I will be attending the University of California, Irvine as a freshman. I am currently enrolled as a Biology major planning on earning a doctorate degree in Pharmacy. However, I suddenly became really confused on what I want to do with my life since I just heard that a lot of bio students drop out or are having a really hard time. soooo HELP ME PLEASE!
-working in a lab
-dissecting things [animals/organs but not actual people where their lives depend on me-so no surgeon]
-working alone or with a small group of people
-working with patients
Here are some more information about me. I am a really curious person which is why I like dissecting. However, I don't want anyone's life to depend on me. I also don't want to work with patients or just people in general.
I basically want to work in a lab making something, figuring out new cures/medicines, or look at things under a microscope. With that said, is Pharmacy the right choice for me? Are there any majors [possibly easier ones] that would also lead me towards pharmacy?
What about majoring in microbiology? What jobs can I have with that major?
I understand that everything will require hard work and possibly some hair pulling, but I just want to make sure that i won't regret becoming a biology major. I want to know my options.
thanks in advance!
