  • Friends are going through bad marriage issues. Citizen/green card holder custody question?

I have some friends that are going through marriage issues. They have been getting councelling but it doesn't seem to be working. The man is extremely verbally abusive to her and is a Green Card holder. She is primary caregiver to the kids and homeschools them while being a homemaker. By law what would be the ruling on custody? She is by far the most supportive and there for the kids. He works night shift and has little responsibilities caring for the kids. Who would get custody most likely providing the mother could find a stable job and residence. Also he has threatened to leave to go back to his country, would that be called abandonment and would she get custody? She is afraid of leaving them with him, thinking he could take them to his country, or at the very least he could possibly not pay attention and the kids could get hurt. (he has fallen asleep before and left food to cook as well as be playing video games while the kids were walking around on the counters. and etc.) Please no snarky comments and people with professional knowledge or past experience only answer please. aka U.S. mother and green card father. and etc.

  • relationship issues about......"s3x"...?

hi there people, ive been married for 9 years, have 4 kids. things have been rough marriage wise for a few months now. my hubby works night shift, so after him sleeping and working and the kids,we dont have a heck of a lot of time for each other. the other night he had been sleeping for about 5 hours and i (suprisingly) was extremely (er-hem) "horny" ......so i woke him up with a bj.(doesnt happen very often) he woke up for a second, and then turned back over and went back to sleep!!!! now if this happened just once it wouldnt be such a big deal! but i literally cant remember the last time when i wanted it that we did "it". not to say our intimate life is non-existent, its just on "his" schedule.( i even last month got all "dressed up" and again nada)....anyways when i got p.o.ed the next day he said well i cant just perform if im not in the mood, you can. its"different". i said well heck sometimes im not 100% in the mood but once you start you get there, and i can count on my hands the times i turned you down in our whole marriage!!!!!( we had an argument and he stormed out)anyways....we havent been talking for days now. i feel very un-attractive.... and very unwanted. im a size 6, and always get complements so i know im not, i just feel like it around him. so guys and gals can you give me some tips ...(aka divorce his butt not accepted). i just am so freaking confused.

  • issues between a husband and wife... would like some qualified opinions?

i will try to be fair when asking the question posting both my and his sides and feelings and the facts that happened. please tell me what you think about our issue if you would. ok yesterday was our 9th wedding anniversary. we have 4 kids. about 11 am yesterday morning hubby starts getting on the phone, i walk in and ask "whats up"? turns out he came up with a "plan" that morning to go out to a botanical gardens and was calling around to try to find last min. babysitters. he called 2 people and they werent able to and he suggested we ALL go to the botanical gardens.... i said um, no thanks.... thats ok. we wont be able to have any private one on one time anyway w/ all the munchkins there and its so much work just getting them together and making sure they are happy and are having a fun time. he gets peeved at me and says "well I want to do something nice and so lets all go". i start getting peeved as well because i would have liked him to have planned ahead and made the plans and surpised me and taken care of all the loose ends like childcare not make up some plan the morning of our anniversary and heck yeah bring along the kids. my point of veiw is... i would LOVE for him to make plans for just us, id like to feel special and that he would have taken the time to make some plans for just us so we could enjoy our day.this has happened quite a few times. im not one of those super romantic high expectation types id just like to feel desired a few times a year with just us. his side (as well as i can put it) is that for him i "always" make such a big deal over "nothing" and im "ruining" our anniversary with my refusal to pack all 4 kids and all their stuff (including a 6 mo old) and drive an hour each way w/ them. and that i "like" starting trouble and that i really want us to fight on our anniversary. i tried to tell my point of view but things just escalated. so we ended up doing nothing and not speaking all day. i even suggested 2 weeks ago that we not give each other gifts just spend some time with each other instead. so there was no card, flowers, gift (not that i was expecting one) or even some time together. or even talking. im really upset right now and he got angry and so there it stands. id like some mature qualified opinions about what to do and perhaps points or tips for either one of us. NO nasty comments please.

  • will the surge in afganistan mean that the military(army) be recruiting more people quicker/easier ?

my guy is looking to go into the army he is older (32) and has had 7 years in college the problem is this college wasnt "accredited" and half of it was in another country. will this current surge in afganistan make it easier for him to get into the army? ( i know you still have to pass the fitness and asvab) i just didnt know if they would be slightly more lax perhaps? or will he be fine no matter what and be able to get in?

  • does anyone besides me ever feel like getting totally sarcastic to any of these annoying/odd/weird questions?

i was just wondering if anyone else has the urge to ever get totally smart with some of these questions that are asked either repeatedly, like, am i pretty/handsome? and you want to respond so badly with a comment like wow is that nose hair or a bush hanging out of your nose? Or to those so very odd questions like, " if i sleep with my cousin is that still wrong?" .... lol if you want to vent here tell the question(s) that totally tweaked your must-answer-idiotically button.. and your wish-you-could answer.

  • would like a MATURE opinion on an OCD person who is staying the week with me at christmas?

my guys aunt is very ocd..... she obsessively cleans all day long from the moment she gets up until she goes to bed. if you drop any crumbs on the floor she literally gets very upset. (her hubby ate a brownie on a plate with a napkin in the living room and she yelled for like 15 mins)

if her children get some water from the sink after 9pm and leave water drops in it she gets very upset. she believes she is "allergic" to the sun, dogs, cats, dust, trees, grass, flowers, dirt....etc.

this is not to say she does not have a very nice personality.. she is sweet when not cleaning.

i have three children under 6, and they are very rambuncious playfull children... very well behaved just not immaculate. i am not myself a super tidy individual. i feel as if she is disapproving of me if i do not do it EXACTLY her way.

how can i make it thru this and communicate effectively to her, and get thru it with my mind intact?

p.s. fopr an example her father in law hired a professional cleaner for his house and cleaned ALL of it, and the moment she got there( after traveling cross country she cleaned it for hours)
