It's everywhere a person looks! Waah, don't bully! Waaah!...I get that some people are "bullied to extremes" and they see no way out other than suicide. That IS a tragedy. But, everyday bullying? Where someone tells you that "you look like a dork"? Good God, grow a spine.
I firmly believe that "bullying" is a natural thing and that it serves to make us stronger individuals. Even wild animals pick on other wild animals. (You should see my dog and cat go at it.) But they are healthy and stronger and know their "pecking order" as a result.7 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade ago

Do you believe that depression is a sign that something is missing in a person's life or a chemical imbalance?
Is depression a "warning sign" that a person is missing exercise, social activities, or other, sort-of, basic need or is it something that is essentially "cured" by a pill (an imbalance in the brain that is corrected by a drug)?7 AnswersMental Health1 decade ago
The supply of fish from the Gulf will start (or maybe has started) to decline because of the oil spill. What choices are there for consumers who want to help? Are there certain products we can buy or switch to that would send money that way (other than sending direct donations)?1 AnswerOther - Food & Drink1 decade ago
Is there anything that helped with the discomfort?
I've been off paroxetine for about a week because I can't afford to go to the doc for a new prescription. I knew that was coming up so I tapered off the dose for about a week prior, but I'm still having withdrawal symptoms-"brain zaps" & dizziness mostly.1 AnswerMental Health1 decade ago
I've been seeing a lot this past week about "the dangers of spanking" and I know this idea has been around a long time. But, I know plenty of people who will say they were spanked as a child (myself included) and they are all happy, healthy adults. I think there is a line between spanking about all-out physical abuse, but I'm curious to see how other people view this issue.15 AnswersParenting1 decade ago
I know my boyfriend has been looking at getting me a ring (after being together for YEARS). I caught him looking at jewelry sights, we went to a store, and he flat out has told me, but the timing of ring receipt will be a surprise (ok, fine). But he's been acting extra nice-buying me clothes, making my lunch, etc. It makes me laugh. Do other guys do this?7 AnswersWeddings1 decade ago
My mom asked me the other day if I received an invite to someone's baby shower and I told her that I hadn't. I have never met this person, but I know of her. My mom evidently asked the girl's mother-in-law (this girl is married into the family and I do know her MIL as she is a relative) about my invite and was told that one would have been sent out but she didn't have my address, so of course I'm invited.
But, now I feel awkward. I don't know this girl from Adam (or Eve I guess...) and I didn't get an invite, but my mom is telling me I am invited so I feel a little guilty not going now.
Would other people go in this situation?11 AnswersEtiquette1 decade ago
My husband has been on medical leave for the past month and just got the okay to return without restrictions yesterday. When he spoke to his boss (who he doesn't get along with that well) she said to come in Monday instead of right away today and that she had "some things to discuss". We both think this is a little odd, but obviously we're hoping that it's nothing serious. Before going on leave he had a good review (just a couple, minor things to improve) and he also received a year-end bonus during the time he was on leave.

I'm just feeling really stuffed up and a little run-down from that, but would that affect my blood donation? Will donating blood make me feel significantly worse or not at all?6 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade ago
The worst interview I ever went to was for a part-time, evening receptionist job that I was about 30min away from my house. I had to leave work early to get to there and deal with evening traffic. When I got there I was asked to fill out an application and waited another 30min for the person giving the interview to speak with me (yea, should have left at that point). When we got to her office her desk was covered in papers and she was very disorganized, but we did about a 15-20min interview. After she was done asking me questions she informed me that they filled the position earlier that day, but would I be interested in a different, full-time position within the company? I told I was happy with my current FT job.2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade ago
I'm sure many people remember receiving a questionable gift, but have you ever given one that received an unfavorable response? Did you pick out something that the recipient just didn't like or did you (gulp) get something terrible out of spite?3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade ago
