  • How can I tell what the weather is normally like at a certain time of year?

Hi, I'm trying to see what the weather is like in Southern Oregon in early October (October 10). I know there's some way to see what the weather is normally like year after year, but I don't know what to search for or where to go.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

  • How long after taking iron supplements should I wait before drinking milk?

Hi, I'm anemic, and it's lately been coming to kick me in the butt.

So I've started taking iron pills, and I know that calcium cancels out iron... but I drink A LOT of milk throughout the day.

Just wondering what a good time frame is, after taking the iron before I should start drinking milk?

I've been allowing myself small amounts of dairy after taking the iron. Figure a little won't hurt too much. Any info is helpful! Thanks! :)

  • How many *regular* stamps do I need to mail to Iraq?

Hi, I want to start mailing just plain ol' letters to my friends in Iraq. Regular envelope and everything. I have read other questions that mention first class stamps, but I want to know if I can use normal stamps? If so, how many normal stamps do I need?

I went to the USPS website, and it said it would cost like 98 cents, but didn't tell me stamp wise. :( Lol. Thanks!

  • Trying to Go Green-what can I recycle? And other tips.?

I just read a book about what can happen to the planet if we continue to live how we are. It really makes you think. So, I want to go green, and do what I can to help keep the planet clean.

Mainly, I'm concerned with WHAT I can recycle. I buy diapers in the big boxes that have been printed on. Pizza carryout boxes, beer cases, what about those shiny glossy ads that come with your newspaper? I heard somewhere that those can't be recycled. Anyone know if I can recycle everything I just listed?

And do you have other tips for me? I know about unplugging electronics and replacing light bulbs. Any tips would be helpful.

  • How much do CNAs, LPNs, and RNs make in Oregon?

Hello! I just got my NA, and I will be testing to get my CNA (also known as LNA in other states) next month. I am planning on going back to school to advance further into the nursing career, but I all of a sudden I got curious how much LPNs make. Are they paid per hour, or is it salary? How about RN?

For those of you that ARE LPNs and RNs, how did you handle the schooling? Would you suggest I go full time or part time? I'm planning on part time, but that will take forever, right?

    Thanks!

  • Locked my keys in my car.. cheap/easy way to get them out?

I have a Nissan 200SX SE. I locked my keys in the car, in the ignition (smart move,eh?).

I don't, seriously, have ANY money. At all. NO cash, no credit or debit cards. No AAA or otherwise roadside assistance through insurance. AND.. I'm out of town. About 90 miles away from home.

The way I see it, my options are:

1)Break a window (but how expensive would it be to get it replaced, right?)

2)call a locksmith/tow company... but then how am I going to pay for it?

3)Have my uncle overnight ship me the extra key?

4)Beg someone to give tow/locksmith company their credit card, and I pay them back over time, or by my next paycheck.

5)Have my uncle moneygram me some money via walmart and pay him back through my next paycheck (I work for him, so he could just take it out).

    6) get someone to drive me back home, get the key, and then drive me back.

I don't know. I'm so lost. I tried the coat hanger method, but it seems like I can't even get it through the sealing around my door/window.

Anyone have any clue what the cheapest alternative would be? How much each of these run (I live in Oregon if that helps)? Thanks for your help guys!

PS - I NEED to be back Tuesday morning to resume my CNA training.

  • Getting my CNA (certified nurse's aid)- Specific Shoes Needed?

I just got accepted into a CNA course. When going for my interview, the lady told me (at least I think) that I need "close-toed shoes with a heel strap."

The only close-toed shoes WITH a heel strap that I could find are those horrible crocs. Those ones that have holes like swiss cheese and look like they're made out of foam and come in many colors. I cannot STAND those.

Does anyone know if she meant that they had to be both close-toed and shoes with a heel strap? Why aren't slip-resistant tennis shoes acceptable? Or are they?

And if not, are there any other shoes out there that fit this description and where can I find them? Thank you for your help!

  • I'm learning Spanish and need some music to help me learn? Suggestions?

I learn languages well by listening to music and then translating it word-for-word. I would like some suggestions for some Spanish songs that are a little slower, but maybe have a lot of lyrics. Or even websites that have good, proper spanish/english translations for songs. I HATE using translators, they're hard to understand.

Any Spanish bands and/or songs would be helpful

and any lyrics based website that has good translations for Spanish lyrics to English would be awesome too. :)

    Thank you!

  • Animal Rennet used in Which Types of Cheeses?

Hello, I'm looking to find which cheeses are normally safe from animal rennet... someone told me that soft cheeses are usually rennet-free, but they included ricotta, mozzarella and the like in there.

I'm not looking for specific brands, just the types of cheeses that are most commonly used in my kitchen/places I eat. Guess those would be Parmesan, cheddar, mozzarella, (I eat a lot of italian food) ricotta, cream cheese, colby, swiss, etc.

    Thanks guys! :)

  • Would I Be Able to Foster Parent?

Hello! Lately I heard that we are in desperate need for foster parents where I live, and I LOVE children, but I don't know if I would be able to. I'm only 21 years old, and I'm a single mother. I work from home and make enough to support my 2 year old and I, BUT I also already get help from the government with foodstamps and government-issued insurance for my son.

I LOVE my son, and I'm here for him whenever he needs me. I'm certified in first aid/cpr and was also a caregiver. I'm going to college, and my sister owns a daycare.

What type of stuff do they look for? Do I need to be older or have a "father figure" in the household?

    Thanks for any info! :)

  • Should a college report be double-spaced?

I'm writing a report for my college course and lost the guidelines in the format. Me being the very big procrastinator I am, decided to wait until the week before it's due to start working on it. Do reports for college normally need to be double-spaced?

  • What is a word meaning "to do something subconciously, without thinking"?

There is a word that my friend used, and we are trying to find how it is spelled. He guessed "insiquentionally," but we haven't been able to return any results. The word should mean something similar to 'to do something without intentionally thinking about it.' Thanks for your help!!! :)

  • Where can I find the giant Roseart coloring posters?

Does anyone know where I might be able to buy the coloring posters that Roseart used to make? I'm specifically looking for the giant one in the link below.

    http://innermoose.com/Picture_039.JPG

It was huge and it came in a tube. I can't find them where I used to buy them, so I think Roseart stopped making them. :(

  • More Algebra Help?

Haha, sorry! Helping my little bro again, and he came across something else I didn't remember.

OK, please explain steps and how to answer questions like the following. Solving for X.

5=20/X (5 = 20 over X. I know the answer, just not how I got it, he needs to show his work)

    And this one:

    cx/a = b/m (CX over A = B over M).

Also, do any of you know a good website that he/I can look at for help when we need it? Thanks a lot, guys!!!

  • Algebra Help?

My little brother-in-law needs help with his algebra. It's been a long time since I've used algebra, so could someone help me figure out how I would go about solving a problem like this:

    3x = 1/4

    (three times X = one-fourth)

Solving for X, of course. Thank you!!!

  • My fish are dying, please help!?

My fiance and I just bought a 55 gal aquarium. We put water into it, sand, got the filter running and everything going for about 3 days. We transferred out 8 inch Plecostomus from our 10 gal, and bought 4 gouramis, 4 sharks, 3 corys, and a peacock eel. We have a filter on one side, and two large live plants, as well as decoration plants and rocks. The heater is set to 81, but it's reading 77. We lost a gourami last night and a shark today. The water has been foggy, and the fish barely breathe or move before they die. Frantically, I transferred all the fish left but the eel and the corydoras into our 10 gal, which is warm and clear. The 10 gallon is really crowded for the night until the morning, but what could possibly be going wrong?! Is there anything I can do for tonight that will help my eel and corys live overnight? One shark and our plecostomus were starting to die, but will they be fine now?Thank you so much for any help.

    Frantically,

    Jenna
