Books, Movies, advice of any kind... Know a little about cooking, alot about s&%.... Mature, Reubenesque, married for 22 years, (now an empty nester not sure whether to revel in newfound freedom or weep for lost son, now a college freshman), adventurous intellectually (sometimes otherwise), likes to have fun... great (edgy) sense of humor Progressive politically--it's not working! let's try to fix it... OPen to spiritual possibilities (reincarnation, psychic stuff, dreamwork) I am a fifth-year divinityy student-- interested in postmodernism, postcolonialism, white privilege, queering the Bible and various other stories.
The main characters are two cousins names Georgina and Henrietta by they're "tomboys" and are called George and Henry. In one of the stories they're left in the care of an unfriendly aunt or stepmother of one of them. They live near the beach and spend lots of time in a cave. One mystery is about smugglers. They were sort of "old" when I read them in the 1960s. Anyone?4 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade ago
We went into a nearby sushi place for a late lunch while our clothes were drying at the landromat. When the server came, she told us that they were serving the "dinner menu" (the same stuff at higher prices) since it was after 2:30. I asked what time it was and she told me 2:35.
The meal I had planned to order cost $5 more. What time do you think is reasonable for restuarants to switch to "dinner"? Would you have stayed and eaten there? Would you ever go back?3 AnswersOther - Dining Out1 decade ago
I'm looking for a book to give as a gift to a first-grader with advanced reading skills. I would like something with enough pictures to keep it interesting for her and vocabulary that will challenge her a little.
I would prefer stories about African or African-American characters, or at least with a good diversity. It would be great to find someting that she would want to keep, rather than outgrow...
Thanks in advance!7 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade ago
Has anyone seen this Italian movie-- a young woman is engaged to a mobster. She meets a younger hotter guy and begins an affair with him. There's a scene where the mobster's grandmother comes to her apartment because she suspects something. She throws a shoe under the bed to see if the guy is hiding there. He is, but she doesn't catch him because he;s hanging onto the bedsprings and holding himself off the floor.... Anyone know the title?2 AnswersMovies1 decade ago
