  • Is it possible to seek professional help that will change the way you feel about something?

Right or Wrong. Good or Bad. Rational or Irrational. I have a problem. I have made an appointment with a psychologist to deal with my problem.....but what can I expect?

Here is my issue: Porn hurts me. It damages my self-esteem, my pride, my trust. My husband and I have talked about it...and he can keep himslef away from it (for my sake) for a few months at a time, but I feel will always be drawn to it. I do not feel that he is deviant, or sick...I understand that many men do not have to give it up in their relationships. Each relationship is different. For what it's worth, I wish I was okay with it. I wish I could flip a switch and have no problems...I wish I could be that cool wife... I have tried. I have reasoned with myself. I have tried to make myself think diffferently-- can a psychiatrist change the way you think and feel? Is there hope?

    Can they fix me??

Note: My husband is a wonderful man, a great father, and my best friend...this is our ONLY problem.

  • porn -what could be the reason?

Lets just say for instance that all of these things are true....

1.) my husband loves me with all of his heart 2.)we treat each other very well 2.)we have a very healthy sex life 3.)he thinks I am sexy 4.)I have fulfilled every sexual fantasy of his-minus the threesome- 5.)he would do anything for me.

These things being said...he is resisting giving up his porn. I want to understand what the draw is... everyone else says that porn supplements what the relationship lacks..that i must not be putting out, that I must not be attractive to him, that i don't fulfill his fantasies...if these things are not the case, then why is it so hard for him to stop something that hurts my feelings? What are the reasons it is so important to him?

  • can anyone else understand where i am coming from?

I am not looking for who is right, or who is wrong- just wanting to know if there is anyone else out there that hears what i am saying... I have a problem. I am madly in love with my husband. He is my only desire. I wish i could be the cool wife and be okay with everything..but i am not. When he looks at porn, i feel the pain in my heart and in my gut. My wish is that he would love me enough to not only not need porn, but not want porn. I wish that it was something he could willingly give up, just because he can see how much it hurts me. He loves me enough to have given it up, but the resentment is coming..i know it. If I could snap my fingers and be okay with it, i'd do it in a second...does anyone else understand how much it hurts to have the love of your life choose to search for videos/images of other women. I feel betrayed. I feel like something must be wrong with me.

for the record , we do have a very healthy love life-wild and fun, just like it should be. We are in love.

  • Do you think it would work?

okay...hypnotists are known for helping you to quit smoking, lose weight, and misc other things. Do you think one might work for my problem? I need to change the way i feel about something. It hurts me when my husband looks at porn. I will be depriving him of soemthing he enjoys by insisting that he quit. It would be easier, if I could just tell myself to stop letting it hurt me--i don't know how to do that. Do you think a hypnotist could change my views on it , and make me forget that i have a problem with it??

  • How do I fix it?

my husband and I have a near perfect marriage. I am aware of how lucky I am to have such a hard working, loving, good humored husband. There is one, and only one problem in our relationship. I have a problem with the typical male activity of looking at porn. I have openly listened and understand his defense, and would like to be able to change my feelings. I don't know how to change the way it makes me feel. But now it has created a problem--our first and only problem. Ourdaughter used his comp this morn and opened a porn file. I called him on it, now we have a prob. He is convinced that I check his history daily (which I dont). He cant understand whre I am coming from. Our views are divided...we do not see eye to eye on this situation...he doesn't understand why it hurts me, and I cant understand why his love and desire for me isn't enough to stop..

Problem at hand: He will be home in a few hours to discuss our prob.I don't want it to gt any worse than it already is.How do I fix it

  • I have given up trying to understand why it hurts me so much?

I have given up trying to understand why it hurts me so much?

All I really want to know now, is how can I CHANGE the way it makes me feel? I don't want to be this way. Here is my problem:

My husband and I are madly in love, and very happily married. He is a typical male, and visits porn sites from time to time. It literally turns my stomach and makes me very sad that I cannot make him happy enough to not "need" this outlet....This being said...I don't WANT to feel this way...how do I fix it?

(and by the way, I DO put out, and I am darn good at it..)

  • For those men who regularly look at porn?

First of all, let me start off by saying that this question is not meant to judge...i am curious as to the answers though, so humor me and answer as honestly as possible. thanks

If someone offerred you $1 million dollars, to never look at porn again, would that be enough to quit?

    How about $100,000 dollars?

If someone offerred you a brand new Corvette, to never look at porn again, would yuo accept?

What if it broke the heart of the person you love? Would that be enough to give it up??

  • Do I stand a better chance of getting the kids If i was married?

I left my ex-husband 2 years ago, because after 10 years of a miserable marriage, I was ready to move on. He was a verbally abusive to me, and our oldest daughter. He definitely has anger issues. I can no longer handle the 50/50 custody, the kids want to be at my house (the oldest cannot stand her father). I am ready to proceed in getting full custody ...however, he has re-married, and I am currently living with my boyfriend (with plans to get married). My question is...do I stand a better chance of getting the custody of my children if I was married????

  • how would you handle this?

so...your significant other is all over you, says that he can't wait to get you home and "break a chunk off"...you are game and relay that to him. The night continues with flirting and a*ss grabbing...you go and get yourself ready for bed...and lay there and wait. After some time, you get out of bed to find out what is taking him so long....and he is sitting at the computer looking at porn !!! Personally, I was pissed...and completely got turned off...

  • Guys...the condom question?

I know men would prefer to "do it" without using a condom (personally I prefer it too), but....does it really make a difference in the way it feels?

  • I do not want to have sex with him on the days that he has viewed porn?

We have a very full and healthy sex life, so I am not cool with the concept of "hey, let him look at porn then he'll come and do you"....

I am repulsed when I find out that I have had sex with him, when he was on the computer earlier looking at other women... I am hurt and so worried that he is picturing these "other women"..

    Am I wack??
