PhDs to work 2 year contracts as interns - no pay, no benefits, no guarantee of a paying job along the way. They are to work long hours and can be termininated at will at anytime and replaced with another warm body. Granted... show more

  • No questions on Yahoo Answers?

How come when I click to search for questions on a particular subject, I get a message that there are no questions on the topic listed (which is all of them) at the time and to come back another time? Yet, right below this is a list of new submissions. What gives?

  • What is your "Grown Up Christmas Wish?"?

Not meant to be naughty. Just what do adults over 40 want this Christmas most. I know for our family it would be for my husband who has been laid off from four companies in two years as a R&D scientist to find a secure job. We've already lost our home, but we have each other.

  • Is it my imagination or are the youth of America becoming more illiterate?

I am shocked at the poor grammar, spelling (in spite of spell check - would it kill you?) in many of the questions posted on this site. Even college age students can't seem to handle basic English. Have computers and texting just made them lazy?

I have never been given nor seen any information, papers, deeds etc. I did sign documents at the reading of the will. When I mentioned I wanted my own set of deeds etc...he told me I had no right to ask for these papers. He just went through a divorce and I know his wife was trying to get her share out of it. Additionally, our tax bill is 1/4 of what it used to be (and by the way the tax bill always goes to him only)? We have never been given a receipt for our portion. Being half owner, don't I have a right to have my own copy of the land deed and leases with oil companies. He more or less threatened that I am not to inquire about this. Do I have good reason to be suspicious? Could he have sold off the property without my permission and if so, how?

My grandfather bought land & mineral rights in OK back in the 20's. The contract written with the company pumping the gas is pathetic at best. Can this contract be broken or renegotiated?
