I think I'm desperate for a career change! I spent about 18 years in the Air Force before separating due to a disability. I am a contract negotiator and have a very good job and it pays very well. The problem is, I'm soooo unhappy. I've been out of the military for less than 2 years and I'm on my third job. Granted it is a good one, but nothing provides that structure, discipline and Comraiderie like the military. I don't know if I miss that, or if I'm just completely bored doing contracts and purchase orders....
The trouble is, my job pays very well....Can't afford a paycut....any thoughts on what I can do to make my career path better? I'm highly skilled at various things and have always wanted to have a career in public speaking of some sort....what do I do???2 AnswersCareers & Employment1 decade ago
I am a "mature woman" over 35, let's just say.... I have a wonderful job with a very solid company. I had a career in the military before the private sector. I took a "step down" at this company after resigning from a position where I was the Director, so that I could have my son and be more available to him. My husband also works.....because of traffic I take the early shift to pick up my son from daycare... I am on Salary, not on "the clock" so I shouldn't have people "watching" me at my paygrade....
I meet regularly with my manager....this morning she said she hated to have this conversation with me, but asked me about my work hours....I told her I do leave a few minutes before 4:00 because we have to take a bus to the parking lot on the other side of town, which puts me 20 min's behind schedule.... She said another manager complained that I was leaving early and I can't leave before 4, I'm actually angry, as I find this to be a huge slap in the face. What would you do?10 AnswersCareers & Employment1 decade ago
I just responded to another question...the girl is 17 and lives with her boyfriend and his parents and she wanted to know if she should quit her McDonalds job....
I looked through the questions and no one said anything about the fact that this young girl lives with her boyfriend and his parents at 17? Personally, I think his parents ought to be carted off to jail for allowing such a thing.....Am I the only person who sees this behavior as completely irresponsible?????8 AnswersEtiquette1 decade ago
I'm not fat at all....my problem is this....My office keeps getting all these wonderful Christmas Goodies from Suppliers......They put them on the AA's Desk and I can see her desk and all those goodies from where I sit.... I have lost all willpower over the past few days...I'm getting concerned....How do I stop!?!?!?!?13 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade ago

I've had horrible sinus issues for years to the point where I sneeze almost constantly, have a runny stuffy nose, headaches, and loss of smell...The medications are losing their effect I've been on them so long....I'm miserable, and I've read about these Sinus Wars tablets but they are a bit expensive...anyone ever tried?2 AnswersAllergies1 decade ago
We live on private property and have about 6 acre's, our neighbors built up thier yard with more than 100 truckloads of dirt and added a hill so put in a built in swimming pool. Our yard floods so bad, we added roughly 20 truckloads of dirt for a cost of $7,000 or so. He changed the flow of water so that all of his water dumps into our yard, which he refuses to fix...we can't build ours up because then we will dump water on our neighbor? Should we sue?13 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade ago
My son has slept through the night since he was 10 weeks old. The past few nights he's been waking up and just will not go back to sleep. I think he's in pain due to teething. The problem is he doesn't respond to oragel or baby tylenol.... I've heard about some kind of teething tablets? Anybody use them? If so, tell me the name....WE need some relief.14 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade ago

I had a c-section about 7 months ago, and I still have pain in the area as well as numbness. Also, If I walk too fast, it feels like my pelvic bones are too far apart or something. It's very hard to describe but it's extremely awkward. I'm in great shape and lost all my baby weight so I'm not sure what's going on.... Any thoughts?6 AnswersPregnancy1 decade ago
The idea is to cater to the middle class family and sell products that are hand made, gifts, small furniture, pictures, books, etc, that inspire family values, etc.6 AnswersSmall Business1 decade ago
Would tailor to old fashioned families...come in, have a little cup of coffee, buy some nice gifts, small hand crafted furniture pieces, artwork, etc....5 AnswersOther - US Local Businesses1 decade ago
