Yesterday I asked this question and proposed a Dodger trade that I admit was overpriced, but I did so as an example to encourage fans of other teams to play along. All responses critiqued my trade, WHICH WASN'T THE POINT!!! Only one Texas Ranger fan had the guts to step up. He's getting the 10 pts. So, my fellow GMs, let's try this again.
If your team is in the pennant chase and is one ace away, what would your team have to give up to realistically land Halladay. And please, no 5th starter, 3rd string catcher, utility infielder, class A prospect.6 AnswersBaseball1 decade ago
Alright all you GMs out there, put together your best trade proposal for Toronto Blue Jay's ace Roy Halladay. And please, don't offer up your #5 starter, your #8 hitter, a third-string catcher, and single-A prospect.
As a Dodger's GM, here's my package:
Catcher Russell Martin
Rightfielder Andre Ethier
Pitcher Chad Billingsley
Infielder Blake Dewitt
Reliever Scott Elbert
Top rated prospect Andrew Lambo
Dodgers also get C Rod Barajas in the exchange.

My son needs to create a short documentary featuring clips from films and old tv shows. Is there a preferred format? What editing software is best?4 AnswersComedy1 decade ago
I have Internet access via wired modem (Speedstream 5100), which is fine for me. My son has a MacBook Pro, and when he visits me on the weekends, he needs Internet access to do his college assignments. I'm buying a Linksys WRT54G Wireless G router; easy install from what I understand. What else will I need, i.e. set ups, ID #s, going from a wired modem to wireless router? Thanks in advance.3 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade ago
Lakers needed a big body, got a bigger underachiever than the player they traded away. Didn't need another SF who doesn't play defense.

I made a request to the City of Fort Worth to access the file on my Dad's homicide, a 28 year old cold case. I asked for the file in connection with research for a book I'm writing about my parents, and I want to fill in details of his life prior to his death.
City has asked the State Attorney General to deny my request on grounds that all or most of the contents are excepted from the Public Information Act. They claim are that the case is still "open and pending", and that granting access would interfere with an ongoing investigation. Additionally, there are biometric identifiers (fingerprints) included, as well as criminal background info.
Over the years, I've drawn my own conclusions as to what happened, but have no interest in revisiting the mystery.
In the alternative, I would seek a redacted version where any info potentially embarrassing to persons living is stricken. I'd love to get advice from anyone who has run into similar legal roadblocks while doing research.2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade ago

I live in Los Angeles, and I am trying to secure a full or redacted copy of a police report on my dad. He was murdered 28 years ago; case closed due to insufficient evidence. I have faxed my request to the Fort Worth Police Department. The turnaround time is 6-10 business days. My concern is that the Records and ID division can't even tell me if records going back that far even exist, let alone what it would cost me to get a copy of the report. What I'm trying to avoid is a bureaucratic run-around, where I don't hear from anyone for another week, call and be told that they don't even have a record of my original request.
Is there a more effective way to make this request?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.6 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade ago
My son is preparing for his final exam in Spanish. He has to write an original song in English and perform it in Spanish. His concern is that, as he tries to translate to Spanish, something in the meaning will be lost. I know this is a lot to ask, but 10 points to the best interpretation. Here are the verses:
If life is like a movie
Does it end like a fable?
If so I would pay to see it
To relive all the memories
It would start with my theme music
And show the house where I used to live
Highlight the things that I used to do
And the people I used to love
I could laugh at my joys
Cry for all my sorrows
I would realize the mistakes I made
And remember when I used to dream
In the past when I was not scared
To face the world
I would die heroic
I would have memorable last words4 AnswersLanguages1 decade ago
I know, I know, it sounded funny to me too, but I'm trying to help my son with a assignment for his spanish class.3 AnswersLanguages1 decade ago
Filling in for Meredith. I've never seen or heard of him before. What's his name and background?1 AnswerCelebrities1 decade ago
This sounds premature considering the Lakers are still one of the top seeds, but I don't think they will come out of the West, due to their lack of physicality. I'd love to see LA pursue a more reliable back up to Andrew Bynum than Chris Mihm, as well as a "low post grinder" who can bang bodies and bother the Duncans, Stoudamires of the Western Conference.
If I could play GM, I'd explore trades for two of the following players:
Indiana's Jeff Foster
Washington's Etan Thomas
Seattle's Chris Wilcox
With Kobe, Gasol, and the bench mob, there's ample scoring; therefore the only free agents I'd be interested in are 2nd tier, mid-level exemption types. Who knows who those are yet. Your thoughts...4 AnswersBasketball1 decade ago
