At about 12:12pm today, our landlord gave sent an email asking to show our apartment to people at 12:00pm tomorrow. Keep in mind that this is both just under 24 hours notice and will also fall on a Sunday. I believe in California, most laws require that the landlord may only enter a tenants apartment on business hours, which are generally considered between 8am and 6pm on weekdays. In addition to that, tomorrow is Easter.
Unfortunately, I do not have the lease available to me to review within the time period she has provided us with. There may be a clause in it stating that she may enter on a weekend, but I am still not sure if that will override the state law. So I would like to know, under California laws, is she allowed to enter our apartment on a holiday such as Easter without consent?
She is severely inconveniencing us by giving us this little notice. Our lease does not expire for another two and a half to three months, so we had absolutely no way to expect her to want to show it this early.3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate7 years ago
I'm helping manage a soon to be new website where people are encouraged to be social about their activities associated with what our website is about. We hope to have people heavily involved in our forums and we have a section for people in the same states or neighboring states to discuss their local area. We have a section for each state currently. I will be posting a sticky thread telling them things along the lines of "be careful who you talk to and meeting them in person because it can potentially turn into a dangerous situation" and possibly a few guidelines.
I would like to know, if two or more of our members decide of their own accord to meet and any of them is endangered if we can be held legally responsible. The last thing I would want is to encourage people to put themselves in danger, but I can't possibly control something like this. Are there any precautions we should take to ensure that our member's actions will not affect our website and the people who work on it?
I just want to make it clear, we are not encouraging people just meeting through our website. We are simply trying to give them the opportunity to reach out to others in their area to speak and make friends to share their hobbies with.1 AnswerSecurity7 years ago
I'd like to make a pineapple upside down cake. Someone suggested to replace water for pineapple juice in a boxed cake recipe, but I'm planning on mixing the cake from scratch and the recipe I use calls for milk and no water. Will the consistency of the batter be similar enough if I use pineapple juice, or will it not cook normally this way? If anyone else has any suggestions, I would love to hear them! The recipe I'm using is just brown sugar, butter, and pineapples baked underneath a basic vanilla cake.5 AnswersCooking & Recipes7 years ago
I get constant sinus infections and usually end up having to see a doctor just to receive a prescription a few times a year. I've recently read that grapefruit seed extract works as an antibiotic which inhibits the growth of pathogens which cause infections.
What I would like to know is whether eating grapefruits regularly would provide me as much as taking the seed extract. As far as I can see, it is made out of the juice, pulp, and membranes of grapefruit, though I'm not sure how much I would have to eat to equal the amount in the extract. I would be more than happy to make the fruit part of my regular diet, because I love them anyway. But if the benefits of the seed extract outweigh eating them, I would like to know.
I'm desperate to fight off these infections before antibiotics are necessary, so I will be happy to receive any other advice on natural alternative methods as well!3 AnswersAlternative Medicine7 years ago
The holidays are coming up and my period is going to land right on the day that my boyfriend and I are driving to his parents' house and will last until we leave. In addition to that, it will also fall on Christmas break. So in order to prolong my cycle, is it alright to take one extra week of active pills that I have in an unfinished pack? (This old pack is one I have half of my pills left over after getting sick and having to start a new month.)
If I take one extra week of active pills, will I continue to be protected during my placebo pills and the week I begin the next pack? And is it harmful to do this? The information sheet which comes with my pills states that it's safe to skip the placebo pills and and continue taking the active pills to avoid menstruation all together, but is it alright to just take one extra week before them?3 AnswersWomen's Health7 years ago
I currently have a Texas state ID. I've recently moved to California and would like to apply for a new ID here, but I don't know the process I have to go through. Do I just show up at the DMV and fill a form for a replacement? Or do I have to send in a change of address form first? Detailed answered would be much appreciated!2 AnswersGovernment7 years ago
I am a very skinny, 5'3" girl. I wear size 1 or 2 pants with the ideal inseam of 27". It is nearly impossible to find small petite sizes in almost any store I've been to, so I've been attempting to find one online. Every store I've been able to find seems to have an extremely limited selection of size 2 petite pants too! Are there any store that you can suggest to me? I'm in my mid twenties, so I don't want to be stuck wearing mom jeans! Any suggestions would be appreciated.7 AnswersFashion & Accessories8 years ago
Since starting my second pack of birth control pills, I've started getting sick about an hour after taking it for the past few nights until noon the next day. Since taking pills with food is usually a good way of solving sickness from pills, I wanted to know if it's okay to take it during a meal. As in, I eat half of my food, swallow the pill, then eat the other half.
I've also heard that taking it with milk will be better than a lot of other drinks with less substance, but I can't stand milk. So does anyone else know a good drink that will work as well?2 AnswersWomen's Health8 years ago
After taking the first pill of my second pack of birth control pills, I got sick after about an hour and a half. I took a new pill an hour later. As long as I continue to take my pills regularly, is it necessary to use back-up birth control for the next week? Half of the things I search say yes and half (including my pill instruction booklet) say no.2 AnswersWomen's Health8 years ago
