• Dental Malpractice ..For a year I've been trying to get help with this, but because of who injured me, I can't?

Best answer: Try talking to your state dental board if you have not yet. Some boards have procedures where they can take your complaint to the dentist and try and work something out. It is called peer review. Otherwise you may have to move on and seek treatment elsewhere. Sorry.

  • What is the difference between porcelain and bonded plastic veneers?

Best answer: I believe you mean porcelain and composite veneers. The porcelain veneers are stronger and will last longer than composite. Composite is not as strong and can stain and lose its polish over time. Veneers are not made of plastic. Composite veneers may cost less than the porcelain but may not look as nice. • My 23 month old boy fell and banged his front teeth on a toy . Anyway one of his front teeth now wobble a bit?

Best answer: Usually in these cases no treatment is indicated. The teeth or tooth will tighten up on their own if they are not too loose. Have your child checked by the dentist to be sure.

  • How do I know if I have a cavity under a dental crown?

Best answer: Many times if a root canal is necessary under a bridge the bridge does not have to be cut off and remade. A small hole can be made in the offending crown and the root canal done. You might get a second opinion on this.

Best answer: I don't know if there is a good website for this. I would suggest going to the nearest medical/dental library and looking in a textbook of prosthodontics. They would be able to explain it to you much better. I don't know where you live so I don't know the nearest school to you.

  • Is it safe to go jogging with temporary filling in molar after a root canal? (concern is dry socket)?

Best answer: If you feel alright it is safe to exercise after a temporary filling is placed in a tooth with a root canal. Dry sockets occur after extractions only. A root canal is a different procedure so there is no chance for a dry socket.

  • Is it possible to get braces on only one set of teeth?

Best answer: In general braces are needed on both top and bottom. The top and the bottom teeth meet up when you chew, so changing one arch will change the way the teeth meet up and so both upper and lower teeth may need to be moved so they can meet up properly.

  • Will my tooth go darker ?

Best answer: It may get slightly lighter but not much. You may be able to do what is called an 'internal whitening' on the tooth. This gets the tooth lighter after a root canal has been done on the tooth. Ask your dentist if this procedure would be indicated. The other way to get the tooth lighter is with a crown.

Best answer: Yes it is normal for the tooth to move very slightly like you say. The retainer is hurting your teeth because they may have shifted since you have not been wearing it. See your dentist if you have not recently to make sure everything is o.k.
