  • Who else finds it equally depressing?

In the section on dining out, most of the comments appear to relate to junk food outlets such as McDonalds, Wendy's, Taco Bell etc. I have spent many vacations in America and I have always tried to find decent food that wasn't supplied by a fast food outlet. Do Americans not realise what abysmal rubbish is served in these outlets?

  • Why does ISIS think that bombs will achieve their aims?

I lived through the Luftwaffe blitz on London when we were bombed every night for around seven weeks and many thousands were killed and thousands of houses were destroyed. The RAF and USAF bombed German cities, again killing thousands of German citizens. The bombs didn't work. Morale remained high in both countries. ISIS WILL NOT WIN!

  • Do supermarkets think customers are stupid?

I used to buy grapes, loose, at £1-80 per kilo at Tesco.. Now they sell them in plastic boxes for which they charge £4-00 per kilo. Can they wonder that the customers are deserting them in droves?

  • Why has Yahoo changed Answers yet again?

I find that on every category I am looking at is dominated by US questioners, subjects on which I have no interest. I expect to read mainly UK/Ireland questions. Do they not adopt the old adage "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

  • Why are they never considered?

Why are British film never entered in the "Best Foreign Movie" category in the Oscars. We really aren't the 51st state of the US

  • Are we missing a trick?

Michael Adebolajo is to appeal against his life sentence for murdering Lee Rigby, claiming that it was an act of war. I have no problem with allowing his appeal. He could then be locked up as a prisoner of war. and they are never released until the war is finally over and if they should attempt to escape, they can be shot. They don't get the privileges that are given to prisoners in the UK and have no visitors.

  • Did they not ignore the obvious?

I read that two men have been prosecuted for issuing many forged £10 notes. Did they not realise that any clean note would immediately be suspect. I cannot remember when I last received a currency note issued by the Bank of England which shouldn't be handled without wearing rubber gloves

  • Why do they never learn?

Why did Yahoo never remember the old adage "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

  • Does anyone know why?

I used to have to sign in every two weeks yet now I find I sign on to Yahoo for about fifteen times a day. Every time I access Y/A or my emails and it is getting on my nerves. Can anyone explain why?

  • Why does Y/A have this problem?

I often get a message something like "Oops, seems like you have a lot of punctuation" I find it strange that punctuation an answer properly should be worthy of comment. I even use correct punctuation when I'm composing a text on my mobile phone. Does anyone else think this is odd?

  • What credence can we give these books?

I think that the Bible was like an historic Wikipedia where many people made their contribution and now nobody knows who they were or what their qualification was to add their contribution. In the same way, who wrote the Koran which defines the way in which Muslims conduct their lives? We are told that no-one should make any representation of Mohammed (?) but if no-one has ever done so, how would anyone know what he looked like? It follows that it would be impossible to do so thus it cannot be a sin

  • What are they scared of?

Why on earth is the American film industry not showing the Michael Douglas film about the life of Lee Liberace? Surely they aren't still keeping up the pretence that he was heterosexual.Of course he did win the libel suit he against the columnist Cassandra who wrote that he was a pederast. I thought that we had moved on from the days when actors sexual preferences had to be kept under wraps as they did with the likes of Rock Hudson. It is now almost embarrassing to see Mr Hudson making eyes at Doris Day in the old movies. In the UK it is now common for leading actors to announce that they bat for the other side, in fact many of them emphasize this as a part of their persona such as Stephen Fry and Sir Ian McKellan. Personally I am 100% straight for which I make no apologies but I have no objection to the sexual preferences of others as long they don't intend to involve me and they don't frighten the horses If they can distribute Brokeback Mountain then why not Behind the Candelabra?

  • Are Mumsnet taking Jeremy Clarkson too seriously?

In a newspaper article he suggested that small children should be put in the overhead lockers in aircraft. I doubt whether he would say that, hand on heart, he would claim to be serious. I guess many of us have had to put up with small children misbehaving during a flight and their parents taking no notice. As there are adult only hotels and cruise ships why should there not be adult only flights?

  • Are the Government not missing out on an opportunity to solve a problem?

If someone is driving a car which isn't insured the Police can seize and possibly crush it if insurance isn't forthcoming. If the Police catch someone using a mobile phone in their hand or texting, they should have the authority to seize the phone and immediately crush it. I am sure there are very few who would risk this penalty twice. It would be more effective than a paltry £100 fine.

  • Is etiquette no longer taught?

I won't even start on the lack of table manners but little things like giving up your seat on a bus to an older or pregnant woman, holding doors open, saying please and thank you and the fact that it is bad manners for a man to wear a hat indoors. I even saw a man wearing a baseball cap in church!
