With that said, they do not celebrate Christmas with trees and presents, they don't celebrate Easter with candy and egg hunts, they don't do Valentines day, they just don't celebrate. The things that I'd imagine you would celebrate, such as christmas trees and trick-or-treating, actually are pagan activities. I didn't fully understand until I started looking at paganism. Anyways, what seems to be harmless, fun activities to us are actually the remnants of sin to them. Hope this explains some stuff. It's a really fascinating subject for me, my father's family was Jehovas Witnesses and I never understood it until recently.

I challenge gender roles in order to do what I want. You should, too.

Good question. Did you know that Mormons believe in three heavens, and no hell? There's a heaven for the ambitiously-religious, the regular-religious, and the non-or-lazily-religious.

We let others define all that we will ever be. Now, I'm not homosexual, but I'd imagine that because we as a society are hardwired with that idea that a house should be ran by a masculine person and a feminine person, perhaps some couples are just trying to replicate that structure in which they were raised, while also allowing themselves to love who they want. Perhaps there are straight people as well who don't follow their predetermined gender roles as well, because gender roles are ludicrous! Ever met a straight girl who liked guns, or explosions, or skateboards, or video games, or whatever? They're all over the place! Why would it be hard to believe that people just want to act like themselves, regardless of their gender or the role society tries to force on them?

Best answer: I'm wiccan, and here's my answer! Many people who decide to become wiccan usually convert from Christianity, where witchcraft is a big no-no. So many new witches will experience guilt during their practices. Many fear that God will send them to hell. So before you do anything, you need to sit down, and determine what exactly you believe, and then believe firmly. If you have those fears, then witchcraft is not for you. Witchcraft is also not for the stereotypical teen who craves attention. Being a witch is not something to show off. Many teens and young adults join thinking they're gonna scare their enemies, when in reality, their enemies will think they are just insane harry potter fans. Because of misconceptions, advertising the fact that you practice witchcraft is never good. People will question you, and you'll look dumb unless you can efficiently back your beliefs up with logic. Obviously, we do spellwork. My spells have mostly consisted of self-improvement. You can do pretty much whatever you want, but its important to know a few things first. That satanic-ish witchraft, that dark stuff, those are acts of evil. In Wicca, we don't condone evil. Most wiccans pick up witchcraft so that they could improve their lives and the lives of those they love. But then again, each witch has their own moral system. Most of us do believe in karma, so that evil stuff won't fly with most of us. We do divination, too. Palm reading, numerology, tarot cards, all that stuff. Now, this too depends on what you believe in. When I first started out, I thought divination was just a bunch of huey. I'm still not a big fan of it, but I go to it in certain situations. There's also the many gods and goddesses we may or may not worship. Again, each person has their own set of beliefs. What I can say in my experience, though, is that I think of gods as aspects of life, not literal gods. If you need help in one area of life, you look for the god that corresponds. Many of us adopt a pantheon of gods, such as Greek gods, Norse gods, Celtic gods, etc. There are even a few Christian wiccans, who integrate the two clashing ideas. Whatever works for you. You have to do a lot of studying to be a witch. There are /a lot/ of different aspects in the religion. This is the site I used, starting out, to get a better understanding of things.

I don't personally agree with "recruiting", but looking from the church's veiwpoint, your missionaries are saving lives. It's a clash of viewpoints, essentially. Other than that, as a non-christian, I would say that I could respect your beliefs, along with everyone else's. Many people feel like they have to be on one side or another, and wage war. What they don't realize is that we don't have to do that. Whoever's giving you grief, tell 'em to mind their own business. Their beliefs are theirs, your beliefs are yours.

People believe that they are talking to ghosts and spirits, when really, they're only talking to themselves. So ouija away! My suggestion is just to not be stupid and use some common sense. If you're gonna light candles and turn the lights off (which makes the experience so much more fun), Don't get scared and flip out and knock them over. Don't grab knives and start stabbing people. It's important to know that everything that the "spirit" said, was actually made up by you. Spirits and Ghosts are not real. So have your fun, but when you're done, you need to realize that it wasn't real.

That's what religion is- how you perceive and want to live life. Religions shouldn't be strict, separate boxes packed with beliefs- I mix and match mine, along with logic and reasoning. If you're having feelings that are genuine, don't ignore them. You'd be denying yourself. If they aren't genuine, fight 'em. My bus driver makes us listen to Christian music, and things get stuck in my head all the time. I fight it.
