  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (2 counts) in texas revised?

My 18 year old daughter was assaulted with baseball bat. She was hit in the head. Her injuries were lacerated forehead, cracked skull, frontal EDH (blood clot), bleed of brain. Her boyfriend was hit in the arm and hip I believe. That is why there is 2 counts. The guy that assaulted them already had one warrant for assault. And I have heard he already had a criminal record. I am curious to what kind of time he will get in texas jail or prison? Also my daughter isn't the same. She forgets things, and sometimes she has trouble with her speech, also can't remember what certain objects are she calls them other things, forgot how to spell her name and write her name, and has difficulty walking. There is no guarantee of what her future holds. I am praying he gets 25-life. Any legal info much appreciated. Also how much time of the sentence will they have to do?

  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (2counts) in texas?

My 18 year old daughter was hit in the head with a baseball bat little over a week ago. She was severely injured. Frontal EDH (blood clot),bleed of the brain, lacerated forehead, cracked skull. She isn't herself anymore. We live in Texas. The person who hit her is being charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. How much time do you think he will get for this crime? And is it possible that they may get him for attempted murder? I don't know what class felony it is. I need to find out. Any legal advice is much appreciated.

  • Question about a diuretic?

I recently started taking it. Only I am baffled about something,...I have been suffering for a long time with heartburn. Since I started taking the med it has caused the heartburn to stop. I know that sometimes heartburn is a camoflage for heart problems. I do have arrythmia,..but haven't had an EKG in years,..having one done within this next month though. Has anyone else experienced this with this med? Do you think it is possible that it could have been a heart problem and not heartburn?

    any help much appreciated

  • Few questions about high blood pressure (hypertension)?

I have checked my blood pressure several times at pharmacy and it was in Pre-hypertension level. A couple of times it was normal. Had it checked in ER a couple of days ago and the bottom number was 97. They checked it again a couple of hours later and it was 97. Checked it today and it was pre-hypertension level. I was told to see doctor but I am thinking of getting bp kit and checking it myself. My questions are,....Does one have to have CONSTANT high bp to be diagnosed? Also at what level do they usually put someone on meds? And last but not least,...are the meds for hypertension expensive?

hypertension runs in my family but don't want to worry my family with telling them as I recently found out I was hypoglycemic and they are worried about that already. I know that if someone has diabetes they like for their bp to be lower. But is that the same for hypoglycemia also?

Any help is much appreciated. I have read up in the net and can't find the answers to these questions.

  • Would love to hear how you got an ankle sprain?

I am still trying to figure out how I didn't break my ankle. I am splinted with cast material in back of calf to bottom of toes and wrapped with ace bandage. Told to see orthopedic surgeon. Is that normal for an ER to refer you to orthopedic surgeon for a sprain? I forgot to mention how it got sprained. I was riding motorcycle and turned into a driveway and caught some loose gravel. When the motorcycle laid over it twisted my ankle backwards and I was pinned under 550 pounds with it twisted for about 5 minutes or so. Any stories or help is much appreciated.

  • Serious question about ssi or ssdi?

I have worked many of my 35 years of life. I now have problems walking and am being referred to a neurologists. The doctor suspects I have neuropathy or MS and will be tested by neurologist soon. I am curious about if I was considered disabled an start recieving a check for it will my 10 year old son recieve a check also even though I am remarried. I am not sure if I have enough credits to draw ssdi. I am in process of finding that out also. I haven't been physically able to work for the past 2 years. Also if my husband makes fairly decent income will I get some kind of medical assistance if they diagnose me with MS or neuropathy? Any help is much appreciated.

  • Does lymphoid hyperplasia usually turn into a lymphoma type cancer?

Several years ago I had an EGD and a colonoscopy. They found colonic mucusa with lymphoid hyperplasia in my colon on one of the biopsies. I was told to keep an eye on it. The doctor wouldn't tell me much other than it is very rare. I went to another doctor due to loss of insurance and they told me it was normal to have. Never did a blood test or anything. I have swollen glands in different areas most of the time. Usually have at least one swollen somewhere daily. My sister had hodgkin's disease. I don't know what to think. I have many other health problems. But several of them could be MS, neuropathy, or lymphoma type cancers (the symptoms point to these) If anyone has any knowledge of lymphoid hyperplasia and what usually happens with it is much appreciated. I am in process of trying to get insurance to see neurologist. Just not sure if I should see another specialists also. Thanks in advance. Everything I have found about this hyperplasia is not much info.

  • Does this sound normal for hypoglycemia?

I was diagnosed yesterday with hypoglycemia. I have several family members that are diabetic. I got tested yesterday because a couple of days ago I got real shaky and somewhat incoherent, I checked my blood and got a reading of 25 and 10 minutes later a reading of 24. I have the kit due to having too many episodes of feeling real bad. On the 5 hour tolerance test yesterday my sugar went up to 189 and I was spilling over in my urine 500mg. Then on the next blood draw and urine sample my glucose was 89 and I was spilling over in my urine over 1000mg. The next draw I went to 115 and in urine was showing trace of blood and still over 1000mg. Then my glucose dropped on next to last test to 62 with no spill in urine. Then to 71 with no spill. When I started spilling over in my urine over 1000mg the nurse told me that most people with that much spill are diabetic. Has anyone heard of this or has it happened to you? I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia. Any info much appreciated.

My daughter lived with me up until about 3 years ago then moved in with her father. She quit school a couple of weeks ago and moved back in with me. She will be 18 on the 14th of April. Do I have to continue to pay child support since she has quit school and moved back in with me? I have called the child support office 2 times and got two different responses.

  • How would you feel about this?

My son is in GT in 4th grade. They received a school report card that gives percentages. It has TAKS test percentages among different races. It also has TAKS failers promoted by grade placement committee. It goes on to list the different races and percentages of those students that failed the test that were promoted The percentages were for reading White 86.8%, hispanic 92.9%, and 100% african american. That was reading TAKS test. And math isn't much different either. The african american was the same. These results were for 2005. My feelings are anger. Even though the white students scored higher than all other races by the percentages. This means that it didn't matter if an african american passed or failed the test they were going to be promoted. I am white by the way. But this is discrimination against whites if I have ever seen it!

  • Do you get wood from outside your house for your parrots?

I have considered it. But I have read that the wood has to be soaked for a while then allowed to dry. I am paranoid I guess that something will kill them so I haven't done it. Anyone do this? And if so could you tell me how you did it? And please tell if your parrot was harmed from it? Any advice is much appreciated.

  • Have you tamed a yellow nape amazon that was around 4 or 5 years old? How long did it take you?

I got my first parrot almost 2 years ago. It was a yellow nape amazon. She was almost 5 years old when I got her from a breeder. When I say she was untame. I mean she was kept in a small cage and was unable to be touched at all. I was told I would never be able to hold her. But she was a great talker. I was determined. I bought a goffin cockatoo about a month later. So she would see I meant no harm. Plus I love parrots and wanted another :) To make a long story short I think it worked. Within 9 months after buying her I could hold her, pet her, take her walking outside. She is adorable. But I still have breeders and pet store owners that it is impossible. I have had them tell me they have been raising and breeding parrots for 13 years and more and still they have never been able to tame a yellow nape amazon. I would love to hear your experiences with taming yours. :)
