I just graduated a few weeks ago and have been considering a Top 25 MBA program for some time now. My overall GPA was a 3.5, which I don't think is terrible in order to get into one of these schools. Anyway, I know that work experience is needed for most of them so I have been applying like crazy to decent paying jobs (for someone straight out of undergrad, that is. Currently, I have two job offers that I need to decide between within the next few days. I already have made a pro/con list and both even out. However, I wonder which would seem more attractive to an admissions committee. One is a glorified wireless sales position (it's a "leadership development program" for new college graduates.) The other is an entry level IT job. With wireless sales, I'd work crazy retail hours, more money, and better benefits. The IT job has barely any vacation time but is a M-F job with no evenings. Either way, I'm going to be very stressed out with whatever job I take but know I need to take a 'stepping stone' job regardless in order to move forward down the road. That being said, my question is which job would give me the experience I would need to get into and excel in an MBA program? I have been weighing this decision for days and can't seem to jump to a conclusion and now it's crunch time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)8 years ago
So, my grandmother, who is 76, is a very stubborn old lady who despises doctors. She has had high blood pressure all her life (VERY high) but refuses to take her medication. On June 21, she was admitted to the hospital right after her doctors appointment (first time she went to one in years because she was complaining of a severe headache) due to her bp being 200/90. She spent the night and went home..promising to take her pills. She took them for a few days then stopped because she "hates medication" and they made her cough. Well, about a week later her ability to walk lessened...and completely disappeared in the last week. This is a woman who walked EVERY DAY. She is all hunched now and can barely move...complaining her ligaments hurt her by her hip and both of her knees hurt so badly. Also, her shoulder/elbow on one side hurts and she gets feet spasms that hurt terribly. She also has been vomiting for the past three days and began complaining of a headache again today but refuses to go to the ER/doctors despite my mother and I begging her to go. She said she is thinking about making an appointment with a new doctor, because she thinks her current doctor is out to get her (which is a big for her) however she will take her time and refuse to go if we make it for her. She took one tylenol pill today, but that is all she would take.
My friends mother who is a nurse thinks it could be one of the conditions listed in the title. She also has an irregular heartbeat on top of the high blood pressure. She has had strokes in her 30's as well. I would really appreciate any insight from those in the medical field on what could make her movement deteriorate so quickly and any other insight that may help. I love my grandmother so very much and want to get as much information as possible to help her.4 AnswersOther - Diseases8 years ago
Over the past year, I've had a lot of hip pain AFTER my normal 3-4 mile run. During my freshman year of college I just dealt with the pain. For the first two months of summer, I've listened to my doctors recommendations and laid off running for a while, with a few runs in between (ending in hip pain). Just the other day, I figured I would switch to my old running shoes to see if maybe my shoe was the issue..and concluded that the Nike Pegagus 25's were the problem. I talked to the shoe guy at Finish Line today and described my problem and he told me I most likely overpronate and recommended either the newest Nike shoe (LunarGlide +2) or Brooks Adrenaline. I decided to research my buy just to get the best shoe for my needs, but I'm still not sure which may be the better fit for me. Also, I wear D width. Any help is appreciated!3 AnswersRunning1 decade ago
So I randomly remembered this drink I used to love as a child. I think it was called "Mist" and two of the flavors I remembered were black cherry and possibly boysenberry. I know it tasted awesome, it was out in the 90's and I think it got recalled..I can't find anything on the internet about it and am wondering if anyone else knows what I'm talking about or what it's really called..5 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade ago

I've finally started running every day again recently and noticed that sometimes after a run, the water tastes very sweet..as if a few teaspoons of sugar were poured in. I've noticed it in the past but never really sought an answer. But now I'm starting to wonder the reason behind it. Anyone know or have an idea?3 AnswersRunning1 decade ago
I finally did the online enrollment fee for the fall of 2009 at the University of Pittsburgh tonight..but accidentally clicked send twice..and 600 dollars was deducted from my account instead of 300. Will they automatically realize I paid twice, or should I call on Monday?3 AnswersFinancial Aid1 decade ago
I recently got my license and am under my mothers car insurance policy, however; I'm staying at my aunts this summer and have to drive my pap's car to work. My pappy (98 yrs old) is transferring the car in my name..and getting insurance in my name only for 6 months. My question is..can i be on two policies (a state farm and nationwide) at once? Or would I have to be taken off of the one with my mother? My mother is being rude about it and won't call, so I am asking here.4 AnswersInsurance & Registration1 decade ago
I'm wondering which running shoes to buy...I'm currently set on Nike + shoes and am looking at the Nike Shox Turbos or the new pegagus +'s.....they will be for distance runs and occasionally some middle distance. I've read many times that shox are terrible and would like some opinions. Thank you.4 AnswersRunning1 decade ago
I had my hair done for a Christmas dance and my stylist did an awesome job with a marcel curling iron. I now got one as a Christmas present and do not know how to use it. I tried and it looks nothing like what my stylist did. Why is there a magic wand handle and the lock/unlock feature. Thanks.2 AnswersHair1 decade ago
I'm 16 and have not yet had a menstrual cycle. I have GHD and have been off of my shots for 3 months, and I went to my endocrinologist today, which decided to put me on birth control so I can get a period, mind you..I have a benign brain tumor which is the cause of my GHD and the reason for me not being able to produce estrogen on my own. I've already hit all my other stages of puberty except for some breast development and the 'growing of the hips'. I have a few questions...one is, How big will my hips be, on estimate that I'm a size 1 in jeans. Another is since I also have hypothyroidism, will I have an increased risk of side effects? And since I wont ovulate (I had cancer when I was a little tot, and the chemo damaged my ovaries)...is this necessary to even have a menstrual cycle? One more question, how much will this affect the change of my figure..I'm a runner and not too excited about the growth of my breasts and hips. Anyway, thanks for your time and concern, I do appreciate it!3 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade ago
I have a widows peak and long, thick wavy hair that's mid-back length. Should I get side bangs and layers?
Hi, I've had long hair for quite a while...I'm 15 and thinking about a new 'do', a lot of people are telling me to keep it, and vice versa...Like I said...it's thick and kinda wavy and I have a widows peak. Also, if side bangs and layers wouldn't work, what would (for me, if i decide to get it cut). Thanks for your input!7 AnswersHair1 decade ago
