My pet rat has a large mammary tumor and it has become too debilitating. She is not a happy rat anymore for her and I think its time to put her down... :( I feel bad I didn't have it removed but money was tight at that time. I was scared how much it was going to cost and I read that they can return after they've been removed. It hurts knowing I am going to lose her but it feels good knowing she lived a great life since she was being sold as snake food and I rescued her.
I am going to make some phone calls to my local vet and need some advice on what I should ask. I called one and they told my it's 55 and I asked how they euthanize. She told me they put her in a gas chamber and put her out. Then they do a stick to the heart. I was upset because I have heard horror stories about that method and heard the animal needs to be heavily sedated if not the animal will have a very painful death. I don't want that for my rat, I love her dearly and just want her to go peacefully.
I am not sure if vets can offer more humane methods if it's requested and in average what does it usually cost for diff methods. What are some important questions I should ask?
This is the first time I have ever had to put a pet down. I am nervous! Plz help3 AnswersRodents7 years ago
Has anyone tried this method? I don't want to lose her but I don't want her to suffer anymore! It breaks my heart to have to see her go...I thought she would be more at ease to pass away at home then in a vets office! I heard whore stories about vets sticking a needle into its heart to kill it and other Methods that ate humane are more expensive. I'll go that route if I have to but money is tight right now2 AnswersRodents7 years ago

I wasn't sure what Obamacare really was, so I did some research. I was floored to read all the negative effects it may cause to our economy! It sounds like its going to do more harm then good. I don't want to go into a rant about it but this is communism! I am uninsured and I don't even want it!

My sessions at this daily class workout facility expired and I didn't renew it because I didn't have the money. That was on June 8th it ended then on June 11 my period begun and I haven't had one since. I had unprotected sex in the later in that month. When it came time for my period to show,it didn't, but I had a slight pink tinged discharge. A week after my missed period I took a test, fearing I may be pregnant, but it was negative. When August approached my period didn't show again. I am not under any stress so I don't understand how I missed two periods in a row. I have no signs of pregnancy. One this i have noticed is that it smells stronger down there. Could the sudden stop in exercise be to blame for this?1 AnswerWomen's Health7 years ago
I really think I might be pregnant. I already have one child that just turned 5 and I sort of remember what my first pregnancy symptoms were from then, however it took me over a month before I found out about her.
If I am actually pregnant now I should be about 2-3 weeks along. My period is a week late but I didn't think anything of it at first because I have been doing this intense daily workout class for several months which has screwed with my menstrual cycle quiet a bit. Only my workout class has ended six weeks ago and my last period was also six weeks ago.
What I have been experiencing for about six day now is tiredness even if I get a full eight hours or more of sleep! Just the other day when I made a bowl of cereal I put honey on top of it. I hardly ever put honey on my cereal. Then two hours after I ate breakfast I was hungry already and I ate a small snack. Then an hour later my stomach started growling again when I didn't eat right away I started feeling sick; lightheaded, dizzy, shaky. So I searched the kitchen for something to eat but nothing sounded good. Then I started craving greasy foods and I left to get something to eat from KFC. Went to the bathroom and noticed the toilet paper had a slight pinkish color to it.
Then that evening is when it all hit me! And I realized that these were signs of a possible pregnancy. I looked up online and heard by self examining your cervix could give some clues. When I check my cervix it was far back, closed. Soft yet firm and the mucus was white but had a slight blood tinge. A couple of day later which is today I noticed my torso feels very warm, more than normal and between my knees to my feet aches.
The only thing I haven't noticed is any breast changes. I know this is a common symptom but my breasts and nipples look and feel the same as they have before. Sense I do not have this symptom could it mean that I am not pregnant?
Does it sound like I am pregnant? I am freaking out a little because I know my husband would freak out because our finances are already tight!
Has anyone ever had any of these signs in an early pregnancy?1 AnswerPregnancy7 years ago
My period is a week late and now I am showing signs I am ovulating again. I have cramps where my left ovary is and my vagina is excreting stretchy mucus which is a tall tail sign. I am not TTC and the last time I had sex where it would have been possible for pregnancy was less than a month, which he didn't ejaculate at all. I already have one child that is 4 years old and I am not ready for another one. I am not under any major stress in my life right now, and no diet changes. I just think its odd this is happening, anyone have any ideas?1 AnswerWomen's Health8 years ago
Only owned the car for 5 months and put less than 2500 miles on it since. Most of the driving I did was in town. Car drove great until antifreeze started leaking and mechanic told me its the head gasket. Could it of had this problem for a while since before I owned it?3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years ago
I have noticed a bit of a bug problem in my cupboard. The adults are beetles and the nymphs are worms just like a mealworm however, they are all less then a half a centimeter in size. What could they be classified as? They are in the flour, the rice, baking powder, etc. So GROSS!! I think I am going to hurl!!2 AnswersOther - Home & Garden8 years ago

I've had my hammie(a female syrian) now for over a year and I have always noticed her hygiene in her genital area is very poor. I have also noticed that if she is frightened or handled roughly this gooey looking ooze seeps out of her hamgina, which has a very pungent odor. Giving her a bath just makes more of the ooze come out and totally defeats the purpose of the bath. I have already ruled out wet tail because this has been going on for over a year and she would have been dead long ago if that was the case. My hammie eats normal, has normal looking poop, and seems like a healthy hamster. My daughter won't even play with her because she stinks all the time. Any idea?3 AnswersRodents8 years ago
Had it taken around when my menstrual should have started but it was negative. One week later my boobs are sore which is unusual for me and my period hasn't started yet. Is it possible I still could be pregnant?2 AnswersPregnancy8 years ago
I have taken my blood pressure on a couple different occasions and both times it was about 90/70. Is this too low? I am a 25 year old female who is slightly overweight but I eat very healthy; lots of whole grain, fruits and veggies. However I don't get much exercise.2 AnswersOther - General Health Care9 years ago
