Who else has thought this? I am 15 and in 10th grade, but I know more than most of my teachers. I have asked my teachers before; some questions that they were unable to answer (of course, within their field), so I question how they could not know so many things if they are teachers for this. Another thing is, I don't learn much at school that I don't already know, and I cant stand being there. I am tired of how mindless everyone seems to be, not only that but everyone is like a puppet, if I wanted to I could influence almost anyone to do anything. My teachers have said before that certain assignments are completed as though by a college level student, but that does not mean I make good grades, but I know the reason is because I really don't care. Long story short: I hate school, and I could learn a year's worth of information in about two weeks (and so can many other people if teaching weren't so simplified). Why does school not allow teachers to use proper techniques to teach in a shorter amount of time? My own answer for this is that we are being tested for our tolerance and behavior, rather than intelligence, but I would like to see other answers. If it were to just learn about what we need to know for the so called "real world", then why is it that half (not literally but an exaggeration for what seems like a lot) of whats taught is not important unless you decide to get a carrier in that field? If we only go to learn basic knowledge, then wouldn't this not have to be taught until college? And if teach it, why not teach it with ought flaw (for example, the food pyramid is wrong, and the "Freytag's pyramid" for writing is just annoying in plots, not only that, but the Big bang theory is completely wrong because of gravity and the 5th dimension. In addition to that, humans have 10 senses, not 5: Magnetoreception, Nociception, Proprioception, Thermoception, Equilibrioception, Mechanoreception, Olfaction, Gustation, Audition, and Vision, but they are not taught.) If teach something, teach it right. One time on a test, a math teacher put that a trigon had 2 sides the same and 1 side different, so the question was wrong already.
